Good advice. For beginners, I would mostly just focus on the bottom vent, without messing with the top vent too much. You could open the top 1/4 for low and slow, or set at 3/4 for burgers or chicken or whatever, then leave it alone and just focus on the bottom vent - while trying not to open the lid too frequently. I'd also add, controlling the temp is more critical on long cooks - low and slow BBQ, or maybe a Turkey at higher temps. If you are grilling chops or chicken or burgers or dogs - 300 degrees is not that different from 375. Just use a meat thermometer and you will get good results.
I’m a big kettle cooker. Came across your channel and immediately subscribed. Awesome video. You obviously know what you’re talking about. Looking forward for more content.
I had a 22 weber for years, I finding got a 26 in weber,I was looking for a 26 in wsm with no answer. If u get a new grill buy a slow n sear with drip pan. I love it and know I'm a believe
I have a Performer and love it. Only thing that’s missing is an adjustable grate. I’ve considered a Hasty Bake in the past. Have you ever had experience with one? Seems the best of all worlds. Direct, indirect, low and slow.
Thanks you for the video. I have a question. I bought two days ago master touch premium e5770 and assembled it today. the top vent feels too soft and not tight. When I open the grill lid the vent falls and I have to put it back to the desired level. It is something normal that it is like that or there is a certain problem?? I would be happy to help
I have the Master-Touch GBS Premium E-5775. And its literately impossible to do temp control. It's even so bad that when I close the top and bottom vents to make the fire go out, it just keeps burning till the briquettes are as good as gone. Which means, according to me, air is still getting inside. My little original weber kettle doesn't have this issue at all. very dissapointed!!!! Do you have any ideas about this issue too?
Yes, I had the same issue with my mtp. Turned out to be an out of round lid and Weber sent me a new top lid. Check out this video for the details. Weber Master Touch Premium | 6 Month Updated Review th-cam.com/video/y5UxTgt3XFY/w-d-xo.html
@@tomwadek thx for your help and advice. I contacted weber and they just sent me a new one. Their customer service is indeed excellent. kudo's to you and weber of course.
Do it as quickly as possible. The less time the lid is up the better. Your temp should setting back to where you need it if you close the lid within 10-20sec

Hello from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. How will you cook a pork picnic shoulder (pernil) in the Weber Kettle?
I would put it on a rotisserie over Fogo lump charcoal 😎
Great Vid, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Funny thing is I think webber forgot the plastic piece that goes on the top air vent so you don't burn yourself on some modles
It was purposely left out on the “lower end model” lol
