I hade this same issue… Did you check the lil rubber grommets on the top of the clutch assembly? I hade this same issues u hade and befor I went crazy with the electric part I thought let me inspect the clutch what do u know at the top of the clutch there was two rubber grommets that push down on a button that allows you to turn on your car
