    I learned the Back handspring last summer, though the way I did it was always after a round off. I used the round off as a confidence and momentum builder, however just some advice for people who want to learn this. Make sure you stretch and work out your back cause I over worked my back muscles doing this to much without giving my body time to adjust to it after learning it. Now I have to relearn this move since I've been out of practice.

    Whoever is reading this or is trying to learn how to back spring , don't get over confident because I did this and almost broke my neck because I didn't realise how low I was jumping and then mid flip I panicked. Just to let you know this is not technically advice it's just not what to do while learning this flip or any flip

Grew up in the slums of my country and grassy areas are nowhere to be found, so Id walk to the rich people area and one happen to have a front yard thats beyond their guarded fence so Id go there and practice before the guards spots me. learned it ina week then I just practiced on concrete. PS I hope you enjoyed my lifestory

    When i do it i do it sideways how do i fix that

    • @xumstead
      @xumstead 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I have the same problem,but what I do to go less sideways is keeping everything tight especially my core and i don't jump back until I start to lean back and my head tilts back trying to look behind me if that makes sense. So 1. keep everything tight, 2.lean back still strong tight core trying to look behind myself. 3. jump off the ground and everything follows. So far it helps me eliminate side-winding a bit and I just started doing that today. I hope this helps.

    It is definitely not save learning the skill on the grass, it can cause injury to the wrist , elbow and shoulder joint. I strongly learning it on a trampoline first. Get the technique right first. The skill requires high level of agility and certain amount of flexibility mainly the thoracic bridge.

      Potatoes Are Nice I would just recommend you create as safe of an environment as possible (gymnastics gym, foam pit, pads, someone spotting you/ helping you) when you know your safe you just have to let go of and just go for it.

    • @K0szk0
      @K0szk0 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same problem with my fear of jumping backwards until one day I put some soft things like blankets and springs from an old bed in a pile on the grass and tried doing back hand spring over it. It helped me in overcoming fear and made the training safer, because If something went wrong and I didn't rotate enough, I was falling on this soft pile. After a few jumps over the pile, I could already jump backwards without it.

    • @JammyJayy2000

    I'm assuming this is safest to learn on nice cushy gym mats.
    I've always worried about breaking my neck if I try flips on harder ground.
    Wouldn't hurt to have something to keep you from making contact with the ground altogether, like being suspended by bungee cords attached to the ceiling or something.
    You could really let go and learn how to use your legs to make yourself do a proper flip without any fear of hurting yourself.
