Realistically how many people do you know of breaking there neck doing a backflip it's very rare
At the same time tho, how many people do you know of attempting a backflip?
It's funny, when you mentioned how people tend to cheat by going over the shoulder. That actually helped me, because I was afraid to actually back flip and nobody had ever mentioned that over the shoulder thing. xD I've gotten over it and stumbled on to your video again, so I decided to say thank you. Thank You! ^_^
I will be alone while learning backflip from the basics... hopefully I won't die
+Gábor Zámborszky ive had about 6 injuries 3 neck injuries and 3 arm and knee injuries
I've done my first backflip on the grass on 6/9/2014, which was a good feeling, although I still have been landing using my hands. I will be using this tutorial (and other tutorials) to help me gain further knowledge into landing a backflip flawlessly. Thank you very much Ronnie Street Stunts!
I love what you did in 5:56 never thought of such a great way of explaining things. Great work!
Once I knew how to do it on a trampoline and off a diving board, I learned how to do it off a 4ft platform into my yard, before I could even do a standing backflip. It was a lot easier for me to rotate completely around than it was off of flat ground. A couple years later, with the help of a spotter and your tutorial, I can finally do a backflip on flat ground. Thanks for the tips!
"progressively and safely"
Today: i ran out my house and tripped
Tomorrow: maybe i give up, we'll see
U sarcophagus self-imposed u want me to full twist or do a corkscrew for u I want u to be a friend and I will be a good friend and I will be forever grateful for your help and support for the rest of the day and I hope you enjoy your holiday and hope you enjoy your holiday and hope you enjoy your holiday and enjoy your holiday and enjoy your holiday and enjoy your holiday
All I said I was just kidding
I found it a lot easier to start by jumping off of a low height, as I didn't need to tuck nearly as much to get over so it felt safer. As I progressed I started using lower heights and now I can do them off the ground.
Ronnie, I think this was one of the better backflip tutorials I've seen. One big reason why is that it was thorough. A lot of people just go through the motions when they do tutorials and don't explain that much, but this was more thorough than most. I know that when I did my splits tutorial series, as well as my bonebreaking/shoulder dislocation tutorial series, I tried to be more thorough in the tutorials, which is why my tutorial videos are longer.
The 201 people who disliked this video are probably in the hospital.
I tried doing flips following other guides and videos, but after watching this one, around 400 or 450 tries later, I finally did it
awesome tutorial, tried that yesterday and landed it. as soon as you break down the movement like you do, the fear actually goes away naturally. thank you! i'm stoked!
I'm going to try this at gym tomorrow... I am super confident and I have practiced then a lot on tramps and stuff so now I have to go for it... Any suggestions
your father ROCKS !!!
I learned backflip in 4 days!!!
( 4 years and 4 days and still counting )
😁
Thank you a lot! I was deathly afraid of backflips. Not knowing what to do, but you showing the techniques really helped. You just got a subscriber!
I'm committed a hundred percent but I can not go backwards I do everything right but I cannot give myself to go backwards
I recommend learning in trampoline first. Try it so you can land it standing flat on tramp then try. Keep at it :)
thanks man, i give you the label of the best backflip tutorial and progression
Great tutorial, it has actually helped my form a little as well. Not sure if this helps other people, but when I started learning I started with backwards hand springs either from standing or after a round off. It just took the edge off my nerves when going straight back.
i have only problem with landing!!! so, how can i improve my landing????? Please Help!!!
is the backflip harder than the front flip?
No, front flip is harder physically and technique wise. Anyone can do a backflip, even a fat person. Only thing stopping everyone from backflip is fear.
Who are these people that give this vid a thumbs down? Screw you! Ronnie does a better job at detailing the technique, than most of my previous instructors. Rock On Ronnie!
Thank you. You're awesome dude. Hope you have another great year. God bless
im too scared :(
Ye I can do backflips from a diving board, but annywhere else I chicken out. Fing annoying. I feel so much safer with water under me.
Sindre Eide Its easy, but its obvious not to do it on something hard. i used to do it into water to start with like you . then i tried to do it from the side of the pool. and then i used to chicken out aswell, but i tried to do in in the sand down for a little box and it worked. its just about trying it. now its really easy. once you just go for it
Can you do a back full tutorial???
Nice, thx for the tutorial. I havent done any freerunning for like 3 months and wanted to start completely from the beginning, thanks for the refresher on the technique
Just wanted to say that I learned a lot from u and I have now started making my own tutorials thanks so much
I'm afraid to try this, and I'm having a hard time on doing a safety roll
Deer1031 Well yes the basic movement is the easiest but there are small things such as hitting your shoulder or hip which require a little bit of technique
Alright....seems easy.
I am 100% confident in doing this.
I have never attempted it.
I think I am ready for...
ZE BACKFLIP.
Once I have done...
ZE BACKFLIP,
I will attempt
ZE #360YOLOSWAG
But actually, my common sense has made an inference that once the backflip has been commited, I can easily do the 360. You just have to do a backflip, while spinning while winding the jump.
I like this guy, he really teaches you step by step, and makes it safe as possible.
Best tutorial I've seen. Thanks bro
Do you think it's okay to learn this on sand? I.e on the beach? (if I wear trainers?) because that's the safest place I can think of right now. Or is grass better?
Soft sand usually makes a decent cushion, but it can also be a little bit harder to jump on. If you learn it on sand I would recommend you have one or two people spot you like the way I demonstrated in this video. Ultimately its up to you if you feel you can do it safely in that environment.
+Ronnie Street Stunts i can almost do a backflip off of something thanks for the tutorial
+Noah Barlow ikr I can now front flip and land , cartwheel and flip and backflip
+Ronnie Street Stunts Hello!!!! So I was doing backflips two weeks ago on a spring floor. I was landing them and it was super fun, but the next day I felt really stiff in my abdominal muscles and in my arms. I didn't think much about it, but the next week I went back to class and tried backflips again, and I felt a horrible pull/rip in my abdominal muscles. I went to the ER and they said that i have a strained abdominal muscle and so now im out of commission for five more weeks! Once I am healed, and doing backflips again, how can I make sure that I don't pull that muscle again?
I am just a kid age 11 I love parkour so much and your vids help a lot I have never met you ronnie but I think from everything I have seen and heard of you, you are a very nice and amazing person who inspirers people like me!!!
i rarely comment a youtube video, but here i am to say THANK YOU. your tutorial has a lot of point that other videos dont have for corward like me. like you said, safety first.
Happy New Year!
Happy late new year. This is the closest thing we will have to time travel.
hey Ronnie, I just learned my backflip after 1 and a half YEARS, and this was the first video I watched. :)
really love your tutorials
Help.....
I once landed on my head, Since then I couldn't get over the fear of rotating,
Did somebody come across this problem? How to get over it?
{And , I used to practice in water}
Just take baby steps such as
1. Just start jumping
2. Jump and fall backwards BUT DO NOT ROTATE
3. Once your confident THEN rotate
Maybe you could try wearing a helmet to protect your head? I don't know if this affects your rotation but you could give it a try!
I have that problem too but I have this habit to push myself to reach my targets. Just believe that it won't go wrong and do it I always fall cz I'm starting something and when I am in the air I am like OH NO WAIT and and then I'm splashing with the back to the ground. Try to avoid that it's safer to fall when u give it all than falling cz u changed your mind! I hope this helps you
How do you practice in water? You would end up hitting the edge of a pool or something.
i learned these 3 monthes ago an every thing u have said i do great job
Thanks man this helped me loads, made me realise what I was doing wrong aswell!
I landed my first backflip yesterday
learned it thx to you. keep filming you are awesome
OMG I DID IT
IN MY MIND 😅😂
can you do duble backflips on the grund
yes look it up there are tutorials for it but in order to do it u have to do a round off into it to get momentum
you are so good
Right here is a LEGEND! and thanks for helping me out. Now i can impress all my friends
I love your videos man super easy to understand and the clone effect u did was also a nice touch
Ronnie please help me, I can do it on flat ground, but I over rotate it off heights.
Tuck a little less tight. This will help you spin a little bit slower and then get a good rotation. Or, as he said on the video, untuck more sooner.
I know all steps and I know that I will do a backflip then when I try backflip I am soooo lose
Great Back Flip Tutorial!
I admire your inspiration and passion.. Great video.. Keep up the hard work..
im one years old and watched it and i fliped perfect
+youtube lover I agree how can a 12 month old baby write if they can't even walk properly
why was santa doing a backflip of a chimney?????
Man, you are awesome. Thanks for the great video!
Now re-watching this tutorial and taking notes ump*... days/months later, this is extremely informative. FAVORITE! Tq.
I can do a backflip but cant lad it
I think it will help if you snap and grab faster with your knees and KICK as hard as you can so you can get more momentum, or recover it by rolling if you can't land it, hey just keep trying until you feel the motion and more comfortable
This helped me understand what am I doing wrong.
Thanks for making this video,I know is an old video, but this is my first time watching.
Im new want to learn badly. Plz keep the videos comin. Your a great teacher good videos got my sub.
That an lds church ur in?
Ronnie Street Stunts Morning basketball at the church? I think yes. ;)
Hey guy, you are so clearly on explanation, Thanks for share you knowledge. I'm Brazilian and I enjoy Parkour.
I appreciate this, this is my first prep for learning a cheat gainer
Sorry you lost me at 1:50
is it good to practise backflip in a deep pool
I learned too do a backflip from an edge that was about 1 meter above the water, and then I did it on a normal edge like 1 decimeter above the water, but I didn't jump far enough out from the edge and I hit the top of my head on the edge, it was pretty painful but I only got a bruise from it, I did it again a few times after that, just to prove to myself that I could still do it, but everytime I did it I got superscared when I am upside down, and it's not fun to do anymore, so i would say if you try it on a pool the most important thing is to get far away from the edge!
Wow this is really helpful! I am hoping to use this stunt in one of my future videos! Thanks:)
I'm glad you brought up the ledge none of the other videos really mentioned that
The amount of children here is extremely high...
This helper me a lot- thanx Ronnie!
I’ve been able to do them for a while now, I did not have any friends to help me out. You really just have to do it and hope for the best.
Are you mormon? Cuz 1. That
Gym looks like it's from an LDS church and 2. You did a backflip in the salt flats which is in Utah. (I'm mormon too)
He's mormon.

This vid was super helpful
Was trying to backflip on a trampoline yesterday, bailed out and died.
I landed on my neck and it folded my head to my chest.
I didn't die though it was painful so I kept trying.
Thanks for making these awesome videos Ronnie.
