- Join a group of spearos on a dive in the seas of Auckland's Hauraki Gulf. On this dive we are spear fishing for Snapper, Koheru and Trevally in New Zealand (South Pacific). Along the way we encounter some angry Bronze Whaler Sharks and get some interesting spearfishing footage. As a by product we encounter some bold snapper that are piloting the sharks.

In NZ our petrol stations stock normal ice and salt water ice. You can possibly search how to make salt flake ice with an ice machine - I am not sure.

I videod something similar off the rocks one time - a large school of snapper and a bronzie in the berley trail, there seemed to be some relationship with the 2 species.

This is freedive spearfishing - we don’t hunt underwater on scuba.

Starting at 9:46 "[ ] quite a few good fish sort-of *dotted* around and ahh that was pretty cool so I knew that was a *spot* that would... [ ]" Okay, enough of the puns, what type of fish are those? The dotted and spotty, dark blue-black ones? You must see some pretty sites when you're out there. Have you dived _The Poor Knights_ at all?
I was talking about snapper being dotted around in the dive spot so that’s why it would produce as snapper are hard to find. It had nothing to do with dotted fish but maybe you are looking at the 2 spot demoiselles (chromis dispilus).

Over summer dropped my twin bro into the drink to spear a king or too. I dropped down a softie. Heard yelling and LOTS OF SPLASHING so very quickly reeled in the softie and motored over to him. A bronzie got the munchies and took a liking to his fins. Luckily he wasnt injured

@@AquaticRehabSpearfishing Nah we didn't really care at the time. He went back in the water at a new spot only an hour later. The fins were just scratched looking like they'd been dragged on oysters but they were straight out the packaging. Very strange. He had to poke the shark a few times with his spear
I’ve had a lot of rams and fought a few off and had them brush past my fins but mouth open biting fins means they are trying to bite the diver, they don’t know fins are something different. I’d shoot a shark that bit my fins.

Jayden nah the shark doesn’t care about that I’ve swam with 100s in schools of fish. Can get hyped up around shot and lost fish or if there was two sharks can hype each other up. It’s too in depth for a youtube discussion haha but interesting story 🤙🏻 Chur
