If we care about the future of the economy, then we have to pay close attention to the policies that shape it.
We are currently living in an age of extreme -- and in certain cases, unprecedented -- levels of monetary and fiscal policy.
Is that wise? Or should market forces be allowed to play out more & free us from the constant intervention of the central planners?
To explore this, we welcome economist Dr Arthur Laffer. Dr Laffer was the first to hold the title of Chief Economist at the Office of Management and Budget in the early 1970s. He then later served as a member of President Reagan's Economic Policy Advisory Board. He's perhaps best known for developing the Laffer curve, a model for determining the optimal balance between tax revenues and economic growth.
Dr Laffer sees the major nations of the world declining into a sclerotic senescence. BUT...he sees a way for us to reverse that plight, on a timeline that could be much faster than many imagine is possible.
The key question is: Will we have the conviction, courage and commitment to embrace the necessary reforms?
For an important discussion with a respected economic advisor to nearly every President since Nixon, watch this video with Dr Art Laffer.

People in California love their Prop 13 rates. People who have been in their house for 25 years could pay 5x less than their neighbor who just purchased. What is a surprise is that the 25 year old Prop 13 grandfather rate is still higher than a new house in another tax friendly state!

The whole talk about "reverse" market crash (real estate and stock market) basically argues that we are nowhere near done with inflation and that we might actually experience "hyperinflation" in the near future combined with accelerating poverty levels across the nation or going thru a historical economic depression...those are the extreme conditions that have produced the reverse market crashes in most examples I've seen. I personally don't see anything that extreme coming, but who knows.

Consider reallocating from real estate to stocks. Severe recessions offer market buying opportunities with caution, as volatility can yield short-term trading prospects. Not financial advice but it may be wise to invest, as cash isn't ideal in this period. Pops it’s a total different animal. Property taxes are based on the greed of local governments. Counties in the various states don’t print money and need money to grow their bloated system. Salaries and retirements get first money, if there’s any left the balance goes to buildings, supplies, roads and schools. The answer is to cross party lines vote for politicians promoting reduced expenses, efficiency and less payroll overhead. Basically counties operating like a private business.

Yup transparency right after hospitals can deny service to those that don’t have coverage instead of having to serve them and then eat the cost of whatever they in the ER 100k bill? Sorry no speak English buy, healthcare is expensive because the next guideline he has coverage has to pay for both of them

    • @RationalEgoism
      @RationalEgoism 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

I support the price transparency, but a lot of the price discrepancy comes from having to make up losses from gov payers and people who don't pay. Restaurants are very competitive, but there's no law requiring them to tell you the price upfront. The gov also limits the number of hospitals and the number of doctors, keeping prices up.

In light of the current economic trends indicating a potential downturn in the stock market and an impending recession, coupled with falling inflation rates, investors are advised to consider diversifying their portfolios. Exploring alternative assets such as gold and crypto trading would be a strategic move to hedge against the expected market volatility and inflationary pressures. This approach is crucial in navigating the complex financial landscape shaped by fluctuating Federal Reserve policies and the broader economic climate........Amidst this the insights of a knowledgeable guide like Kerrie Farrell can be crucial. Her expertise in navigating the nuances of cryptocurrency investments has been the key to understanding and making the most of these emerging financial trends...managed to grow a nest egg of around 4 b,tc to a decent 21 b,tc in the space of a few months...

Exactly. As if workers should just keep working in poverty so the GDP is high. The rich should have to pay at the same tax rates as everyone else. Additionally, research proves a people with less income inequality are happier and healthier even if they have a little less on the total GDP. Inequality literally raises stress hormones that cause physical conditions and untimely death.

I love how every time that there is any issue in the economy, business people start talking about the SAME solutions every time. Democrat or republican. De-regulation, open trade, free trade.
Do NOT buy the BS. Ever since these “let business do business” pundits have gotten their way, what has happened? Jobs exported to other countries, GOOD regulations(those there to protect people) removed while bad regulations (those that allow businesses to fuck you over) are retained or added.
This guy lost me the moment he said Regan. Regan did more to hurt the US economy than any president in history. The STOCK market benefited, the regular American suffered. Slowly but surely they killed the middle class.

Because I respect and side with most of what Art believes and pushes, I’d like you to ask him a question about real estate next time. “How is institutional real estate companies, buyers, renters effecting the housing markets for the first time buyer? What common sense policy would make the market better for want to be home buyers….just to live in, not airBNB it. Thx

Can't wait for the property tax show. As an MAI from the '70s I always contest my assessment with logic they haven't even thought of. My adjusted assessment this year is 25% lower than what I paid for the house 20 years ago. My tax bill after senior discount is $382.

Say what you will if you agree with his stances on economic policy (personally I agree with most but not all), but Laffer is a pleasure to listen to, and his optimism and energy just lighted up my day (and he is just a damn good entertainer). These are the breed of man that we need at the Fed and in Congress.

I like tax cuts, but if you cut taxes cut spending on the other side. All politicians do is cut taxes and borrow the money to cover the taxes that would’ve been paid.
    That’s just dumb economics.
