Also Scottish - He was an arse back in the Iraq war years, as he admits now. He was like Bill O'Reilly, shouting down anyone who criticised the Bush clown-govt.
These days he's less aligned with the neo-cons it seems, but I have a hard time forgetting how nasty he was. I don't suddenly trust him just because he now says things that I agree with. I think Putin was dropping a clue when he said that he had applied to the C_A. It's very likely that he's one of theirs IMO.

I didn’t even know of this existence of this channel . I was in bed listening to something else on TH-cam and this interview started right after it , when I was already asleep . Suddenly I started to hear Tucker’s voice and I continue listening to it while I was parcially sleeping .
Than I turned it of and listened the to the rest in the morning .
I had no ideia that Tucker was such a fantastic person . I loved everything he said and the way he said it .
listening to Lex drone on and stumble over his own questions that take half an hour to get through are for me the literal cure for insomnia

I did the same last night but I got bad nightmares I saw my phone burning in bed and exposing toxic battery gas with bad smell. I lift the phone and it was hot, the parts started to falling apart because the adhesive was melting. Luckily I can rewind everything in my dreams and redo it. Then I woke up, it is indeed my phone is hot. Weird things happen when you listen to podcast and sleep at the same time.

It was from that interview that I changed my view on the Ukraine War
It’s not just interviewing, it’s the LENGTH the Format of the interview. TV/ Cable Can’t beat it.
I’ve literally cleaned my house, smoked a joint, had dinner and now I’m sitting in my backyard enjoying the end of the conversation. Absolutely LOVE long form and these two gentlemen are an interesting watch. 💯
Lex did this interview because he wants TH-cam ratings. Tucker is a voice piece for Putin.
And when we’re in a war in Europe, you’ll be the first one to run to Canada to do TH-cam preaching peace.

Little does he realize that it is our environment that creates such behavior. Competitive environments are responsible for the vast majority of anti-social behaviors. And the richer and more powerful you are? The worse the abhorrent behaviors become as well. As Dr Brown once famously stated, "If I were not studying psychopaths in the state penitentiary? I'd be studying them on Wall st."
I will add that the reason S Korea is sliding down hill (like Japan and many other 'Americanized' cultures) is in decline, is because of the adoption of the invalid ideologies embedded in american culture. The western cultures have forgotten that the word society literally translates from Latin as a Social Enterprise, not an economic one, not a group of 'Individuals" out to get rich. Which is the only guiding light in most western cultures today. From school everyone is taught to "Be Successful", Instead of being good people......

The interviewer shouldn't present themselves as an expert, because most are not--they're just talking heads that have been briefed by their teams. The best way to interview is to have a discussion, understand what the subject thinks and feels, and try to get them to be honest about both. Exactly what Lex does.

You will also want to give everyone enough info so they can look for themselves and decide for themselves. There are plenty things in which I disagree with Tucker and I think his opinions miss the mark occasionally but I don't think he's known for wittingly or intentionally deceiving or spreading falsehoods. If you can prove otherwise I will be glad to listen and make a more informed decision once you've made an attempt at proving your claim.

Did not start listening to the conversation yet but the introduction alone is gold. Well said!
I was born and raised behind the Iron Curtain, and I can assure that anyone who hasn't lived in a totalitarian/police State, doesn't have, and can't have a clue about how it operates. I recall seeing lots of construction equipment, many trucks arriving loaded with materials, hundreds or thousands of people being moved, and we all knew that it was because someone important was coming to town. The front of houses being painted, just the front, streets cleaned, stores stocked up, old cars moved away, a wall going up here and there to block the view of certain areas that looked rundown, plants and flowers planted, lawn brought in, workers wearing new uniforms, and so much more. Believe it or not, after the caravan of the leader, or leaders passed by, everything that could be taken back, was taken, including the flags people were given to people to wave at the dignitaries, the uniforms had to be returned as well, it was all a charade. A dictator has powers unknown to free peoples.
The described is about a week state which needs to give an impression like it's more capable than it is. A strong state doesn't have to do those things so thoroughly, whether it's totalitarian or not

In a free society you can't go and make people go to a parade they don't want to go, and, or chant long life for some one who they wish gone. A dictator has the power to do as he wishes, it could be the other way around, they can march people through a killing field to send a message to the populace. Again, those who didn't experience it, will never know the terror those governments can spread out, and how much control they have, which is a good thing, it's great not to have been in such places.

I’ve been enjoying this interview this morning. I’ve been reconsidering my opinion on Tucker Carlson recently and this interview is fantastic for looking into his mind. I’m frustrated with myself for not being more open minded to him previously. Thank you, Lex!
Because we almost always have more in common than we don't. Above all we all love and care about our families. It's the power hungry prostitutes that lost their way, if they ever had moral compass, and can't see past funding their re-election or reappointment that divide us and taint our views on people we've never met. I’m not sure the answer is what they mean.
The only thing that I could see as correct from my personal experience.
Everything becomes like ash and the normal luxuries and large normal morally social stuff dies to save the children
Push comes to shove around loved ones or values in his mind is the only thing. You let go and do all you can to keep the children or values surrounding the kids first

This interview taught me that most political aisles are closer in thought than we often realize. It's clear that there is a small group of powerful people very invested in ensuring everyone is as divided as possible, and bickering with each other as much as possible, so that we don't see what is really going on.

I am open minded to your perspective about not "grilling" your guests, and I think your ability to speak to and respect everyone is admirable, necessary, and rare. Thank you for that.
That said, I believe some people can remain safe within their talking points if they aren't adequately challenged. I think guests with notable opinions and experiences should feel comfortable being respectfully asked direct questions from a well-meaning interviewer and not become defensive. The worst they can do is refuse to answer the question, which is itself an answer to the public.

This is in regards to Lex's remarks regarding Lex. Lex is perfectly charismatic and his demeanor compliments his charisma just so. The difficulty of his questions is enough to challenge his counter part without putting them off or excite them into answers that are embellished or untrue altogether. I think you do a terrific job and you're very interesting to watch long form. Pay no mind to them haters, even if they are you.

I actually loved the history lesson he gave of Russia. And I thought it was extremely nice of him to have this book put together for you with his history, because he recognized you as a history buff. I thought he was being respectful of your interests.

I'm no fan of Putin, but there is more than 1 view to every conflict. Much of what he says may be propaganda, but civility has to start somewhere. Eventually, someone has to trust some things the other side says, or there will be no end to the conflict. I trust the US government almost as little as I trust Putin, but I love the US and what it used to represent. Maybe someday we will become trustworthy again, but it needs to start by not trying to jail the other party 😉 Between Putin and Biden, I am not sure who I trust least, and that can be scary.
