- This is a promotional film made by Capitol Records to promote records starring "Bozo The Capitol Clown," the character created by Alan W. Livingston. This film would be sent to record and department stores in the early 1950s and played before the appearance of a live Bozo. For a full, detailed explanation of this film, find the book "The Bozo Chronicles" by Thomas Holbrook. The film was directed by Elmo Williams. The world premiere was in Hutchinson, Kansas on April 7, 1951. In the film, Bozo is initially played by Pinto Colvig who voiced the Bozo records (Colvig is probably most famous for voicing Goofy) but other actors play Bozo in different parts of the film. The many Bozo records on the Capitol Records label sold multi-millions of copies and helped give Capitol the money to sign artists like Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Judy Garland and eventually the Beatles. In 1956, Capitol records sold the rights to the character.

I once wrote and published online a Batman 66 fanfiction story Batman R.I.P. In my story the Joker is on a rampage in Gotham City, and Batman-thinking it takes a clown to know a clown-enlists the aid of Bozo The Clown to help in the case. I used to love Bozo The Clown as a little boy. Just the sound of Bozo's voice makes me laugh. (My story also has a scene where Batman, Robin, Batgirl and Bozo are all pursued by a giant banana cream pie throwing machine!)
Finally, the original Bozo as done by Pinto Colvig (Goofy, Grumpy, Sleepy).

This is mabey one of the best clown sketch shows I've ever seen. One complaint: clown shows definitely should be in colour.
Now I see and understand why I have seen a particular toy doll of Bozo the clown and have always said it's not. Thank you for this upload it explains a lot even the doll.

The Beatles came later. First as a Skiffle and R&B group called The Quarrymen in 1957, and then several band member replacements and a genre change later became The Beatles in 1960

He probably did and was too busy producing animated package films like (Make Mine Music and The Three Caballeros) to care what any of his former employees were doing

@@Nick-ty9usWhy would he be angry? He performed the first and most famous iteration of one of the most popular clowns ever. It was a million dollar character. Unless I’m missing some huge Capitol/Disney fight, that should’ve made Disney confident to have Pinto voice Goofy. Besides, he was a very talented voice actor. It’s like having an MCU lead actor voicing an animated character today.

Yes. This was before the character became a major franchise on TV stations across the country when the rights were owned by Larry Harmon Productions.
