I mean, we’ve gone full circle as Quake was based on a tabletop DnD campaign. But yeah, I can see why people would be upset, since Bethesda and id (and Machine Games to a certain extent) have been teasing at a possible new game for awhile now. Especially because it seems that the evidence points to it being a brand new single player oriented game that has more of the first game’s Lovecraftian influence
What the fuck is this? OMG I cannot fucking wait to roll some dice to skillfully rocket jump across the arena. Come on Bethesda. I understand that other games have board games. But we have THE videogames. Quake Champions is only maintained by one single guy and you choose to pay a whole compay to create this? Man it feels sad to be a Quake player nowadays.
In a way, this makes my idea of 3D printing weapons from Quake Champions and converting Warhammer minis to make the QC cast (with magnetised weapons) a little redundant 😅
Judging from the art and font, It seems most likely based on quake 3 arena rather than the original. I would definitely prefer based on the original though.
Having played Pandemic, I guess I'm an outlier in preferring competitive games. In a competitive game, at least SOMEONE wins. The entire table losing to a pile of plastic and cardboard just feels anticlimactic and bad.
The concept of a co-op tabletop game that isn't a d&d-like or 40k is some silly shit to me. Are people really that pussified now, to be afraid of losing a game or of potential conflict? Losing strengthens you, builds crisis management/operation under stress, and by extension can help prepare you for the type of situation where losing could mean your life.

What the fuck...? That's all I can say, I've been waiting for a new Quake since 3 because I don't even acknowledge that trashpile known as Champions and they pull this shit. I am beyond disappointed and my day is ruined.
That's cool, but realistically, I couldn't give less of a fuck about board games. I appreciate the art and design of it all, but board games haven't been cool since the 80s. Board games aren't even worth my time.
LeChum, how much did ID pay you to release this video? Jk jk But on a serious note, this is neither a bad or a good thing for the franchise ... it's just probably quick cash for ID. My only hope is that, knowing the sales won't be that great (I mean, it's just for people that are into board games or want to collect these), ID won't get the wrong idea that if they ever release an actual Quake game, then said game will flop as hard as this will, cause let's be honest, they are aiming at the wrong market by making this. And the fact that it hasn't been advertised that much means they know is not really that important.
Sandy Petersen should have been involved. His expertise in board games was why he was brought on at id in the 1st place.
Great comment

i would love that with some of 'quake 2' mixed into it (like the quake 2 weapons and music style)
This remembers me when Valve announced Artifact while everyone was expecting Half Life 3.
I wonder how do rocket jump in board game XD.
3:58 😅
Damn, I was hyped for a second
Oof. Because we're not waiting long enough for another entry. Well have fun if you're into this, hope it's good
I hope to 😅

i will never stop quaking.
I hope it has good miniatures like the Devil May Cry Boardgame! that one is really fucking good.
"you guys dont own tables?" LUL oh man goated comment
Not really for Quake fans. This is just a board game company buying licenses for video game IPs.

this is blasphemy

You know what we need?
Lego quake
Eh?
There was also atleast one Doom board game. A crossover could be fun.

I do have Doom 3 board game, that is incredibly difficult for the marine players, because the ammo is too little, especially if there are 2-3 marines
Lame
Well it's something at least...
Perhaps if this a succes, it will convince Bethesda to give Quake anorher shot.
Its joever
Oh well at least you can buy, purchase and own the board 😂
I'M FEEEEEEELING MY DIIIIIISK
More Quake and F.E.A.R

Hey, I'll take it
Announced alongside a new singleplayer game, awesome. Just the board game... HUGE disappointment.
it's so over

deep rock galactic mentinoed!!!
As someone how got into dungeon crawler board games with the Doom (3) Board Game I have high hopes for this.
One hell of a way to say Quake as a franchise is dead. Just proves they don't want to actually make a Quake game, Singleplay or Multiplayer.
They made. In 2023
ID could have made a third-person hit-man like game where you play as Mynx. But no.
Who the fuck is Mynx?
bruhh
Ill buy it
At least its not a mobile game
is this an out of season april fools joke lol
thats why CEOs are useless.

Glad for anyone who likes the genre, but not my cup of tea. Pass.
🙄
