I LOVE this video. I'm so upset with the hate marvel legends gets online! I'm an avid collector of marvel legends but have slowed down a bit due to collecting most of my wanted figures! I think they're great for all the reasons you laid out. I really appreciate this and this perspective as it's what I've been saying for years.
Thank you so much I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! I really try to collect all kinds of figure lines, but I felt like Marvel Legends wasn’t getting enough shine these days!
As a former Marvel Legends collector, the only things that really turned me off of Legends are the inconsistency with quality, lack of standard accessory quantity and articulation. After I started dabbling in imports, I couldn’t ignore the waist swivel, sometimes lack of waist articulation & paint, and questionable neck articulation like on the RYV Spidey buck.
As a Marvel Legends ONLY collector going back to the ToyBiz days..i believe that the recent RYV Spider Man & Amazing Fantasy bodies are the BEST Spider Man figures available! Anyways great video brother.. looking forward to more of your Marvel Legends reviews 👑
I’m glad somebody praises these. They have their problems but for a mass produced general market release for figures of these beloved characters I’m happy with their quality
I'm a very easy pleaser with collection action figures and i've been in the game for over 20 years. There are some Spideys that are better than others but i don't ever agree with anyone that thinks Marvel Legends is a garbage line. Is it perfect? No, but in general no figure is perfect. I'm glad i stumbled across this video as you share a lot of the opinions i have that tend to get dismissed
I think for anybody that wants to build a spider verse or wants to actually build a rogues gallery there’s no choice but to buy from hasbro, maybe that’s a bad thing, but there’s only so much money a person can spend, if every figure in the sinister 6 is 100$ from mafex, then the resellers bump it up another 40-100$ nobody would want to collect them. I’ve had my eye on the mafex blue suit wolverine for like 3 years now, but even after the reissue and buying my first mafex with the comic spidey this last year I couldn’t pull the trigger because it was just too much money to justify spending. Marvel legends 97 wolverine is a great stand in I feel, even with the inflated price it’s revived in the after market. Coming from an og toybiz collector it is disheartening to see the price point current marvel legends have, but at the same time it is better than any thing else out there.
Fantastic video. It's so refreshing to get a take from a slightly younger collector with a largely positive take on the line and clear understanding of its place in the industry, its strengths, and its limitations.
Needed to hear this. I like messing with my imports but I know I feel more comfortable messing with legends and I’m not afraid to man handle it a bit more. I guess, ones fun to pose and display and the other is fun to take with you wherever and just fidget with care free.
I’m glad that someone loves Marvel Legends. ML gets a lot of hate almost 20 years of making figures and all the work and effort is taken for granted. The most toxic fan base is marvel legends fans. There is no space to enjoy figures in the line, it’s a shame because there are some great figures.
i used to exclusively collect import figures but recently marvel legends have just improved so much to where they’re almost equal or even better than (sometimes) import or high priced figures and i very much prefer paying $25 instead of 60-100+ for a figure that does the same things and is way more durable and just pure fun and if anything a lot easier to replace just incase and most importantly with A LOT more variety of my favorite characters
I really enjoy collecting Marvel Legends (especially Spider-Man) because they’re just fun to mess around with from time to time. In fact, as I type this, I have the homecoming Spidey figure with me, and I really enjoy the look of articulation of this figure. Great video.
Edit: opinions aside, this was a beautifully put together video. Omg. How many times do ToyTubers need to retell the same exact history about the marvel legends line. At this point we all know. It’s crazy to me how the majority of praises you have for legends are detractors for me. Everything else they’ve released in the last few years have been riddled with flaws. I think we still deserve A LOT more from a legends spidey at the current prices. All I notice is legends cutting corners again and again. Yea mafex is $100, but how much have you spent on all those classic spideys over the years? I’ll likely never need to purchase another classic Spider-Man again. The amazing fantasy retro spidey is by far the best though. That is what EVERY marvel legend spidey should be.
Sorry you didn’t like the video man! I have a pretty small following and chances are a lot of people watching the video might not know all of the history, but I get it, if you’ve seen it a lot I can see why that could be annoying. I personally love my legends AND Mafex. I respect your opinion bro!!

Hasbro has completely eliminated the affordability factor for the Marvel Legends line. Since the global shutdown, the figures have become increasingly more scarce at retail. And online sellers mark the figures up to import levels without batting an eye. The line is plagued with quality control issues and Hasbro's constant cost cutting measures. In 2024, we are still receiving toys on the Bucky Cap and Sunfire body molds. Why are we still getting toys from 2012? Why is the Pizza-Spider-Man still being used? We shouldn't have to pay full price for outdated products.🙄 U put troop builders on bucks like that at a reduced price. Does anyone remember the S.H.I.E.L.D. troopers, Hydra soldiers or Skrull crew figures sold on Pulse? They were cheaper and used those old bodies. U don't get to put a new Animated Spider-Man paint job on those old bodies and charge premium price!🤦🏾♂️

i agree with most of the takes, especially accessibility and range of characters which is extremely important. but in 2024 especially, hasbro just isn’t doing their best to deliver great products for collectors, especially with their paint and overall engineering . lines like jada toys street fighter are confirmations that it can be done better.

5:33 legit got trauma flashbacks hearing this part because this exact thing happened to my first mafex figure - the spidey one with the metallic blue paint. not only that, but the knee joint broke too, so i have a spider man with superglued hands and a superglued knee. makes it a pain to articulate or even hold because i'm scared it'll shatter into fragments for holding it the wrong way.

All of the figures in your top 5 are only going to be found online. No one is going find Spider-Man 2099 on a store shelf and definitely not for $25. Most of those figures cost more than the average import.🤷🏽♂️
I see what you're saying. I guess my original point was that every figure I mentioned could be found at a Walmart or Target when it came out, and reasonably accessible. SM2099 for example came out almost a decade ago, I get why it wouldn't be around now, they even updated it since then!
@@finndeets I'm a Marvel Legends fan too so I can relate to your passion. It amazes me how much some of these figures go for on the secondary market. 🤯 I hope that u find many more figures that u enjoy. My favorite two Hasbro Spider-Man figures are the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man and Amazing Fantasy. I like teenage/college Peter Parker.
6:40 i think the biggest thing with black series (which you touched on a bit) is that most black series figures are majority new sculpt so they cant put as much budget into hands and stuff
Very good video just like the Mafex one. I've been mainly buying imports recently, however I respect the lane that 1-12 scale domestic figures have. If I had to buy just one, id pick the import first, however in a perfect world, I'd get both. I think you were a little harsh on Mafex about QC or Price, however I do acknowledge those problems exist. I love the editing and the format of this video especially You've made that amazing fantasy spider-man a lot more enticing for me so I'd say job well done. I think ML, Jada, McFarlane and others in this lane have issues too, however we as collectors need the affordable lane just as much as the import lane. One without the other leads to the death of the industry as we know it
spider-man is the only character they’re consistent with, but that doesn’t mean that they’re consistent as a whole. even then good luck finding a spider-man you actually want on the shelves, they miss the mark way too often
The distribution is something i should’ve touched on in the video for sure. Says a lot that i tried getting footage of marvel legend Spiderman on the pegs at Walmart and Target and REALLY had trouble finding some
I think that all Spider-Man figures should come with four sets of hands. Web slinging hands, web crawling hands, fist hands and web grabbing hands. And good web accessories for crying out loud. The web accessories that come with some of the Spider-Man are simply out dated and stink.
I can pick up a legends and pose away and not worry about any breakages. Legends at base level are really good. And affordable. Well more affordable then others
Although import companies give us different artist versions of Spider-Man like the amazing yamaguchi spider man I think is based on Humberto Ramos art or spider man.
Dude it’s a necessity. Icons was probably the closest we’ve gotten to a perfect line but they were too small and fragile. It’s such a bummer. Mcfarlane isn’t my favorite line, I wish i could just walk into walmart and find a Batman that’s 6 inches and matches with Legends quality
I would Marvel Legends Spider-Man. IF I COULD FIND ONE. Non of the places in my town have a classic Spider-Man or one of the cooler alt Spideys like Superior in stock
honestly...the points you have are valid. they have a lot in terms of variety and the prices are reasonable...(sometimes) i may actually start tryna get my hands on some other spidey variants and maybe some villains...(gotta get shocker first for the M E M E S my boy...THE MEMES)...buttt yeah-my only complain are some figures are more difficult to get-like green goblin...rhino electro ect-it sucks honestly but hey, chances r hasbro'll make another version of em so but i agree with you marvel legends spidermen are great!
Legends get too much flack for stuff that other toy companies do on the regular like reuse of moulds and putting out big name characters on the regular. Funny thing is though I didn't get a Marvel Legends Spider-Man until 2022 with the Renew Your Vows figure and the Amazing Fantasy figure and I started collecting the line in 2020. Spider-Man figures prior to 2022 were rare and hard to get at reasonable prices, the retro carded figure was 100 bucks at one point which is crazy. Or the figures were outdated like with Pizza Spidey so new collectors were kind of out of luck on good Spider-Man figures. Marvel Legends are the main thing I collect and they do not disappoint, they're the best line for world building and the sheer diversity of characters they have is astounding. You can army build, team build, have a hall of armors, they have great villains and they're affordable (for the most part). Plus they're also great for kitbashing and customs.
The Mafex Spidey is a great figure, and one of the best in my collection… but the Amazing Friends Spider-Man is my favorite figure of Spider-Man, it’s so much more fun
I think the Alfred Molina Ock is great. While I think Marvel Legends are a nice line and you get some figures that would probably otherwise never get made? I think Hasbro needs to improve. $25 is steep for what you get. Id also criticize Black series for this. For $25 you are lucky to get alternate hands and one accessory. Some black series figures only come with a blaster. Legends can be incredibly hit and miss imo. Some have great likenesses. Those Legends Toby, Andrew, and Tom Holland are pretty solid. The Hugh Jackman face sculpt looks pretty solid on the upcoming wolverine. I think the issue is Hasbro has to pay Disney so much for the license. Its kind of silly that for a little more I could get the NECA 7" Back to the Future figures. And while you can find some at Ollies? These are figures that were either made in such high quantity that stores cant move them. Or they are figures that didnt sell because people didnt like the show/character. I.e. last jedi/acolyte, etc. We saw it with the adventure series too. I thought Hasbro did a pretty nice job with the raiders Indy. There were some issues with it like the belt. But he came with alternate hands, a coiled and uncoiled whip. Revolver and satchel, the cherubs for building the ark of the covenant and the fertility idol. That doesn't translate to other figures in the line and some figures have a fair bit of recycling. The Cairo Indy had a different shirt sculpt but cost $35 and you got fewer accessories with a repacked monkey from Marion. Then there is the issue the line felt incomplete and ended too soon. Heres a list of figures that would have sold better than Helena or any DoD figure... Raiders Monkey Man Cairo Swordsman Col. Dietrich Disguised Indy German Mechanic German soldier for army building Nepal Marion Closed Jacket Indy Temple of Doom Maharajah Willie Scort Lao Che Thuggee cultist Thuggee soldier Thuggee overseer Mola Ram Chatar Lau Sacrifice Willie Last Crusade Col. Vogel Elsa in her suit German bike soldier Last Crusade Salah Last Crusade Marcus Henry Sr. wounded Disguised Indy w/beret Disguised Indy as Zeppelin captain Fedora Panama Hat Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Old Indy Mutt Williams Old Marion Col. Irina Spalko Col. Dovchenki Russian Soldier Mac Harold Oxley KGB agent No one really cared enough about Dial to see it to make toys for said film worth producing. Hence why they were shoehorned into other waves. Im honestly surprised we even got Toht given how weak kneed Disney was about making a Mola ram figure. But they could have even expanded to the Indiana Jones games like they have for Star Wars. Infernal Machine Emperor's Tomb Fate of Atlantis and Sophia Hapgood.
@@finndeets np! I just had the Legends No Way Home spidey's arrive. I am thinking I may keep them carded. Maybe I will buy a 2nd set to open. Otherwise I may try posing the mafex with the Legends Ock/Goblin from No Way Home. I know my comment above was pretty critical. But Hasbro can absolutely make a win now and then. Like I said those head sculpts and the face printing tech they are using is pretty great. The dry brushing they did on Indy is something I wish that SHF had done on their Indy and that figure cost a lot more!
i agree with most points but the 25 dollar emphasis falls through when these figures can easily sell out before you can grab one and can become expensive third party even if a figure isn't sought after. the joys of collecting
@@finndeets worst part is I’m in Canada. Hahah. So it’s soooo annoying when I see the average American collector complain about a 5$ price hike… when it’s likely to end up at an Ollie’s or Ross in a month’s time. Meanwhile here it’s at launch or best of luck sourcing it later.
Marvel Legends has it’s place, but Hasbro figures compared to Imports; there’s no competition most of the time. I’ll go import over Hasbro every time for the same character.
I just relized no one ever talks about the Ultamite Spider-Man figure its actually pretty good but not that affordable since it’s 70 bucks on eBay so yeah
The fact that I don't need to look out for import figures to have the perfect iteration of my favorite character says all about ML. I don't love Mafex. To me it's never been worthy. I get that it is a nice figure, but if we think about it just a second, it really offers you a lot more than a Marvel Legends? I don't think so.
I think that a Mafex Spider-Man is often better than a ML Spidey but it all depends on what you’re looking for. For photography I really appreciate Mafex articulation but it’s just a little unnecessary for some people!
Interesting!! I feel like the only time I REALLY have trouble with them standing is some of the female figure, especially the ones in heels. Their feet are just SO SMALL
It’s just not fair when a Spider Man figure like the Secret Wars which is coming out soon comes with 2 heads and few extra hands compare to Titania she comes with an extra set of hands also not the same articulation, but we have to pay the exactly same price. We have now good female body why is Hasbro still using old moulds?
@@finndeets yeah. Don’t understand why they treating the female figures differently? Everywhere is all about Spider Man, Wolverine and Ironman. Why don’t we have a fully articulated Spider Woman? I bought the Captain Marvel/Doctor Doom 2 pack and Monica’s articulation is a joke.
Marvel Legends are just simple and fun,Mafex is peak but I keep them on display and pick up Legends to actually mess around and play with
Yeah same I get the ct toys though so I can play with them

@@finndeets I'm a Marvel Legends fan too so I can relate to your passion. It amazes me how much some of these figures go for on the secondary market. 🤯
I hope that u find many more figures that u enjoy. My favorite two Hasbro Spider-Man figures are the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man and Amazing Fantasy. I like teenage/college Peter Parker.
2 vids in 2 weeks is this luxury
More to come bro :)
6:40 i think the biggest thing with black series (which you touched on a bit) is that most black series figures are majority new sculpt so they cant put as much budget into hands and stuff
Great video Finn!!
Thank you sooo much man!!!
The marvel legends standards are becoming higher and I'm so happy about it
Very good video just like the Mafex one. I love the editing and the format of this video especially
You've made that amazing fantasy spider-man a lot more enticing for me so I'd say job well done. I think ML, Jada, McFarlane and others in this lane have issues too, however we as collectors need the affordable lane just as much as the import lane. One without the other leads to the death of the industry as we know it
That means a lot man thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
The goat toy biz
Cool video and no complaining about other TH-camrs! Subbed🎉
Thank you!!!
I will rest in peace when they make a HellFire Gala Spider-Man Suit please Hasbro pleaaaaase
spider-man is the only character they’re consistent with, but that doesn’t mean that they’re consistent as a whole. even then good luck finding a spider-man you actually want on the shelves, they miss the mark way too often
Agreed on all points!!
I own a Toybiz Spider-Man action figure from the late 90’s.
Hasbro has proven that they can make a good body mold with RYV. Why can't they continue to use that mold? Come on.
Great video man! Cheers!
Thank you bro!!
I can pick up a legends and pose away and not worry about any breakages. Legends at base level are really good. And affordable. Well more affordable then others
cttoys clears
Although import companies give us different artist versions of Spider-Man like the amazing yamaguchi spider man I think is based on Humberto Ramos art or spider man.
DC genuinely needs a marvel legends equivalent that’s not 7 inches
I bought a ml spider man one and when it arrived, I opened the windowless box and saw not a figure in there, but a pair of legs instead💀
That SUCKS
@@finndeets yeah
Name one time another company has reused molds
@@sampas07 literally all of them, mattel, McFarlane, Valaverse, even import companies reuse moulds, it's standard practice in the toy industry.
Wait they are gonna make a symbiote spiferman that has those mafex eyes with the small eyes head to
The Mafex Spidey is a great figure, and one of the best in my collection… but the Amazing Friends Spider-Man is my favorite figure of Spider-Man, it’s so much more fun
a legends being more fun than a mafex is crazy, mafex articulation is simple and easy but with way better range than ML
I agree I am broke my self so I just get marvel legends
go for cttoys, its cheaper than legends and 10x better
Raiders
Monkey Man
Cairo Swordsman
Col. Dietrich
Disguised Indy
German Mechanic
German soldier for army building
Nepal Marion
Closed Jacket Indy
Temple of Doom
Maharajah
Willie Scort
Lao Che
Thuggee cultist
Thuggee soldier
Thuggee overseer
Mola Ram
Chatar Lau
Sacrifice Willie
Last Crusade
Col. Vogel
Elsa in her suit
German bike soldier
Last Crusade Salah
Last Crusade Marcus
Henry Sr. wounded
Disguised Indy w/beret
Disguised Indy as Zeppelin captain
Fedora
Panama Hat
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Old Indy
Mutt Williams
Old Marion
Col. Irina Spalko
Col. Dovchenki
Russian Soldier
Mac
Harold Oxley
KGB agent
No one really cared enough about Dial to see it to make toys for said film worth producing. Hence why they were shoehorned into other waves.
Im honestly surprised we even got Toht given how weak kneed Disney was about making a Mola ram figure.
But they could have even expanded to the Indiana Jones games like they have for Star Wars.
Infernal Machine
Emperor's Tomb
Fate of Atlantis and Sophia Hapgood.
Totally get what you’re saying. It can be a mixed bag at times for sure. Thank you for the extensive comment!!!
10:16 the standard for spiderman hands needs to be fists, thwips, open/wallcrawl.
Definitely agree!
@@finndeets and extra would be web grabbing hands but that’s asking for a lot.
4:01 meanwhile for me in my country they were 18.99 for the longest time and then jumped up to between 36.99-44.99 now depending on the retailer.
That is so awful I’m sorry!
Totally get that!!
I just relized no one ever talks about the Ultamite Spider-Man figure its actually pretty good but not that affordable since it’s 70 bucks on eBay so yeah
Idc what company
If it is a spider-man or spider-man related figure
Me buy
Thanks for the video! What trays do you use for the extra hands and heads?
Lowes and Home Depot carry an incredible array of such storage cases in all shapes and sizes.
It’s from the craft/jewelry section at Walmart! It was like 2 bucks!
@@AlanDavidDoane nice I’ll look into it!
@@finndeets cool, thanks!
The toybiz figs used to be £7.99 in the uk
Insane!!!
Love or hate marvel legends, we have to admit they care about the characters more than Lego does
Oh EASILY
hey, may i ask whats your thought on marvel legends wolverine?
I didn’t know I had TH-cam premium
You almost made the cut too 🥱
Need more vids!
Are you going to do a vid on ct as a company?
I don't need to keep being forced to *BUY* Spider-Men in order to get new characters, though.
#NoMoreMultiPacks
Even though I don’t mess with legends the same way I used to I can respect this take. It’s also your fault I bought the amazing friends Spider-Man 😂
The fact that I don't need to look out for import figures to have the perfect iteration of my favorite character says all about ML.
To be honest I love Marvel Legends Spider-Man compared to Mafex, and SHF
I love them all, there’s something to love about each one!!
My legends fall, like a lot
Interesting!! I feel like the only time I REALLY have trouble with them standing is some of the female figure, especially the ones in heels. Their feet are just SO SMALL
Man they did use that buck more, they used it for so much stuff lol. That superior Spider-Man is on the pizza spidey body, no?
Nope it’s on a unique body mold from what I understand. The Pizza Spidey is completely different, besides maybe the legs?
@@finndeets hmm, you may be right. I don’t have one to compare against so I’ll take your word for it
Tailor made video for Boog
Literally 😂 Gotta love a Legends Spidey!!!!
Not everyone can afford imports and some marvel legends have good quality especially what’s coming out now
It’s just not fair when a Spider Man figure like the Secret Wars which is coming out soon comes with 2 heads and few extra hands compare to Titania she comes with an extra set of hands also not the same articulation, but we have to pay the exactly same price. We have now good female body why is Hasbro still using old moulds?
That is so real. I have no clue why they wouldn’t use the updated female bucks, it’s so frustrating when they don’t come with extra stuff
Great video man! I would love to collab sometime.
Take a page out of McFarlane’s book… There’s always a Batman available. every season should have a Spider-Man
What we REALLY need…is a Jada Toys Spider-Man (Marvel Vs Capcom?)
YES PLEASE!!!!!
Cool video. Subscribed
Thank you!!!
I have tons of problems with Marvel Legends, but their Spidey figures are always at least solid
Agreed!
Yeah but ct toys got dat new mafex 185 spidey
Other great video
Thank you, I’m so glad you liked it!!!
The only reason marvel legends is still going strong is bc spider man and the x men
Bro… Their is NO figs in Canada 😂
RIP sorry to hear that king
Great video for the poors. Jk jk, I really enjoy your vids, Finn. Can't wait for the next one.
Bryan you are the man!! Thank you!!

Appreciate u bro 🩵
Can you do an x men video because your my glipity gop glipity goat
Maybe one day, thank you for the love!!
When the dude often said that the figure costs 25$ but legends are imported figures for you and their prices almost like SHF and Figma
25 BUCKSSSSS? MATEEEEEE I NEED YOUR PRICES AUSTRALIA SUCKS 45 BUCKS PER LEGEND SOMETIMES 60
That is insane!!!!
