    I can’t believe it’s been 34 years since I rebuilt the 351 in my 77 f150, she’s still running strong, must have done something right lol, it’s nice to see bolt torque set to what it is and your done, none of this torque the bolt and then add 60 degrees more, it’s great to see old stuff being put together, thank you sir 👍😁

      @@davestewart9146 yeah I don’t like the torque to X and then turn another 33 1/3 degrees bolts lol. If it’s been 34 years then you must have done it right!

    Nice work! I put a 93 351 EFI roller in a 78 f250 for my buddy running a 4bbl carb he loves it... EFI is overrated as far as I'm concerned carbs are the best and always get you home... EFI can leave you anytime it wants 😂😂😂

      @@moparnut6286 you are exactly right. As I tell people you can stop at any parts store and get parts for a Holley carburetor but if you need parts for EFI you’re screwed lol. After I get these two 460 swaps done, I have a 1994 roller 351W that I will be putting a carburetor on and putting it in my mustang.

    What pistons are you using to actually get compression?.....I have a 75 Lincoln with the 7:1 smog engine. After I get some other projects done I am going to port the heads and probobly replace the pistons to hopefully get her up to at least 9:1

      @BlackLabGarage  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@yurimodin7333 the ones you see in this video are the 1987-1992 EFI pistons. I have another 460 that has flat tops in it. I talk about the pistons differences in another video of mine.

    Is the cam bearing bore in the block different sizes?? The reason I ask is becouse on a FE the ID of the cam bearing is the same 1 through 5, but the OD of the bearing is different front to back. I never put cam bearings in the 460 so I'm not sure about that engine.

    • @BlackLabGarage
      @BlackLabGarage  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jesseduke694 nope…the 460 has the same ID and OD on all cam bearings.

    I recently replaced all my seals and gaskets on my 429 and forgot that big washer that goes on the timing chain, I do have a double roller chain, not running a fuel pump cam, went with aces efi, what’s your thoughts? Put it back?

    • @BlackLabGarage
      @BlackLabGarage  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@brentbeiler7051 no don’t worry about that washer/slinger. Leave it out. That’s why I said most of the time there isn’t enough room for that washer/slinger when you add a double roller timing chain to the engine and that washer/slinger ends up getting ate by the timing chain.

    Did you put any lube on the oil pan gasket? I was told once to never put fingerprints on the bearings. Thoughts? Great video by the way.

    • @BlackLabGarage
      @BlackLabGarage  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@Skihist2 I did not lube the oil pan gasket. I’ve never heard that about not touching bearings. It’s never caused me any problems thru the years. Thank you for your kind words!

    • @jesseduke694
      @jesseduke694 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I've heard of that. It's just a myth. You can touch your bearings. Just make sure they have lube for when you turn it over.

    • @BlackLabGarage
      @BlackLabGarage  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@jesseduke694 I could see maybe not touching non coated bearings and then letting them sit for a while? That could possibly cause corrosion on the bearing surface? But if they are being installed and have lube on them, I can’t see it causing a problem.
