I love how this song's sadness doesn't come from loss of someone, but from Jaune being tired. Tired phisically, mentally and from always being the lovable idiot who can't help the people he holds dear. So basically a summary of the pain of having to be Jaune.
The art of Jaune meeting a baby Juniper is so precious 🤗. Like the song is about him giving into his depression, his despair...and all of a sudden a lil baby Jackalope comes along to offer his comfort 😭 . But it also stems from his coping with the fact he is literally stuck in time in an unfamiliar world without friends, family, and the guilt of what he did. 😢
You calling that out has made me come up with a crazy theory going into Volume 10. What if that song isn't just Jaune, but Pyrrha as well? She asks Jaune about destiny, learning she's going to become a maiden to help everyone, but fails in the end, fighting alone, like Jaune had with Penny, then Alex. I'm crossing my fingers Jaune doesn't die next season.
So this is actually his second song as far as I know, the first being "Cold". Which conveyed how he was afraid to believe in himself because he felt he would have been crushed, yet Pyrrha believed in him, and that gave him the strength to believe in himself. How her loss made him feel Cold, but he wouldn't forget what she had done for him, and the example she provided. I mean Forever Fall was Pyrrha's song, because it was about her and her feelings for Jaune, and how she would never give up on them. While also saying that she wouldn't stop believing in him. Yeah, my regards to songs are that if it is from the person's point of view, then it is there song... Edit: The song about the crafting of a world is the direct Monty Oum tribute, Cold is pretty much a double duty song that fits both story and real world sadness. Jaune at the loss of Pyrrha and the singer and staff's grief over the loss of Monty Oum... Kind of like how Pyrrha's death is basically a mirror for the loss of Monty Oum, they kind of seem to have made that a tribute in the show to him...

The song: *proceeds to be one of the saddest in the entire series* Me: *sobs uncontrollably* Seriously though, my man Jaune better be an absolute king by the end of the series. This boy has essentially had nothing wholly good happen to him since like halfway through volume three. All these Ls better come around to be a massive W.
I think there’s no W big enough for him, given how he’s basically lived a life and a half in another world by himself. I suspect that any he gets will be quite sad, and he’s just likely to die at or before the end at this point.
The only W that could make this all worth it is if Pyrrha was brought back. And we know that's impossible at this point. Killing Cinder and stopping Salem for good is basically isn't going to be nearly as satisfying for our Rusted Knight. Frankly for the Series finale he's likely going to end up alone. After all the time spent in the Ever After will likely lead to a major mental disconnect between him and his friends.
I do hate that none of the characters really even asked him if he was okay after all that, when they did it was mainly in a "are you crazy buddy?-" way than genuinely understanding how horrible that was- how long that was.
The Rusted Knight was tired. How many years was it? How many years has he been waiting, only to further wait, with no end in sight? He wanted to rest so badly, but knew that if he did, he would never wake up, to never see those he cherished dearly ever again. Why me? A question he kept asking himself over and over again, hoping that if he asked enough times, he would get his answer. But he knew, deep down, the true reason he was here. He is the reason that he ended up here in the first place. It would be so easy to blame it on other factors, on other people who had more impact than he ever did, but he was too wise to blame it on them, for he had time to reflect upon it, something he had too much of, he sometimes wondered. It was his choice to become a hero. It was his choice to endanger himself and others. It was his choice to not stop. It was his choice to continue on this journey. It was his choice to end a life that did not deserve it. Though he knew that there were events not entirely his fault, factors outside his control, he knew that ultimately what led him to where he was at was his decision to become a hero, a life he entered as a naive fool who didn't know better, but was forced to learn of the true meaning through the suffering and tragedy that life seemed to enjoy throwing at him. How much did life seem to find funny, throwing losses his way? His first true loss, he was too weak to stop, to change the mind of the one he had come to love. Then he had almost lost another that was dear to him because of his defiance, but he was able to save thanks to the strength he had unlocked. But in the end, he had lost one more who was close to him, by his hand and the strength that he built up to save a life, but was made to take one instead. If only it had ended there, if only he could die whilst he had suffered enough, instead of ending up in this world where logic did not exist. Then she appeared, the girl he believed was one of the nicest people to exist, someone he could help, a purpose he had found once more, the hero he had realised he was. But how expectations change when we least expect it, and how things we were sure of just turn on us. For the Knight, this was just another factor added to the list of others that made him suffer. Even when he was poisoned by the girl, the betrayal of what she had done hurt more than the poison itself. If only it had ended there, if only life didn't continued to make him live and continue to suffer. Conflict after conflict, tragedy after tragedy, loss after loss. It was all to much for the Knight. He was tired, tired of it all, tired that no matter how much he tried, no matter how much he trained, it was never enough. He just wanted it all to end, but knew that to give up now, he would never be reunited with his friends ever again. So he waited, and waited, and waited. But they still did not arrive, and he continued to be alone for so long. But he knew that eventually, they would come, he just had to wait a little more. Maybe when he would finally reunite with them, he could finally rest, knowing that he had succeeded in accomplishing something.
yeah, he lost his love, he lost his friend, he lost years and then nearly lost his mind. I just hope they won't brush away it all like it never happened in S10.

Jaune gets a new piece to add to his armour every time something breaks his heart. He shows up in full plate when he meets up with RWBY in the Ever After. I'm not crying, you are.

Jaune really goes through some great character development. Then they throw him into his greatest challenge yet; being truly alone. I think in volume 10 he will show how strong that challenge really made him.
This is the moment i break your heart and tell you that every creature in the Ever after is static. Juniper was "born" fully formed. But yes the art is adorable.
1:00 "and haunted By You" Who could this be? Penny? Pyrah? Team RWBY? Ozpin? Cinder? To many people... This boy has too many people that haunt him. If he doesn't get more closure that that weak ass hug he got in the previous volume I am going to riot.
I'll never understand why they had Ruby ascend and not Jaune. There's no denying that Ruby had a lot going on but I feel like the fact that the rest of her team seemed pretty much unaffected took away from it. Meanwhile we've got Jaune who has been getting abused by the world ever since the end of volume 3, had to kill a friend and then spend 20+ years on his own in the Ever After without a way to properly process his guilt and was by the end looking like he was one bad day away from going insane...and then he got fixed by a pep talk and a magic dagger?! I don't know, but considering how much of Ruby's problems were about her teammates expectations and her not opening up to them, and how much Jaune had built up Ascencion as something he dreaded above all else in the Ever After only to eventually learn it was nothing to be afraid of...I just personally feel like it would have made more sense for their fates to have been reversed.

I know Cold is Jeff's tribute to Monty, but i always felt like it doubled as a song by Jaune about Pyrrha, it is just amazing in that way as well and will always double up as such for me.
Thinking about it…I felt I could connect with this song…the lyrics and soft instruments are the embodiment of how it feels to just be so tired and drained from everything you’ve been through. And all you want now is to just rest…after al the struggle and hardship. You come to realize that…life was never easy…but it’s okay now. Because you’ve been through the worst of it. And who knows. Maybe there will be more challenges along the way…but the fact that you’ve made it this far… With what little hope you have left. Isn’t that enough?
I love Jaune, he needs some rest, hes lost so much, and the death of pyrrha, penny, and alex have been crushing him for many years, my boi needs to time to rest after everything
I really hope they let Jaune feel like a stranger coming back to remnant. After everything he went through, his eyes should be dull and cold, like the deep sea. He may put a smile on but the light never returns to his eyes, all you see is a dark knight who will protect those that can't defends themselves, and kill those that prey on them. For he does this....not for himself but for those he cherish that still give him strength.
Totally agree with you, but you saw how Jaune acted when got his young body back? Dunno why (cough v4-v5 cough) but I think CRWBY will make him half or less as dark as he should be
@@justacrusaderguy3320 He was first introduced as a sort of audience insert, since he doesn't know much about the world around him, or the world he's getting into. He's also the deuteragonist, the side-hero of the story, and does his best to be good enough.

I've said this since the start of the series, but while Ruby and her team are the main characters, Jaune is the Hero of the story. And it's nice to finally see some RESPECT to be put on his name.
Honestly yes. I wish they had at least kept the ponytail and at least a single grey streak of hair, just to show that despite being physically young again he was far from the teen that originally fell.
@@Loispealz34 Also keep in mind that it's possible Jaune will have some design changes in Volume10 since that tends to happen to characters every few volumes or so. Jaune's sword is still broken meaning there's potential for a weapon upgrade, and he could always grow the ponytail back as you said or get a new hair-cut altogether.
It seems to me that the Arch is being prepared for slaughter. From the very beginning, they stood out with such light strokes. Apart from the Hard Drive (which was needed as Ark's opponent), he is the only one whose prototype was not a fairy tale or mythological character, but a real historical figure. Of the R.W.B.Y and J.N.P.R teams, only he has a full family (there is nothing known about Nikons proctically). There is nothing to say about the lack of preparation. Then they began to break it. The death of Pira, self-flagellation for personal weakness, the shock of the news of Salem's immortality, the fall of Atlos, the murder of Penny, twenty years on a journey to Wonderland, the fact that Alex sent him - all this seriously affected his psyche. And after thinking about it, I understood. They make him someone who wants to die, but will live because of a self-imposed debt. And perhaps he will be the end of Salem. How? His passing. It is able to enhance the aura of the Arch and either 1)It can enhance someone else's aura, or 2)To transfer Ark's powerful aura to others. Let's conditionally accept the second option. Salem is immortal because of the curse of the gods, the curse itself is most likely attached to the soul and that's where Ark comes on the scene. There is such a principle: "What can be given, can be taken away." I think that during the final battle, in a fit of desperation, Jon will devour Salem's soul. After that, there are many possible options, I liked three of them: 1. Salem booth is locked locked in the body of the Arch. 2. Salem's soul will be assimilated. And since Salem's soul as such will no longer be there, the curse will be lifted, but the powers will pass to Jon. After that, the Arch will be completed automatically, in the name of the common good and in order to avoid, so to speak 3. Salem's soul will be digested, and Ark will become King Grimm. After that, he will go into self-imposed exile, simultaneously removing all the grimms from the Remnant (collecting them on Nameless)... So that in a few years / centuries / millenniums they will return and punish and reward people for all wars and atrocities, the number of which, in the absence of Grimm, will only increase.
Oh she's been in to Jaune since Volume 6 or 7. But you right, we need White Knight. We got Kara Eberle (VA for Weiss) being a big White Knight supporter since Volume 1.
No. While it is certainly a very good ship, Jaune is denser than Plutonium. And he's not interested. Any and all interest he had in relationships kinda died with Pyrrah. Mind you i am a certified Omnishipper and i'm still taking this stance. Not saying he doesn't deserve happiness, gods no, give this man a Hot cocoa, a blankie, and a very good show to watch, but i doubt he's willing to engage in a relationship. Especially after the timey wimey stuff.

@@Loispealz34 It may not make sense now since it's one-sided, but that mainly depends on the interactions we get in Volume10. Perhaps Jaune and Weiss will end up working together and growing closer overtime. Weiss will start loving Jaune not just for his appearance but for who he is, and maybe Jaune will start have feelings for Weiss again as he realizes she is now the amazing woman he viewed her as at Beacon.
I think I get it, what the song is about. The Man Out of Time, doesn't mean feeling misplaced or lost... Holy Crap, his favorite cereal and such... He was the White Rabbit in this tale, the one who was always late... Running around without rest, feeling like he was late to everything, and just lacking the patience to take in what was needed. So this song points out how Jaune always rushed into things, he usually never took time to plan outside spur of the moment things, and he was always rushing forward as if things would go bad if he didn't get there on time...or in time... But that after the time he spent in the world, the twenty years taught him patience. That him rushing into things was one of the reasons he failed alot, because he was impatient...
I honestly think that ya he did get converted back to a teenager but don't forget that he has about 10 years worth of battle experience since being in the ever after and I extremely hope that getting his youth back isn't the only thing he gets
Remember his line when he snapped in Chapter 7. He said that he will have to live with all of that in Remnant. It was only his design that was robbed, not the mental state. But we will just need to wait for Volume 10 to get greenlit.

@@cringeboy8864 Sadly, after being let down so many times, I just don't think they'll make him anything more than a "Problem" that Ruby or RWBY will magically solve in like the first 3 episodes of Volume 10.
The only thing I'll say is that most songs that are for certain characters would be sung by the corresponding gender. So Jeff would sing if it's for male cast but Casey would sing if it's from a female cast. I know Jeff isn't involved anymore but that rule still sticks in my mind. Regardless, it's definately from Jaunes perspective.
I really hate what they did to him at the end of V9. Spoilers below. Changing him back at the end, and not making him a stronger fighter. Everything Jaune went through will never be brought up again. Mark my words, it will be like nothing happened next valium. They might reference it jokingly, but nothing more. And that sucks.
At least he kept a bit of white hair. Ruby didn't even get that bit of proof of growth. I agree with you, I hate the idea of transforming a character only to reverse that change after that. It would have been way more interesting to keep him old and to see the consequences of this. I'm not even talking about him being a stronger fighter. Just him being really different from Nora and Ren from now on, would have been so interesting to explore.
I honestly think there might be something more then meats the eye maybe getting his age reversed isn't the only thing he gained also even If that isn't the case he has had at least 10 or so years of battle experience in the ever after so maybe he picked up some new tricks and strategies

He could have finally become the Huntsman she believed he could be. Imagine a stronger, smarter, battle hardened Jaune vs Cinder! But no. CRWBY dropped the ball. All his character development swapped away at the last minute.

To many people... This boy has too many people that haunt him. If he doesn't get more closure that that weak ass hug he got in the previous volume I am going to riot.
I'll never understand why they had Ruby ascend and not Jaune. There's no denying that Ruby had a lot going on but I feel like the fact that the rest of her team seemed pretty much unaffected took away from it.
Meanwhile we've got Jaune who has been getting abused by the world ever since the end of volume 3, had to kill a friend and then spend 20+ years on his own in the Ever After without a way to properly process his guilt and was by the end looking like he was one bad day away from going insane...and then he got fixed by a pep talk and a magic dagger?!
I don't know, but considering how much of Ruby's problems were about her teammates expectations and her not opening up to them, and how much Jaune had built up Ascencion as something he dreaded above all else in the Ever After only to eventually learn it was nothing to be afraid of...I just personally feel like it would have made more sense for their fates to have been reversed.

I really hope they let Jaune feel like a stranger coming back to remnant. After everything he went through, his eyes should be dull and cold, like the deep sea. He may put a smile on but the light never returns to his eyes, all you see is a dark knight who will protect those that can't defends themselves, and kill those that prey on them. For he does this....not for himself but for those he cherish that still give him strength.
I think his eyes should be full of wonder and love for the world he's been taken out of for so long.

Jaune has gone through so much. It's a miracle he is still (mostly) sane. But the writers keep making him look like a goofy clown for comic relief.

I've said this since the start of the series, but while Ruby and her team are the main characters, Jaune is the Hero of the story.

Jaune's sword is still broken meaning there's potential for a weapon upgrade, and he could always grow the ponytail back as you said or get a new hair-cut altogether.

It seems to me that the Arch is being prepared for slaughter.
From the very beginning, they stood out with such light strokes. Apart from the Hard Drive (which was needed as Ark's opponent), he is the only one whose prototype was not a fairy tale or mythological character, but a real historical figure. Of the R.W.B.Y and J.N.P.R teams, only he has a full family (there is nothing known about Nikons proctically). There is nothing to say about the lack of preparation.
Then they began to break it. The death of Pira, self-flagellation for personal weakness, the shock of the news of Salem's immortality, the fall of Atlos, the murder of Penny, twenty years on a journey to Wonderland, the fact that Alex sent him - all this seriously affected his psyche.
And after thinking about it, I understood. They make him someone who wants to die, but will live because of a self-imposed debt.
And perhaps he will be the end of Salem. How? His passing. It is able to enhance the aura of the Arch and either 1)It can enhance someone else's aura, or 2)To transfer Ark's powerful aura to others. Let's conditionally accept the second option.
Salem is immortal because of the curse of the gods, the curse itself is most likely attached to the soul and that's where Ark comes on the scene. There is such a principle: "What can be given, can be taken away." I think that during the final battle, in a fit of desperation, Jon will devour Salem's soul.
After that, there are many possible options, I liked three of them:
1. Salem booth is locked locked in the body of the Arch.
2. Salem's soul will be assimilated. And since Salem's soul as such will no longer be there, the curse will be lifted, but the powers will pass to Jon. After that, the Arch will be completed automatically, in the name of the common good and in order to avoid, so to speak
3. Salem's soul will be digested, and Ark will become King Grimm. After that, he will go into self-imposed exile, simultaneously removing all the grimms from the Remnant (collecting them on Nameless)... So that in a few years / centuries / millenniums they will return and punish and reward people for all wars and atrocities, the number of which, in the absence of Grimm, will only increase.
Honestly would love if all the videos were organised into volume playlists. Would make listening to a certain volume much easier.

No. While it is certainly a very good ship, Jaune is denser than Plutonium. And he's not interested. Any and all interest he had in relationships kinda died with Pyrrah.
Mind you i am a certified Omnishipper and i'm still taking this stance. Not saying he doesn't deserve happiness, gods no, give this man a Hot cocoa, a blankie, and a very good show to watch, but i doubt he's willing to engage in a relationship. Especially after the timey wimey stuff.

@@Loispealz34 It may not make sense now since it's one-sided, but that mainly depends on the interactions we get in Volume10. Perhaps Jaune and Weiss will end up working together and growing closer overtime. Weiss will start loving Jaune not just for his appearance but for who he is, and maybe Jaune will start have feelings for Weiss again as he realizes she is now the amazing woman he viewed her as at Beacon.

I think I get it, what the song is about. The Man Out of Time, doesn't mean feeling misplaced or lost...
Holy Crap, his favorite cereal and such... He was the White Rabbit in this tale, the one who was always late... Running around without rest, feeling like he was late to everything, and just lacking the patience to take in what was needed.
So this song points out how Jaune always rushed into things, he usually never took time to plan outside spur of the moment things, and he was always rushing forward as if things would go bad if he didn't get there on time...or in time...
But that after the time he spent in the world, the twenty years taught him patience. That him rushing into things was one of the reasons he failed alot, because he was impatient...

I cant believe they went from this design back to Flavour Town, as if all that Development didn't happen. Jaune stays getting robbed by the writers.
I honestly think that ya he did get converted back to a teenager but don't forget that he has about 10 years worth of battle experience since being in the ever after and I extremely hope that getting his youth back isn't the only thing he gets
Remember his line when he snapped in Chapter 7. He said that he will have to live with all of that in Remnant. It was only his design that was robbed, not the mental state. But we will just need to wait for Volume 10 to get greenlit.

The only thing I'll say is that most songs that are for certain characters would be sung by the corresponding gender. So Jeff would sing if it's for male cast but Casey would sing if it's from a female cast. I know Jeff isn't involved anymore but that rule still sticks in my mind.

At least he kept a bit of white hair. Ruby didn't even get that bit of proof of growth. I agree with you, I hate the idea of transforming a character only to reverse that change after that. It would have been way more interesting to keep him old and to see the consequences of this. I'm not even talking about him being a stronger fighter. Just him being really different from Nora and Ren from now on, would have been so interesting to explore.
