He needs a helmet and jock strap. Don't want him to turn into that Dwarf from the Hobbit with an axe in his head. Appreciate that he called this safety concern out at the end of the video
a helmet isn't terribly useful against a mace, go figure against a 3kg object. Yes it might reduce the caved in skull but you are still rocking the brain causing internal bleeding and possibly breaking the neck. Helmets are more against glancing hits
@@marcogenovesi8570Better we crack a helmet than a skull though. You might get a concussion with a helmet and it'll aborb much of the force. You're going to break your skull open without one. Ever wondered why they started wearing helmets in world war one?
@@kirbyis4ever the helmet does not magically eat the impact force of a mace and much less of a 3kg object. Unless you deflect it, you are still dead with TBI (traumatic brain injury) and possibly a broken neck even if the skull is not cracked. If you want protection from that you need a full exoskeleton (or a vehicle) that can actually tank the impact for you. They wore helmets in WW1 mostly for shrapnel and other small stuff thrown around by artillery, not for melee combat, nor for guns. Even modern helmets barely stop pistols and still leave you in a bad shape after the hit. Helmets designed for melee were very common in middle ages and renaissance but they were mostly for glancing blows and deflections. A direct hit with a mace or a polearm would still take you down.
I legitimately thought you would be lucky to be able to catch it one out of like 10 times, but the consistency you were able to achieve and the combos was amazing. Awesome video, good luck with the new channel!
I'd say, name the test dummy the Mark 1, so when you've totally destroyed it, you can get a new one and that'll be the Mark 2 onwards, just like Iron Man's suits!
Seeing you swing that about on the rubber band my first thoughts were, "He's going to take his knee out", followed by, "That looks like a lot of fun." A surprise, but a welcome one indeed.
Name the target 'Bruce' - like your enthusiasm Tyranth - great work. Was very surprising how well you could catch it and use it again on a return. Nice job!
Man I love the concept, the range/veriety of moves and it looks really usable. Now I want a well thought through version of this, smaller hammer, everything well constructed so you can swing it hard and then train and get good with it.
Dude this was so badass!the way you handled Thors hammer when it came back to you was really good.Cant believe you actualy made a returning throwing hammer, this was fantastic Tyranth.
the way he's spinning it. isn't there a Japanese weapon that has a spike or mace head on a very long chain? (or is that just a fantasy thing) I remember seeing someone throwing it around like deadly ribbon dancing. This video would be a good reference for the movies to feel grounded.
Kusarigama were usually (but not always) small hand-axe like scythes with chains attached to them. The other end of the chain contains a counterweight which allows for impressive control - leading to demonstrations that look like deadly ribbon dancing.
I've seen your skill to an extent during cutting and tests on Shad's channel, but the fact that you were able to just start swinging that thing around with such dexterity is insane. You are very naturally gifted with these things.
I'm stuck between awe of watching him use it so well and extreme anxiety of it proximity to his shins. I'd have to be wearing grieves with additional heavy padding to tolerate that.
Oh MY GOD TYRANT!! DUDE YOU R INSANELY GOOD WITH IT! I couldn't believe the tricks you did with that returning system. Didn't believe it would be even possible. Damn dude! Also about name for your "Boromir"😅 Tony, Sutr, Ultron, = SulTron'y (the 'Y' is silent😉)
Forget Mjolnir, practice saying 'a-lu-min-ium' ;P Great video by the way, I think you're great on Shadiversity and Knight's Watch so I'm on board for this ride too.
@@shawnwolf5961 I'm American and here to tell you that "Aluminium" is the original and everyone else uses the original. As usual, us pig-headed Americans couldn't change an inch to keep pace with the rest of the world.
This was so good I think you should present shad with doing a whole testing video on weapons attached by bungee cord, because unlike rope, rubber bands actually seems to be somewhat practical
@ScreenTested this was wicked cool. Word to the wise since you've been doing this for a long time so .. but during the coconut smashing thing pls wear eye protection because the little shell fragments fly all over the place ... ignore if this isnt an actual concern.. again amazing display of skill ( both shop work skill and with the weapon catching)
Duuude, every single time you threw that I was going in my head "please don't get hurt, please don't get hurt, please don't get hurt" I'm glad everything went as well.
I would not want to use that as an actual weapon but it looks like a hella fun afternoon workout swinging that thing around and trying to thwack the dummy. 😁
This channel has such a fun idea for content. Saw you there over at Shad’s and made my way here. Very cool! Snake Eye’s tonfa blades would be a interesting weapon to test.
Another awesome video. Great content and no one got hurt druing filming right ; ) But some great looking moves right there, it works and looks great on screen. Ultron would be a good name.
Because of the way you picked this up pretty naturally, I think you could attach a rope and use it like a meteor hammer. Little more reach and controle with practice. Could make an interesting follow-up I think.
You made that look almost easy! Being a professional really shows when you make one of the most unwieldy things ever, into something truly badass. I'm so glad you didn't dent your skull or pop a grape. Shared, subscribed, and I wish I could like it twice.
I am so surprised how well it came back, you managed to throw it and catch by the handle multiple times in a row, I thought it would be as well controlled. I'm guessing the much heavier top of it make the handle comeback quite consistently.
A) This was totally badass! B) I was definitely concerned every time that giant piece of aluminum made its way towards your face, I am glad nothing went wrong C) Have been a fan since I first saw you on Shadiversity and then Knight's Watch. Love the fact you now have your own channel! I'll def be watching more! Also please don't brain yourself with one of these tests x_x
Awesome test here, I was very impressed with how it went, well done. I was deeply concerned for you knees here after the first couple throws. I would generally recommend that you wear your safety stuff for at least the first 2 or 3 tests since if something is going to go wrong, its often going to be before you get a feel for what your doing. Doing it and then determining if you need the safety based on that feels like a very dangerous way of dealing with things. That said, it was a good video regardless of my concerns there so once again, very well done.
Oh i forgot to put on notifications so i didnt notice this one until TH-cam recommended this video, lesson learned. Also really cool video im glad i didnt miss it completely.
Awesome Job Man!!! That was such a great video! I really loved how you were able to throw and catch it consistently! I would like to see you throw it at a target that the band doesn't have to stretch to reach and see how well the returning process works. What kind of defence could you use against this thing? I can't wait to see what you come out with next!!!
I didn’t really test it but it was relatively easy to have it “return” when it was just laying on the ground so I would assume it’s similar after hitting a target 👍🏼
I'm surprised and elated that it worked so well! The Avengers should be calling soon for your technical expertise of Asgardian weaponry. And I vote for Tony.
I got so drawn into this video seeing tyranth use that hammer with such finesse. Took a lot of balls to swing around a hammer on a rubber band, and sure as hell gained a lot of respect from me. Great video
It's a giant, elastic meteor hammer... Categorizing it doesn't make it any less terrifying. But at least it gives you a starting point for the kind of fighting style you would use with it.
This is quite similar to the weapon I saw in Legend of Chu and Han and Three Kingdoms each just once and also some Japanese documentary from much later period. It probably was in some way real weapon for duels or even combat. Not a regular weapon though and usable only by strongmen.
I found an old wooden mallet, and it was close enough in shape, that I used a grinder and shaped it basically into Mjolnier, and it's able to splatter the hardened ice between my tires
Fantastic how you made this work. I would never do it myself, but it was impressive. 😉 Musical greetings from Belgium, Gunther (singer and lyrics writer of Gabriel Scar)
He is worthy
As soon as I saw he was attaching a workout band to a metal hammer I thought, "Well, there goes Tyranth's front teeth and or testicles."
Well fortunately you were incorrect haha
@@ScreenTested you have to admit it would make it be a pretty interesting in second episode😂😂
