    I like the crab metaphor, I do see how mankind does that to each other. Being aware of that maybe we can help each other free ourselves from the bucket. Thanks for all the videos!

    Scientists brain-scanned young boys from around the world who are completely blind but who use the amazing ability of echo-location "to see" and discovered that their brains "re-wired" utilizing the visual cortex part of the brain. One blind boy's hearing had become so sensitive to sound that he could cycle a bike down a busy street while constantly "clicking", or walk down supermarket aisles, again "clicking", and know exactly where specific grocery items were just by the sonar returns he received. Jaw-dropping to watch.

    Is Aether the medium of consciousness? Could consciousness be an electrochemical-field phenomenon? Is the mind in the body, or does the body tune in the mind like a radio tunes in a radio station, making the brain an antenna of sorts?

    "You think of one I-self (spelled) as the primary and ultimate end of evolution. Yet there are, of course, other identities with many such I-selves, each as aware and independent as your own, while also being aware of the existence of a greater identity in which they have their being. Consciousness fulfills itself by knowing itself. The knowledge changes it, in your terms, into a greater gestalt that then tries to fulfill and know itself, and so forth."

    The idea/belief that what we call "inert" non-organic objects contain zero consciousness, ultimately, is a theory that we can't prove or disprove, ie an assumption, and only that.

  • @dominiclloyd6651

    To put it simply- consciousness is an action not a thing.

    do crabs really behave that way? ive never heard of that, but it really fits how humanity acts sometimes

  • @milzijex7340
    @milzijex7340 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    My theory of life has been that every particle, every atom 'knows' what the other is 'doing.' But the question remains, why is existence the way it is (love, pain, gravity, maths, opposites, mutations etc) and not any other? Why is it designed in this particular way? To me the hands of teleological creation are evident but I do not understand why create it in the first place. Sometimes the Universe acts like a recording that is already formed along a certain path.

    Like the white threads after watching this i have come to realize i am swimming in a mad sea of bastards and barstadettes? One really needs to define ones own consciousness?

  • @juicedawell2402
    @juicedawell2402 ปีที่แล้ว

    I feel like he's thinking too much about "why" anything else would need consciousness.
    Why do we need it? We don't.
    If you theorize that this existence is about accumulating experiences then it 100% makes sense that everything in existence would somehow be on a spectrum of consciousness.

      When I first heard the music I thought it was very outdated (I now understand why that is so) but after a while I found it charming and - more importantly- I connected it to this wonderful channel. Love by association!
      . (Plus: It's a ten second clip at beginning and end, surely you can get over it?!)

    The crabs-in-the-bucket metaphor has been frequently used in Mexico by mexicans to describe Mexican culture, that will stop being truthful some day, I hope soon...

    It was a great discussion and very interesting, but I was disappointed the moment the guest seemed to take ghosts seriously. There'd be actual evidence of them by now. They aren't real and pretending they are is a huge distraction to real progress and I found it pretty discouraging to hear this.

      There is 135 years of empirical investigation into the questions of survival after death, possession, apparitions, hauntings, reincarnation, near-death experience and poltergeists. The accumulated evidence is significant. There are also many interviews with experts on these questions on this video channel. See www.newthinkingallowed.com/Listings.htm for a complete, regularly updated, list of all interviews. Before you dismiss, out-of-hand, you might wish to start with the interview with Vernon Neppe, MD, titled The Chess Game From Beyond the Grave.

      I have been researching the paranormal all my life. This channel is the only one on youtube dealing with this subject! I would love really to join and discuss the subject. Anyway. about ghosts. Well, you have to exactly ask what you mean by ghosts?(yep) if you mean the countless cases, reports throughout history of this ghost phenomena then ABSOLUTELY, there is no doubt it is real. srsly this is the very first baby step. This phenomena is reall. But we all should ask.. WHAT ARE GHOSTS? if you are thinking of ghosts as conscious souls.. well that is a whole different question and I have no idea and I dont think there is enough evidence yet to confirm that ghosts are consciousness or not.. 99% of people talking about ghosts on this planet arent even giving what I just said any thought...

      Moonbogg, I recommend watching *My Ghost Story~caught on camera*, and don't stop after watching only a few episodes, there are six seasons with over seventy episodes, and each episode has five separate incidents.
