Holy moly gain=volume. Mind blown. I always wondered. Also, I finally know what those sliders on either side of the main slider do. Yeah, I'm totally a noob.

TechSmith says that Camtasia 2022 will be out in June. They haven't told us exactly when, but it's within the next 5 weeks.
I'm looking forward to its release, too!

This was really helpful. I've been wondering what gain is. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent hours recording videos today only to find out that my lapel mic wasn't picking up the audio. Lesson learned to triple check. In the meantime, is there any way to save the videos? Can I add both volume and gain, save the video, then import the saved video to Camtasia to add more volume again? Please help!!!

I'm glad this was helpful. If you want to boost the audio multiple times, I recommend using Audio Compression first. You can boost the gain there first, then boost the "regular" gain, and finally, drag the bar up if needed. With this workflow, you shouldn't have to export the video and then re-import to further boost the audio.
