Anybody else have heart eyes for Keith? 😍 Lol like not in a bad way, it just so warms my heart to see a man standing up and saying “men we need to do better”. How amazing when you were not raised like that! Thank you Sheila and Keith!

I spent a large part of my adolescence and young adulthood in the church that hosts XO Marriage and they’re wonderful and love the pastor, Jimmy Evans. They have such a passion for marriage. However, some of the marriage advice has harmed me and I’ve had to learn that the hard way.

❤I love this description of emotional safety at 40:44 also a few minutes later how Rebecca explains the difference between meeting only physical needs which would be emotional neglectful when she talks about her little boy

Great topic. And yes, I think many men are woefully ignorant about sex. This idea that with just have to give men sex has got to die.

"Be more sexual than you feel?" meaning don't show my authentic feelings? Force myself to act the opposite than how I feel? Those are instructions to betray my soul and the man I love. If he wants me to put on an act, that leads to faking orgasm just to get him off of me because I'm not feeling receptive or turned on. Then I have to pray about the resentment I feel being forced to act like a prostitute? Then he should pay me like a prostitute--no, I don't think that will build the lifetime of love and trust. I need a feeling of authentic acceptance of my real self and a feeling of SAFETY to enjoy sex. This is the opposite. I cannot in good conscience counsel any of my sisters or daughters to do this.

It is sad that XO Marriage podcast says these things. Their TH-cam channel has some good titles. I hope they will consider the things you are saying.

My husband once admitted he found me attractive when I was literally sobbing, wearing street clothes and a raincoat. Oi

@@starlingswallow no, but they were talking about how men need such and such to find their wives attractive and clearly that doesn’t apply to all guys 🤣

There is a christian book called None of These Diseases. There is a chapter called How to Have Great Sex. The solution is love your neighbour as you love yourself. Which means sex isn't just physical for either men or women. You have to involve each other's emotions.

So we got an email from one of our marriage leaders in our church about partnering with another church who is hosting an XO marriage conference. When I watched this video, I quickly rechecked the name of the conference and YUP… it’s an XO one. Yikes. Glad we didn’t sign up!!!

Obligatory sex is sooooo yucky! The fastest way of taking the ooomph and vroom vroom out of a woman's sex drive. Men have no idea what they are missing! And I feel like all these horrible messages men and women are getting in the church and society is making men lazy and women less likely to be in the mood 😢

It's also not understanding women. Lots of women think penises are ugly. Many women are aroused more by touch than by sight. So, when you send a women a picture of your penis, lots of women will feel grossed out rather than aroused.

      Who ISN’T grossed out?? barf 🤢 🗑️

Yes! That stupid myth that women have penis envy is crazy. The only people who have penis envy are men! This is caused by porn. What Keith calls phallic worship--great phrase!--is reinforced by porn and porn teaches boys and men that a woman will have an orgasm as soon as he enters her even if she's not even "warmed up". Then they try to make love to a woman and fail to arouse her. Thank God Keith and Sheila are filling the vast education gap between the clinical instruction that tells them nothing about women's pleasure and porn which not only lies to them but creates physiological reinforcement in their bodies and actually changes their brain chemistry, ruining so many marriages!

I would say that most body parts look weird and gross of your only taking a picture of that one part. For example, my husband has gorgeous feet, but if I didn't know him and he sent me a picture of them, it would be gross.
I find male genitalia to be absolutely GORGEOUS when it's a centerpiece to the whole body, because there is visual context to the image. It's when the picture is nothing more than a dick that it gets gross
