You metal polishers are in a league of your own. I'm an auto detailer, and deal with paint correction but couldn't imagine doing this day in and day out. Much respect to you metal polishers.
I know right, I was saying the same thing. Done lost count of the Alluminum polishing videos I've watched. Not one until now has went this much in depth. Hell I didn't even know to rake my wheel before adding compound until now. 😆
I really appreciate you going through each step. Especially using the rake on a new buff. Haven’t seen anyone include that in their process. Thanks bud!
I didn't know to do that either. Lol The other Polishers including the tall dude from Oklahoma doesn't mention or show it. I guess that's only included in their payed training segments. SMH
Some don't use the rake. I have all this for my own semi truck and polish it myself. My rake isn't from zephyr, but I don't use it because it doesn't seem to do anything but make the buff soft, in my opinion. But that's the particular rake I got, which again isn't from zephyr.
Thank you guys. I watched this video over and over again to make sure i had it right. I purchased the Zephyr Super Shine kit from Amazon and then bought the Show Stopper Wheel. I polished my work truck aluminum wheels and they are absolutely fabulous looking. Thank you for the help that you gave me with this video. BTW I have never polished aluminum before watching this video.
Wish I found this video 6 months ago! Learned a lot of cool tips and tricks! We have all your products at the shop but no one told me how to use them so I’ve been teaching myself, can’t wait to go to work tomorrow and finish the tank I started today! Thanks guys
Finally a really good explanation of how to do this right. After years n years of buying stupid stuff I finally know how to polish. PROPERLY. I’m saving to get an order from zypher and getting grinders for Xmas etc. A really fantastic tutorial well done. Your getting a big order from me.
Dude!!! Thank you so much for your time. I already have the final polish, but wanted to do more on my wheels and you sir just killed it. Thank you so much for this simple explanation of polishing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This really was a good video on the process. Could easily understand every word you said (not so in several other video's I watched) and you explained all the steps and products you used so there was no questions after watching.
Simple, straight n to the the point with a good result. Thank you sir, I was a bit worried about how complicated getting into wheels n bars would be but that's easy enough
I bought a Zephyr kit to polish the pontoons on my boat and it is way harder than I thought it would be. Of course that's because you're a bad ass and made it look easy. It's gonna take me a couple weekends to complete, but I think they'll look really good when I'm done. I didn't get the Por50 Eliminator in my kit, so after experimenting with different cleaners I had around the house, I found just soap and water best in between polishing wheels.
Amazing product and job! Would love to hire someone like you to use this and that same process on all of the aluminum on my motorcycle! Looks terrific, great job!
DUDE! I wish I wasn't almost 60. I could do that for a living. Looks like a lot of work, but you'll be appreciated at the end of the day. Great presentation.
I'm a truck driver that drives double trailers for a cement company, this video helped me out alo't I might make my own video of me and couple of people polishing our trailers.
Thanks guys...I'm going to try this on my wife's Tri-Toon...I cut it and polished it w/ some 3M marine stuff and a Girots buffer...just not where I want it...need it to shine like glass and have less drag on the water. Great video
Now this is how it's done, very clear and understanding 👏 mad company be tryna sell shit but don't explain a mf thing , dude u rock, will definitely be using this product on my trucks. Thanks 💪
Holy fuck such great content!!!!!! Very specific on how it works I always wondered how, until I spent 10min of my life watching this video and was excited like a fat kid in a candy shop 😁
People ask me all the time to do Aluminum boats or wheels on boat trailers. I tell them to go to hell honestly but now I'll send this video link to them and let them know they'll have company. Good vid. I'm still never going to polish metal, EVER!
I have a cargo trailer with a bunch of aluminum trim, fenders and diamond plate that was looking all sad, if you follow this dudes method with the zephyr products and have the actual desire to do it you can make your aluminum show the clouds in sky.... And it's actually prerty damn enjoyable.
my man thank you for the great video... wish i can show you my header board on my flat bed trailer. it needs work. definitely gonna but this product and try it
Great vid, I am polishing my Airstream following your advice, using Zephyr products, I am working on the lower panels to one side just to get used to it, I used yellow wheel with brown bar for the first cut at 3k RPM clean area with Mineral Spirit from H Depot then I went on to green/ purple wheel with green bar again at 3k RPM but I have noticed some clouding and some holograming .... what I am doing wrong to cause this affect and what do I do to get rid of them. Thanks
Awesome video, thank you man. Also do you think these cutting wheels would be safe to use on my aluminum side steps on my ‘10 freightliner cascadia? Or would they come apart.
I was having horrid results and I think I finally figured out the issue, I had these bars sitting in a hot shipping container for YEARS before I tried using them.... I was having a hell of a time with the tripoli, it just looked like crap and seemed to be doing more damage then good. I tried the purple pad and attempted to apply the green "Moss" to it, would NOT accept any compound at all. The compound was basically chalk. What a hard lesson to learn frankly...
I bought the super shine x kit and the first cut with the brown Tripoli bar looks the best.. then I switch to the joker wheel and the green bar and it barely wants to apply to the wheel. All that does is make smudges. Then I use the white wheel and the white bar and it makes it even worse. Not sure what’s going on here. I ordered it from amazon so I’m not sure.
@@motorizedmadness8567 Might be what happened to me, could not get the green bar to apply, basically melted the bar but would not take. Amazon seller might have had really old stock. I'm attempting to put them in a zip lock back with a light coat of extra virgin olive oil to see if I can get them to soften back up. The brown tripoli doesn't seem to dry out as fast as the others.
There are some jobs where you can't use a bench or stand mounted buffer due to the weight of the piece being worked. I'm surprised other companies that produce buffing products haven't figured this out.
I cant help but notice you never include proper hearing protection for safety, is there some reason for this? the high pitched noise of these buffer/grinders will cause hearing loss.
You mentioned the speeds you used. I know the tags on the wheels have a max recommended speed but where did you get the recommended or is that just what you use? Thanks in advanced. Great video.
QUESTION??? No sanding needed with this process? All other videos show sanding, I guess thats what the cutting compounds do? I just don't want to sand my pontoons 7 different times with 7 different grits...
Zephyr has by far the BEST polishing products on the market. BUT... BE CAREFUL... I buy on average one big bottle of Pro 40 a month, a few months ago I decided to buy some from Amazon. The seal was pealed back and when I shook it and squirted it out, it was like water. It was diluted at least 50% with water. I ONLY buy directly from Zephyr now.
Only thing I have questions about are speeds. From what I gather cut at 3500 second step same speed and finishing (I’m using the flannel) at 1500 any input would be awesome. Thanks for the video dude!
You metal polishers are in a league of your own. I'm an auto detailer, and deal with paint correction but couldn't imagine doing this day in and day out. Much respect to you metal polishers.
Finally someone that actually goes through every step

Jacob are you a polisher. Do you know how to polish aluminum?

Thank you.
Where is the products available ?
Thank you for sharing really appreciate it
Great video! How much for the entire kit?
Love the reflection of the Texas flag hanging on the door!
Awesome video, thank you man.
Also do you think these cutting wheels would be safe to use on my aluminum side steps on my ‘10 freightliner cascadia? Or would they come apart.
Other guys are saying you need to use 6K rpm polishers.
What are they missing?
I was having horrid results and I think I finally figured out the issue, I had these bars sitting in a hot shipping container for YEARS before I tried using them....

The brown tripoli doesn't seem to dry out as fast as the others.
looks great very good video ordered a kit
This guy kicks ass.
I need to know how you use a grinder to get the pits out of a pontoon boat…thanks
There are some jobs where you can't use a bench or stand mounted buffer due to the weight of the piece being worked. I'm surprised other companies that produce buffing products haven't figured this out.

Will this work on Dimond plate??? Or only smooth Surface
When done sanding do you also rake the heavy cut wheel such as a Blue baron wheel ? Or do you leave it as is and apply the stainless steel bar rouge
Any suggestions on how to do harder aluminum surfaces like aluminum railing on a houseboat?
You mentioned the speeds you used. I know the tags on the wheels have a max recommended speed but where did you get the recommended or is that just what you use? Thanks in advanced. Great video.
Great video!!
Thanks! Very good video.
QUESTION???
No sanding needed with this process? All other videos show sanding, I guess thats what the cutting compounds do? I just don't want to sand my pontoons 7 different times with 7 different grits...

Where would you start if the aluminum is not that bad?
Incredible,,, Looks amazing.... How long would it stay polished like this?
I'd also like to know

When is it necessary to use an extension for the threaded post of the grinder?
