Take me back for a better time. I'm in my late 20s now and I still long for those days desperately....Once I finish all my work and everything, maybe I can take some time to just escape back in my games...
Well, I was in the same boat in 2021, with all the covid madness especially. No certifiable skillset even. Anyway, I realized that it isn't about this life but eternity. Read the Bible. Jesus Christ, God the Creator, manifest in the flesh, paid for your sins with His own blood on the cross so that you could know God the Father and have eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. Get yourself a King James Bible and have faith. *and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.* John 10:28 KJB
Man i have all the time in the world and i can't enjoy games like i used to anymore.. I work only 3 months a year and i earn well enough to be completely free for 9 months. But i can't enjoy games because of depression, anxiety, stress, health issues, family matters and other problems in life. Every year i say to myself: after i finish my work, i will play games for the whole year. Then i finish my work and i'm not playing anything. I've wasted so much time by not playing games..
I love the PS1 era. The aesthetics, the technology, the music, the genius, the wonder--all of it. No surprise the PS1 still holds the best start-up of all.
@@12-OneTwo I'd say this is the period of time (90-2000) when cutting-edge entertainment started to become more accessible to the general public, some common characteristics of this in no particular order were: Developers with great ambitions hampered by hardware limitations, the aesthetics of "the future", experimental game design (gaming conventions like control schemes for example, weren't completely solidified yet); New genres coming out regularly due to this , the rise to prominence of three-dimensional environments and the pursuit of more "realistic" graphics, "jank" the phenomenon where gameplay mechanics have a defective, buggy or unpolished implementation leading to a deviation of the actual experience from the intended experience, lots and lots of shovelware. Noticing a lot of tracks that end up on Vaporwave albums in this mix. Brilliant stuff, this exact cross-section (90's PS1 ambience) is like my favorite kind of sound.
I love how experimental this era was. Composers just going ham on keyboards like the korg tritons and M1s cause they can make complex sounds and sample them into instruments. I would have loved to have been there with that creative buzz.
Agreed. PS1 is SO special to me, everything about it. From the unique graphics only seen in that era, to the slightly muffled and crunchy audio, to the wide variety of amazing games. PS1 is the best imo.
Back in those days, we were riding the technological wave, expecting it to get higher and higher im quality terms. Little we knew, it wasnt going to be exponential. We were at the highest point and we didnt realize.
It's still rising in some areas, but I think it will become increasingly uneven. I think many people will become more lazy and careless, and the proportion of impulsive people in the general population will grow, to cause a lot of inertia. But there will still be some new impressive stuff.
I don’t think your read on this is quite right. Technology has still improved in leaps and bounds, and the trajectory never really went anywhere. But remember that optimistic feeling everyone had about tech in the early 2000s? Where’d that go? I think the problem lies not in how good tech has gotten or the speed at which it does so, but rather what uses we have for it. Back then, the possibilities were endless. How was new tech gonna be used? We didn’t know, but it sure was going to improve our lives! But today it’s just used for stupid shit, like better weapons, more addictive social media, better stock trading algorithms, more surveillance, more ways to generate unending content, the list goes on. None of these improve our lives in any meaningful way, and the excitement of new tech is gone. AI sounded cool, but look at what it’s used for. Nobody’s excited for every conceivable thing to have AI slapped into it for no reason. Chatbots and more content. Whoopdifuckingdoo. Who cares. But I’m with you. I miss the old days too. And hell, maybe I think like this because I had no conception of the real world when I was a kid.
I mean, we did realize in a way. I was fantasizing like crazy, inspired by games looks, music and feel. I was stoked about videogames and the worlds they'd contain. Nowadays everything feels too much like a rushed re-hash (I know, everything is a remix ), saturated with low quality output not only in games but in many forms of mainstream creativity, adding up to a daily background noise that feels like too much and keeps many people like myself out of focus and numb. I'd just say I'm starting to grow old (mid 30s), and that comes with a price.
I fell asleep watching another one of your videos the other night and I guess this one came on afterwards. I could hear the music in my dreams - pretty trippy haha. Love the content!
I am always on the lookout for relaxing ambient, video game, or vapor wave mixes for productivity or just calming myself. This is one of the best I have come across. Feel totally ascended. Thank you so much for the bliss.
I bought a Steam Deck primarily to play old games on, and man let me tell you when I heard that first note at 8:00 it brought me back to my childhood playing through PE2 so many times because I wanted to unlock the magnum revolver
I'm currently going through Silent Hill 1-3 on the Deck (started 3 recently) and PE 1&2 will be next. I've been looking forward to those two games for a long time.

@@canobenitez "what happens if steam is in bankrupmcy?" Then hell has frozen over and at that point you will have better things to do than play video games. Serious answer: Steam already has an offline mode, it's unlimited as far as I know. You only need to log in to receive updates, achievements or to buy new games.
@@razmatazz9310 Yes, steam lets you play games that are already installed on the computer regardless of to which account they are assigned to (Steam lets you share games with people in this way but only one person can play the game at a time.) At one point when I started the mix, the billboard reminded me of Einhander, so I'm like "I bet it's the whole point". I was not surprised to find a track of it in the list.
