You'd do nothing wrong with this pedal but the question is if it you really need it. Such an expensive pedal is only useful when you play a lot double bass and very often and/or play faster than 200bpm. So in the beginning for learning all the basics a cheap pedal is good enough.
The original song has a triggered kick with a lot of attack in its sound and I think it would be very hard to overpower that with the softer natural sound of the bassdrum. Also with the trigger you can hear much better if I play precise or not ;)

i always thought the bass drum was played in 16th notes and i was always getting confused when i tried to play this song, now i know its in 16th note triplets
great! you know with Inferno's drumming style, you kind of never have enough chinese cymbals! (like a full xylophone set!) if Inferno would have his way, he would clone him self and give each of them like 12 chinese each! but Nergal stepped in and said: (nah it is already done, it is called "Slipknot".) and Inferno said: (WHAT??? do you realize i actually want to "PLAY" them and not just head bang 10 times more?) no hate on Slipknot really but they are like an orchestra where one guy some times play 1 note in the whole song and the next he plays the whole songs and the other guy gets not much... just that these guys head bang when they have nothing to do ;P i listened to a few albums from them, along to some Metallica, some Pantera and Dimmu borgir... (we all start somewhere and back in the days they had CDs and music stores filled to the brim with Britney spears and N-sync, how did i ever find a metal CD in all of that?) and some miracle happened, i went to a music instrument shop and the owner was eccentric, he had a Behemoth CD for sale! (the one with "Slaves Shall Serve" on it) now days i am more of a R2D2 fan... i mean Rings of Saturn ;P some Decrepit Birth too and that album from Behemoth... the Satanist had some thing missing... (i guess they did not focus on "hating" something ;P since it is a story about someone who worship Satan and not them showing how crappy other religions are like the usual... and i don't believe in much... maybe just choices since that what life is... my choices versus yours! and i choose for a light conscience since i cannot shed the weight off at will!)
