      how do i choke the stick " how many inch's from bottom (vs) how quick the rebound????" i've found out you can hit the middle of the stick on the snare rim and get an extra hit with no "effort needed " also im having trouble holding on to the stick with the left hand whyle blast beating ???

    • @wanjanechtangroeger
      @wanjanechtangroeger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pLayC I don't understand your first two questions. But the extra hit when hitting the rim is probably the gravity blast (just search for that on yt). Holding on to the left stick while blasting - well, that depends on which technique you are using. Make sure you hold the stick in a good and relaxed grip and if you are using flying fingers or push-pull it is absolutely normal to loose the stick often in the beginning ;)

    Great video, thanks for posting. Just wanted to remind drummers out there who want to play along with tracks that are beyond their current speed limit. TH-cam settings at the bottom of the screen allow you to select different playback speeds. For example, you can slow down the video to 75% or 50% of the original speed, or you can play it back at tempos faster than the original, up to twice as fast if you like. This creates a lot of exciting practice possibilities..

    Very good explanation for beginners man! Great job i really like your videos, killer as always and very well explained.
    If i can add up a little bit about blast beats, practicing basic rudiments like the Single Stroke Roll, Double Stroke open roll, triple stroke roll, paradiddle, paradiddle-diddle, ratamacue and flam taps can really help with the rebound feeling you should get at higher speed, adding ghost notes to these also help a lot with control. I usually like to practice on my pad to some rythmic songs so it is more enjoyable on the endurance side. (ex: Like Fire - Bloodbath, Death Walking Terror - Cannibal Corpse, Human Target - Six Feet Under...) Once you reach comfortably about 220 bpm, the challenge is to displace it around the kit while maintaining a clean uniform sound. I'm definitely getting there.. but man it's still hard.
    You inspire me a lot man! I'm considering switching all my single strokes to doubles because of you. Cheers!
