yep..25gr slugs are my go to in my Walther Reign .22( its only doing around 775fps) and ive done 2 rabbits at over 250 yards( Yes, over 250yards).So the Air Venturi Avenger at what ive seen at over 100fps faster( some cases well beyond that) should do a wee bit better at 250+ yards..i know ill get alot of flak about doing things with such anemic numbers, but i do tend to stretch the capabilities of said weapons...at 283 yards, off the bench and strapped in, with decades of shooting experience and ballistics study, with experimentation, these pcp air rifles can do lots..just wait til i try the .30 Gauntlet SL( i already know im going for extreme ranges with it)
I just bought this exact gun last week. It’s my first pcp, so I am in a steep learning curve. It’s like working up a load for a center fire rifle, but alot cheaper! By watching your video I figured out that you have the regulator set at 2400 and you turned the hammer spring in 2 turns. Was the hammer spring backed all the way out when you started? I’m wanting to tune for slugs for coyotes and small hogs. I found your video at the perfect time. From what little time I have with this gun, I have figured it that it likes 21-25 grain pellets. So I got on Utube tonight to find some.22 cal slug reviews in the Venturi -x. Yours is the first video I found, and you are a god send. Thank you very much! Needless to say, I subscribed. Keep it up! I’ll be watching to learn more!
The hammer spring was already turned 1, and 3/4 turns from backed all the way out. My recommendation is to go with any slug 25 grain or less. Your fps and fpe are going to be up to you. It all depends on what you want to do with your rifle. Thanks for subscribing!! Never hesitate to comment, I'll answer any questions you have. If I don't know the answer I'll find it for you. Happy New Year 🎉
That was shooting at 35 yards. The energy or FPE is calculated by the weight of your pellet or slug combined with your velocity or feet-per-second, FPS.
Wes, thanks for this. I have the exact same rifle and love it. Super accurate. I’m thinking of shooting some 21 grain H&N slugs. Is there any problem at all shooting slugs out of this rifle? I don’t want to compromise anything by doing so. Thanks!
@Theairgunseeker it was were I didn't have the forearm on it I took it back to stock and haven't had an issue since, but my dad wants that one so I'm giving it to him and had to get another one. He loves them too. My Yokozuna moderator will be here Saturday, but I'll probably make a video without it before then.
Nice here. I have mine set around 940 ish. With 27 gr. In 25 cal. When i messed with em. My .22 was 960fps with 21 grains. I moved on 2 years ago from these rifelz. I have a bunch of Kral Arms im working with right now in 177 ,22 and .25 cals. I shoot 177 alot b cuz its little cheaper and shoot tighter than all the other caliburs. W good enough power.if i need all power i just break out the .30 cals airgun of course, he he
Thanks Wes. Your a good shot. Considering an "X" for some pesting and distance work to 100 yds. w/big tank + @ 22 grn. Pellets @ 22 clbr.😊
You absolutely won't regret it. These air rifles are amazing!

It's amazing
…my question also- zero’s at WHAT yardage??? can you explain how energy is derived?….😮😮😮

Hi Wes how many turns was your hammer spring at.
2 and 1/2 from factory
@@wessamons When you say 2.5 from factory, is that closed all the way and 2.5 turns up? or what ? (I'm real new... thanks for your help!)
@KeithWard-v7e After I took it out of the box it was 2 complete turns then a half turn. I didn't back it off at all

What’s your distance at in this video?
Only 35 yards, I have to get out to my other properties to stretch it out more. I can get right around 50 yards max in the backyard.

Waited for this bud ...
These guns are easily tuned, and everything is external for easy adjustments. Having the new pocket chronograph helped out a lot too.
😊😊
22 is the only one i dont have.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. These guns are amazing!
900 is best for it
Yeah it is awesome
