Cheers Chris. There was just something special about this soap. For me, the performance and scent was a cut above lots of others I've used. I don't know if maybe everything just clicked but it was a very enjoyable experience. And yes, it does help.to have a tiny bit of madness in the Kevy Shaves vids from time to time! Lol 😄

+chris ryan oohh..that's a difficult one...I would say Perma - Sharps are still my number 1 for now. Treet blades are up there too with Astra greens and the Rapira I used in this shave was awesome too. Feathers have slipped down the list as the last couple of shaves were pretty rough using them.However, I was looking through my blades and I have lots that I need/want to try. It seems that I use the same blades after finding out what the good ones are! It's almost like I'm scared to try a new blade just in case it gives me a crap shave! Lol! I have so many good blades in the den that I want to test out. I'm thinking of doing some blade reviews soon. Great question chris 👍Cheers...Kevy
Great shave Kev! The darkening of the surface of the soap and the water that bleeds out into the bloom is caused (I think) by the oxidasation of vanillin in the mix. I get the same effect from 'Night Music' from B&M which also has a decent whack of vanillin as well. That oxidization tells you that the maker hasn't scrimped on the quality of ingredients. I see you're using my favourite brush as well. The Strirling 26mm has amazing flow through and doesn't hog the lather one bit.

Do you exfoliate your facial skin? Your neck looks incredibly smooth after your shave and I can always see hundreds of micro hairs left on my neck, which I believe is due to slightly ingrown hairs. I can get a really close shave on my face and I'm trying to find out how I can get closer on my neck. Thank you and great video! I just received the new glissant Lavanille a few days ago and it's my new favorite
Peter Sherman Hi Peter. I have a hot shower and use some Nivea shower gel to wash my face and neck, then try and shave as soon as I can after coming out the shower. I sometimes use a pre shave like Proraso. Other than that I don't exfoliate. Everyone's skin is different and atheist prep before a shave is important. There's no harm in exfoliating if it will give you a closer shave. One thing I always recommend is to use witch hazel and a good balm or moisturiser on the face in between shaves. I feel this has improved my skin and it might have helped get a better shave. It's worth trying. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Kevy Shaves Hello Kevy, thank you for the tips. The two balms I rotate are the Nivea classic balm and Stirling executive man and I love those. I'm definitely going to look into a good witch hazel now though. Thinking about trying to grow out my facial hair for a few weeks and exfoliating it to guide the hairs on my neck out as naturally as possible, and then see if there's any improvement. The only issue is I love my soaps so much that I'm going to have to find something or someone else to shave every other day over those few weeks! No, not a new scent, just my old Solaris, but I'm very tempted to get another one, I do really like the soap. Next time I put up a picture, I'll give you a shout out, just look for the picture of my little boy in a silly green hat when he was a bit younger, he's looking very pleased with himself in the picture, as I'd he'd just shot me off a little climb in the Peak District with his water pistol.😂👏

I bought it from a fellow shaver on the Facebook UK wet shaving society buy, sell, trade page. I've heard there's vanilla in it and once the air gets to it it turns it from a light brown to the very dark brown that's in the tub I have. :)

I think the soap is from a US company and you can't buy it from a UK seller over here, so I'm not going to buy it because it costs a lot of money for the shipping and I'm only talking from my point of view here. When I buy anything from outside the United Kingdom, the shipping costs me more than the item itself which is a pain and I would think its the same for you in the US? +steven lamond shipping on soaps is very pricey if buying direct from the USA. Also if the package gets a customs charge the cost can be doubled. It's really not worth it. It's a shame, we here in the UK & Europe are missing out on some great shaving products from brilliant artisans.

As with that PAA razor, I told you about when I was hit with a custom charge of 13 pounds on top of that with the shipping which was 12 pounds from the US. The razor was only 20 pounds, so when you look at it, I over paid for the razor and also Kevy, PAA have a new satin PAA razor which I really like the look of. But I'm not going to over pay again, so I will leave it.

Kevy Shaves , their Bay Rum is class and so is the Seville. I'm trying both Cheshire and Lavinille this time. B&M is by far my favorite.
