Fur is the first item mentioned but fur is not important at all. Yes, it helps, but there are other goods that compensate for lack of fur. The nicest part about fur is the wealth generation. Your timber observation is spot on. Others on my list: Metal tools Gears Internal stove Heavy metal Iron Pigs/fish Grain Plow/heavy plow Medicine/antibiotics Don’t need horses at all.
If you plan to skip any research, check to make sure what you’re skipping is unlockabke later. I skipped “Milling” and the “Preserved Food” is not unlocked at any other time, and you’ll want that as an Amenity. There’s only so many Food boosting Amenities and you’ll want them all.
Same with Chariots tech. I skipped it in my first "proper" game because I didn't have ANY horses or elephants anywhere near me at the point of era transition - so I thought I'm good without chariots and horsemen tech. Then I discovered some horses several turns later that I could get. Then I got a tech that would allow me to build a wonder that gives +10 happiness to all my cities. The only problem was... It required a chariot. A single chariot. And I could NOT build the chariot. And no other tech would allow me to.
The reason why I didn't mention them was my mistake. They will be a big part in my food and growth video and I believed that it would plow this video even more out of proportion
Could we get a video on the best amenities and pairings. Also are wheels not worth it before gears? Do war chariots provide enough over horseman to justify it?
Always build wheels plows etc. you don’t get gears for quite awhile and heavy plows till the Middle Ages. Every little thing you supply your craft and harvesters makes them produce more or craft more.
no, for trading you just need merchants and then you choose the Item you do want from other civs. As long as they have the resource and you are in an agreement you get the ressource every few turns
There will be an endgame video hopefully by next week. But to be honest you have to build those buildings, tons of them and maybe replace the old ones where you don't need that production anymore. City planing is really important and mistakes can really backfire later on when it comes to room
New to 4x games? Or maybe I'm playing the wrong ones lol, but Civ, Humankind, Old World. They are all like this. One tip is learn to make use of the UI, like after my first game I was introduced to the advanced tab in resources (I think), it makes adding accessories to crafting buildings etc so much easier. I don't know how I missed that tab (maybe I was too excited to play my first game). Things like that, unfortunately sometimes mods also make 4x games a lot easier to play. Not sure if this game is modable yet or has mods though.
@@pdraggy No, i'm not new at all.I've been playing these games since the late nineties. It is just excessive. It has nothing to do with me. Don't get me started on the UI
I've found that outside of performance and requiring an Xbox account, micromanagement is the next highest complaint among players. And I think the issue is that a lot of people were expecting Civilization, when this game is more a mix of Anno and Europa Universalis. So if you don't like complex supply chains, it's just not your cup of tea. No shame in that
I have a 3090 with 64 gigs of ram, and this game runs perfectly for me with all settings on ultra. Sorry the game doesn't run great for you. Maybe time for an upgrade.
I don't know what kind of a graphics card that is but I got to the third act with my RTX 3080Ti and it's running just fine although the fan is a bit loud unless I limit the framerate to 30 (but in the early game it's not as loud)

@@ErionarAt that point, just get merchants and trade for the horses to make a singular chariot
@@connorclabaugh9962he can’t make a chariot if he didn’t discover one. Even if he had 1000 horses.
The healing herbs tech (don’t remember the name) is a good candidate to skip.
@@jtfike This! So frustrating.
Wonderful explanations regarding resources. I'm enjoying the game's learning curve. Also, thank you to your community for additional advice.
The only thing I would add is grain stores. Stupid growth
The reason why I didn't mention them was my mistake. They will be a big part in my food and growth video and I believed that it would plow this video even more out of proportion
Thanks for this, the game seems very good.
idea is good but implementation is poor
once you have horses i would add the wheel to get chariots
also ships if you are on a coastline and want to explore
Can't you boost resources like fur w/ buildings that increase harvest production for the region?
Resources to have:
- Fur
- Horses > Elephants > Camels
- Wood
- Metals
Goods to have:
- Plows/Heavy plows
- Metal tools
- Gears
Thank you for doing my work I failed miserably to do 🫠
I would add grain/pigs/fish to that list.
Aren't hunting camps harvesters? Therefore, something like a water well (which increases harvester by 100%) increases the fur production?
water only increase farms
I wish you were more specific with why each resource is important and what items you can craft with them
Use the tool tips or the encarta ingame. It tells you what every resource is for a does
Could we get a video on the best amenities and pairings.

Chariots are the best cavalry till knights (ignoring elephants)

Grain and grapes.
Can you buy resources with gold from other cvs or a market? If yes, how? I do not see it. Thank you

im gonna give it another go..way to much micro...mid game you spend 90% of your turn queing..its not fun
