    You can close the tailgate with the button. You just have to hold the button down. Wing mirrors again are standard feature on mine. Close the windows again a standard feature, you just hold the lock button. All these things have been standard on every BMW I have owned, I’m U.K. based.

    Backdoor, mine those that already. The sound of the alarm beeep when lock, unlock. That was loud, mine dose not make any sound other than the locking mechanism. But the mirrors I want to learn how. The high beams you talk about. I live in Norway and own a X5 M50D F14 2014 M-Sport. And this is my first Bimmer I own. I have had that with the heat lights on my Volvos, but I don't know if my Bimmer can do that. So I turn my high beam off. Just wondering, can you make the light's over the dash and the doors The blue light's, or I use the blue. Can that get even brighter than the factory?

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Christopher Evangelista the Euro high beam had to be done with esys coding with the e net cable/laptop. I had someone do it remotely when I had the hitch coded.
      I think it can be done with BimmerCode, but only in expert mode and I wasn’t ready to venture into that territory.
      You are correct, there isn’t a kick to open option for this vehicle.

      I had someone try and add different interior colors with e-sys coding but they were unsuccessful based on my model year.
      If it would’ve done worked I would’ve had different color ambient lighting like purple or red.

    • @ssaafur
      @ssaafur 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eddiemcars ok, I have ambient lighting thats fine. What I want to do is exchange the OEM bulbs to LEDS / maps lights, etc. I was curious if you used BimmerCode to change the light codes to LED. I also upgraded my 2014 5.0 with third row to a 2018M almost 2 years ago, i had sell remorse almost instantly.
    I know I am talking about the wrong video right now but just had to mension that, I do have a question though. I recently got a great deal on another X5 5.0 with 3rd row, black on black + black rims from a manheim auction Only this one has the M dynamic suspension as well as rear air suspension.
    I am just curious if this x5 is equipped with that feature as well, and is that the reason why it sits as high as it seem to?
    My old 2014 x5 5.0 had the M suspension but not the rare air and it sat pretty low.
    I have not seen the new 2014 I've purchased as yet it will be delivered tomorrow but I'm hoping it has o lower profile like the one I gave up..
    Also I have been using Carly for BMW for almost 10 years and I'm able to do all those things that you've mentioned and more, i only had to pay for it once. as a matter of fact recently I found out that I have a lifetime activation + free updates so I purchased the universal adapter and I'm now able to do so much on multiple makes and models I really do like it & believe that you should do a comparison if you're able to I would not mind lending my adapters

      I looked into Carly and BimmerCode and they seem nearly the same. I may have a look it to see if there’s anything different.
      I noticed with the air suspension, there are times where I feel like it’s riding higher in the back than normal and other times it seems to sit level. I think it depends on how it’s parked and was anyone sitting in the backseat. My last Audi Q7 had air and when weight would come off the rear, you could visually see it adjusting. I never notice with the BMW.

      @@eddiemcars I have recently purchased the Bimmer code app and a veepeak OBD check ble + Bluetooth adapter from Amazon and I've been using it to code 2014 5.0 as well as my 2018 M and it works great I love it.
      I was able to add extra colors to the interior lighting of my F15, this is a feature that I've not been able to do with Carly, however everything else I've been able to see so far in the Bimmer code app is available in Carly.
      Carly is also a lot more user-friendly and allows you to diagnose and clear trouble codes.
      Both apps have their strong points I love that I'm able to finally have red mood lighting in my F15 thanks to bimmer code, though it was a little scary configuring everything in expert mode as the options on the first screen did not work for me. I also like that Bimmer code cost less than $40 currently compared to Carly's yearly subscription, if I wasn't receiving Carly free of charge I don't think I would pay the extra money for a yearly subscription.
      On the other hand Carly is a lot more intuitive less intimidating and user-friendly than Bimmer code it has tons of easy-to-use options with explanations for each one Carly would be a better option in my opinion for someone unfamiliar with coding, you got all the features of beamer code except for the option to change interior lighting colors, you also get the health check option where you can scan your vehicle for codes and reset them if you like

At about 85k miles, got the drive train malfunction, saw a TSB out for the injectors and was hoping it was the injectors so BMW could pay for it, they said injectors passed their tests, charged me the diagnostic fee and offered to replace coils for about $1500...i bought the coil for $24 and did it myself. Ran fine until 2 more misfired...replaced those and will do the remaining coils when they arrive. Also going to replace plugs....I get that dealers charge $165 per hour for labor...but even with them using BMW parts, I don't see how they come up with their numbers

    Great video and nice cars! Jw, I haven't been able to get an answer either way, but, will coding my F15 or G05 affect my vehicle's warranty? Wouldn't the dealer be able to tell I've modified my vehicle's coding when they plug the remote into the dealer's reader? I've hesitated to do it before until seeing this app and OBD adapter. Looks like a much simpler technique. I'd love to be able to do a few simple things, that should've been configurable in the car itself, like close the windows, sunroof & tailgate from my remote, and make the lane change have 4 blinks instead of 3. Would also like the anti-dazzle work as designed too (one of the main reasons I bought the car). Our G05 will arrive in Oct.., I hope to be able to tweak it if needed.

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you! Coding won’t and shouldn’t void your warranty because, in reality, these are features BMW built into the car. They’re enabled or disabled in certain countries. So, the way I view it is that I’m activating features that the vehicle is designed with.
      As far as coding euro anti-dazzle lights, it can’t be done via Bimmer code but it can be done with E Sys connect, I believe. There’s a coder in NY that codes my car remotely while enabling trailer mode when I purchased the stealth hitch. (Complimentary coding)
