My grandmother has a kitchenaid mixer that's older then me by a few years and I'm 27 almost 28...it gets used regularly but the holidays really put it to the test and it's not acting like it's going to slow down any time soon

The Proline and Commercial both have DC(Direct Current) Motors. All the others have AC(Alternating Current) motors. Electricity from the wall is AC. The Proline and Commercial convert to DC for the DC motors. You get Longevity and better Torque with the DC motors.
Your Husband made the best choice..... I am Jealous as my Kitchenaid is a 27 year old classic that works great but is too too small.

I have a 4.5 quart that was a Christmas present exactly 25 years ago and I have used it so much! I think my favorite thing is the instruction manual. It has so many fabulous recipes and tips and I really think reading it cover to cover helped keep my mixer running so well. The first attachment I got was a grain mill and I have ground up whole wheat and made my own whole wheat bread many times. I do think about a big shiny new 700 like yours but I just love my little tilt head. I have a Zojirushi bread machine that I can use for heavy bread doughs anyway. BTW my paddle beater just started to flake at the top this year. I also have a scraper beater so I just use that for now. I only use it to whip up a cake or cookie dough so it is not used very much. Thank for the great Friday FAQ video!

I have that size as well. I got mine years ago and love it! A bit heavy but it is pretty powerful. I got mine from TJMaxx years ago. Price hasn’t changed any since then. 😁 I totally recommend this one to anyone looking for a solid mixer. Never had the slightest problem with it.

I so cried when my mom gave my sister her old kitten aid. Even though it’s that ugly green color from back in the day. My husband surprised me with my very own for Christmas that very year!! I’ve had it for quite some time and use it like you do very often. Boy did he go all out got all the extra hooks and paddles in stainless steel. I would love to upgrade to the seven quart maybe when my daughter moves out and can take my current with her!! Hate for it to just sit here.

Last year I got the 8 quart but, my old stand by 5 quart is still running strong even after 30 years. Best purchases ever!
Incidentally, I love the redesign of the accessory port. My 8 quart came with a stainless steel beater and dough hook but, came with a coated paddle. Another upgrade I love is the splash guard is one piece, making it easy to use one hand to attach and remove.
P.s. I asked Santa for the Ball electric canner 🙏🏼❤️

I loved the unboxing video, I was almost as excited as you were lol. I got myself the 6 quart mixer for Christmas and it came with the burnished attachments. It got quite a workout during my cookie bake-a-thon and did a great job. I've noticed a huge improvement with how it kneads bread dough as well. I would have loved to have gotten the 700, especially after seeing you unbox yours, but the price was too prohibitive for my budget. But the 600 will fit my kneads! 🤭
I wish you and your family a joyful Christmas and a happy and healthy new year! 🎄💜🥳🥂

Thank you for such a thorough review. I was looking at Kitchenaid for quite some time, but got so confused with all the different kinds. Very happy I waited. This looks like the right model for me since in addition to all the baking, you can grind meat for hamburgers and make your own sausage. I found a stainless steel meat grinder w/sausage attachments that fits this model on amazon. Saves a lot of money by allowing you to get better quality(better tasting,) and larger cuts of meat for less. With all the things supermarkets do to hamburger, you never know what your getting or if it's truly fresh. BTW, you look absolute amazing! I was one of your first subs, and have seen all the hard work you've put in to getting healthier. You look like you're aging in the reverse direction! I need to go back and revisit your older videos to see exactly how you did that. Congrats and Merry Christmas!! 🤗🤗🤗

A year ago for mother's day I bought myself the same mixer but in red. After doing my research I decided I definitely needed the pro series. I wanted the mixer mainly for dough and I always double my bread and cookie recipes. For less than 30.00 I got the extra 3 year warranty. I was lucky mine came with the burnished accessories. It was totally worth saving for several years to get. At the time I ordered mine they had an abundance of the candy apple red color and the red was cheaper than the stainless since it was the color I wanted anyway it worked out perfectly. Anyone looking to purchase the mixer might want to take advantage of the discount if color is not an issue. Merry Christmas and God Bless!

A kitchenaid has always been a dream of mine. I just can't justify the cost as I don't do much baking. I'll just stick with my little hand mixer unless I really start getting into bread and baking a lot which i don't really see happening as it's just my husband and i now. If i came across a decent used one i would buy it but you don't see them used much as everyone hangs onto them till they die......
I made your Dutch Apple bread and it is delicious! My husband loves it and it's what I'm giving my neighbors this year for Christmas! Merry Christmas to you and yours. Take the time to enjoy the holidays with them and not work yourself to death in the kitchen!

I bought my KitchenAid mixer in the early 70’s it is about 45+ years old and I have never had an issue with it. It was made by Hobart. Of course I have not used it with the frequency you use yours. In fact, until I found your TH-cam channel I had never used the dough hook! I love the way you teach. I would love to get the stainless steel paddle and dough hook but, am not sure they would fit my machine. Thank you for the detail you give in your videos.

AFter research i discovered i either jumped a gear or broke a gear. I was shocked and saddened. But this winter we are going to try and replace the gears in it ourselves since we live in a remote area and i can order parts online for it. I ordered my stainless steel dough hook after I saw yours. I ordered my stainless steel dough hook through the KitchenAid website. I called customer service to clarify which hook. They asked for the serial number on the bottom of the stand mixer to tell me which hook to order. My coated hook started to peel after a few uses. So glad I saw that you got one which prompted me to do so too. Unfortunately, I bought a model not strong enough to handle bread kneading. So, I have to knead by hand. Also, I don’t have space to keep it out. Is so heavy to carry it out and store away. I use it when I have to knead dough that requires hot water as an ingredient.
Wishing Matt a wonderful birthday and you and your family an awesome Christmas and New Year!

I have to get an electric canner one of theses days, it would be perfect for the project I'm working on now.

Hi Heather, another great video. I’m saving for the proline 7 mixer 😊. My question is would you show your Pullman bread pan & give us the details. Is it the chef made Pullman ? Thank you. Wishing you & your family a very Merry Christmas 🎄 let us know how your new family addition is doing also 😊

I have the Pro 600 for the last five years... my mother n law didn’t understand why I wanted a bigger mixer than the 4.5 quart well now she knows how much I use it for canning with all the attachments... after watching this video I wish had your model. It gets so hot when making apple and pear sauce. I agree on the beaters and how they flake. Now I want the stainless steel ones. Let me know if they fit the Pro 600z

You can try selling it. Save some money first to make up the difference. If you use it often it is probably worth the upgrade.

I have 3 Kitchenaid mixers. The oldest one is from the 70’s I bought for $3 at a yard sale. It has the original Hobart motor that Kitchenaid used. My second Kitchenaid is a Classic + that works ok but it’s not as strong as the older one. My new one is the Artisen in Dusty Rose. I haven’t used it yet but I will be this week. Both the older ones need the motor repacked with grease. Maybe that will happen one day.🤨

I have my own kitchenaid stories. I got a tilt head one for Christmas from my mother-in-law the first year we were married. And I instantly hated it. This was when we were eating bread every day. We were on a tight budget. I was so disappointed that my $2 thrift store bread machine kneaded a million times better than my new fancy kitchenaid. So that summer a bakery was going out of business and we got a professional one from them and I love it. I gave my old one to a friend for her wedding. Who I knew wouldn't be using it for bread. And one time my MIL came over and said "that's not the mixer I got you" and I said "nope". And we haven't talked about it since. That's one of those family differences that we run into. I would never tell someone I hate a gift. But she's told me before! She doesn't cook so it's not something she'd even understand if I did get into it. All that said, I would recommend anyone a pro line and if they scoff at the price I'd tell them to get a cuisinart handheld mixer. That thing is a beast and works great for special occasions. But from-scratch cooks like us need a good kitchenaid!
