Another fun detail about Full Moon Full Life is during the last shot where Makoto throws his MP3 player, you can see him disappearing in the background while the silhouette of the other SEES members remain, foreshadowing his fate at the end of the journey.
Finallty some legit love for Road Less Taken. It's so addicting to watch. The color blending, Joker's silly karaoke, Kamoshida's stupid rapping, and how the three singers from P3, 4 and 5 harmonize into the song. It's also the swan song for thw 3ds as it was the last game released for the system.
You know, given that it was the last game to release on 3DS, that does make more sense as to why it wasn't dubbed- they barely had time to get it out on the console at all
One important thing to note about the Persona 4 Golden opening is technological context: the game was originally released for the Playstation Vita, and it was one of the first games for it, being released half a year after the console’s release. The color explosion opening is intended to take full advantage of the Vita’s OLED screen. The Vita was many people’s first exposure to OLED screens, and the vibrancy of the colors in the Golden opening were amazing. If you’re playing P4G on something that doesn’t have an OLED screen it loses its potency, plus we’ve become used to the techonology since 2011.
You criticised P1 psp for having some cutscene footage, but praised p3 fes and the p4 attract mode even though those are 100% cutscene and gameplay footage?
He did clearly state he was ranking every intro based on how well they fit their respective release. The attract modes have a very different purpose then the full release intros
@@WickedKillaYT idk 'bout you but the intro of P1 PSP does fit well to the games narrative. It did show cutscenes that we're relevant to the game's plots not just gameplay footage and it was only for like 20 seconds. The song (while the tone doesn't fit P1) still has lyrics that do summarise a good chunk of it's themes. The intro also doesn't completely spoil the game rotten (like p3fes). Something like p3fes is too focused on showcasing all the new additions, rather than being an interesting intro. Plus it spoiles the heck out of the game, the game was advertised as the definitive P3 experience so a new player looking to play P3 is probably going to to watch it. So personally it feels weird seeing it below glorified trailers.
@Latestmustace if I had to guess, because FES is being seen as The Answer- it having spoilers sets up for a postgame story, as a quick refresh for people that already beat The Journey when the original game came out, and it having gameplay is good, because The Answer is more focused on being difficult
@@furiouscorgi6614but if the PQ games could put out full animated trailers, the official P3 remaster by Atlus could’ve made a cool visual instead of making an opening that’s pretty much just a game trailer
He literally said he doesn't like how they're shown out of context and doesn't think they add to the viewing experience. He said in the same part that he's fine with in game cutscenes being used in openings if implemented well
I am aware this might be a little dramatic but hear me out lol As soon as I saw number 2, I literally pondered to myself “wait what? that’s all the mainline games??” I was thinking for a good minute on what was the last thing, especially since expected one of the base mainline games to be #1… and then it clicked and I screamed under my blanket as I realized what was gonna be number one
Finally, some love for the PS1 Innocent Sin intro!! I love the PSP intro too, but I think the PS1 version is definitely better in terms of tone and aesthetics. I do find the action shots to be a bit cheesy and unneeded, but that haunting prelude with the piano piece really makes up for it.
P1 PSP is my favorite, and i DO think it fits well with the tone of P1. My favorite part is the look Maki gives the camera (any by extension the player), that shit still haunts me, and i think matches well with the dreamy/surreal tone of the game.
Oh my god, you unlocked a core memory. I was in an EB games and on the corner tv they had a loop of videos, with FES opening playing in the lineup. I stood there and watched the rotation of vidoes so I could catch it, three times.
The P5 anime has one of my favorite openings simply because THE SONG WILL NOT GET OUT OF MY HEAD and hinting at the deadline endings of some of the characters is cool too
I gotta say, the main defining thing I absolutely adore about all the Persona intros-- mostly the mainline ones, is featuring a Butterfly. IDK I just love how it's been there from the very beginning and has made a place for itself as a defining Persona motif.
8:45 I think they didnt get title cards precisely because they're new. In the context of the player being an outside observer, theyre giving the spotlight to the reigning champions, the returning cast, while the comparatively underdog new characters dont get that flashy intro- they need to show their worth in combat
Great video! 100% agree on your ranking of P5's openings. They are all excellent, but the original one is a MASTERPIECE. When thinking of "breaking the law," a common interpretation would be something akin to what's on the P5R one, but skating as a way to "step over the corrupt society that bullies the weak?" That's GENIUS
I was about to say if Persona 4 dancing op ain't in the top ten 10, don't ever cook again but it ended up in the top 5 so lol Great video dude, keep cooking
The only downside I have with tactica’s opening is that i wish there was more action during the chorus of the song, I know the song and the opening is about Revolution, I just wished it was more fast paced to fit the energy of the song. The opening is still pretty good. The song is absolutely phenomenal, one of lyn’s best.
Usually I agree with your opinions, but P4AU that low? I mean I get your reasons, but Break Out Of… is probably my favorite song in the entire series. At least top 5. Like, understandable, but THAT low is wild.
its weird, i personally think it is objectively the worst because its literally all gameplay and some chosen moments are very questionable, but at the same time its still done pretty well overall, ofc the start is really good despite the fact that its a reused segment of a song over reused footage because it just looks hype, and in fact before beating reload i wasnt aware of the existence of memories of you so when it started playing the intense part i was like hold up peak is abouta come on

persona is low effort copy/paste trash. It hasn't changed at all since the first game, its stale and lacks anything compelling. There's nothing dynamic about it. Its still shots of 5 people talking while little text boxes appear. The dungeon content is purposefully made tedious instead of being difficult. A 5 year old wouldn't have difficulty in any of these games. The cutscenes haven't been hand drawn since person 3, and the remake cutscenes are all CGI.Every characters personality is just copied from another character that came before. I played them all, but 5. and I watch a play through of that one. I am just disappointed in something. The "mature" aspects of these games are an 11 year olds opinion of what edgy is. The relationships feel weak and forced with no substance. The voice acting is always a miss. Even in japanese, the voice acting is horrible. These games are made as cheaply as possible and everyone else suffers for it.
I'm going to be completely honest with you. I hate you. You probably don't even get the reference because instead of playing the games yourself you just look at the surface aspects of the game and say "hey, I want to crap on this in hopes of chasing clout!" This isn't reddit kid
