I'm from the UK. Stayed in Kiama on my first ever visit to Australia in 1998 - and again in 1999. Been back a few times since. The line wasn't electrified then and there were semaphores at Kiama worked from a small box on the platform. We stayed in East's Van Park by the ocean. I like that area, driving up Saddleback Mountain, over to Jamberoo etc.

Nice trip lovely views! Only downfall is it stops almost every station which is a pain in the arse!!!!! Timetable should be changed to allow faster services!!!!

Does it even reach that speed? I noticed that it took about 6 mins 20 seconds to travel from Albion Partk to Dapto, a distance of 8km, with track that's pretty straight. It sometimes seems to me that Sydney Trains have no interest in reducing journey times, even where they could.
