      Hi! just a question about the train. is there a specific time where they will be there to pick up passengers?

    Some tips about the trains. They are one class, so travelling upstairs is no more expensive than the bottom level - and the views are better. You get the best views by sitting on the left-hand side in each direction. On the journey to Katoomba, this lets you look into many of the valleys heading into the southern wilderness of the Mountains. On the journey home, you see Mt Hay, a mountain which ends the central ridge.

    For those spending a bit of time in Sydney the train trip west to the BM is a must do. The train trips north to Gosford and south to Wollongong or Kiama are every bit as brilliant and have some remarkable unique coastal / water scenery.

    Great information, we are staying in Sydney from the 29 October for a week and planning on taking the train to the Blue Mountains, can 8 ask how long it took to walk from the station to the Blue Mountains?

    • @doubledee9675
      @doubledee9675 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mountain range is called the Blue Mountains. I think you mean to the Jamison valley, much of which is shown in this video. The walk is a gentle half hour stroll.

      Hi, You can use opal or your contactless bank card to get to the blue mountains. The fare should be the same with both.

    Hi Josh, is it required to pre-book the train tix from Central Station to Katoomba Station to secure seats?

    • @JoshGoesSlow
      @JoshGoesSlow  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No not at all. I’m fact you can’t. It’s part of the Sydney rail, just like any metro you just use an opal card or bank card and get on.

    • @Syulang-nt4kj
      @Syulang-nt4kj ปีที่แล้ว

      No. You actually can't book seats on the intercity services. Just tap on and off with opal. The blue mountains trains work just like the ones in Sydney (but less frequent, obviously). Unless you're travelling on a summer weekend at peak times you'll get a seat :) Bring snacks and drinks for the trains. It's quite a long journey and there's no catering on board at all - not even a water fountain.

    • @doubledee9675
      @doubledee9675 ปีที่แล้ว

      As said before, you can't book. If you're staying in Sydney and going to Katoomba for a day trip, you'll be going in the opposite direction to the bulk of the traffic each way.

    • @Enochsright
      @Enochsright ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All above true, your nothing special as a tourist so no special trains either.

    • @doubledee9675
      @doubledee9675 ปีที่แล้ว

      And no real need for them. The V set trains remain an extremely comfortable way of travelling. I've not been in a carriage built to the latest design, but would be surprised if they were as comfortable as a V class. With either design of trains (they're electric multiple units) no need to worry about strange roads, different road rules and so forth..@@Enochsright

    • @andreakumar2984
      @andreakumar2984 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found using Google or Apple Maps was best. Just type in your destination and click the “train/bus” option instead of the car option is most likely on by default.
      Go to your nearest train station and find the matching terminal/platform.
