No half naked people on stage and more importantly no autotune just a girl a singer and a song writer and pure talent that is so hard to find these days
I doubt it's hard, in fact everything is easier to find these days. it's just not what they're looking for (in mainstream) music. if you want that in modern music. look. You'll find it. (not mainstream)
🤦🏽♂you realize the vocals were re-recorded in a professional studio so all the mistakes that humans make when singing live were erased, yes? standard operating procedure in the music business
In 1988 I took my daughter to her first concert when she was 9. The tickets cost $20 each and I only had $40. We were standing in line, hoping to get last minute tickets to get in,when a lady came up to us and gave me two tickets close to the stage. So I then had money to buy my daughter a T-shirt ,some pop and candy. Debbie Gibson was only 17 at the time and it was a fantastic show. The last song was ' Foolish Beat' and she rose up from under the stage playing a white piano. A cherished memory. 🤗
She worked so hard in the 80/90s they pushed her hard never got the respect of many pop stars but I love this stuff she was my teen crush I think I had 10 posters and a Lamborghini poster as well 🤣
There's something magical about 1988, I was only 9 and it's probably the first year I really started taking a major interest in music which of course stays with me to this day. This live version is superb. The fact that she wrote and produced her music at such a young age is just a further testament to her incredible talent.
I wasn't even alive then and yet I yearn for it. I was born in 2006, but my parents grew up in the 80s. I've always preferred older music and can't listen to modern stuff. I'm an old soul
Absolute brilliant!!!! Debbie Gibson is a classic example of why the 80s rocked. I feel so honored to know that I grew up as teen in the 80s when her music came out. A wonderful wonderful wonderful time to grow up with her music.

It is amazing that someone of this age could write a song with the lyrical content of this one, let alone the melody and everything else, a truely astonishing feat that sounds the same as it did when I heard this as a young teenager. Can't you see I'm not fooling nobody
Don't you see the tears are falling down my face
Since you went away
Break my heart, you slipped away
Didn't know I was wrong
Never meant to hurt you now you're gone
Oh oh oh oh oh
There was a time when
Broken hearts and broken dreams
Were over
There was a place where
All you could do was
Wish on a four-leaf clover
But now is a new time
There is a new place
Where dreams just can't come true
It started the day when I left you (oh)
I could never love again the way that I loved you (oh)
I could never cry again like I did when I left you
And when we said goodbye
Oh, the look in your eyes
Just left me beside myself without your heart (without your heart)
I could never love again now that we're apart
When I was sorry
It was too late to turn around (turn around)
And tell you so
There was no reason
There was no reason
Just a foolish beat of my heart
I could never love again the way that I loved you (oh)
I could never cry again like I did when I left you
And when we said goodbye
Oh, the look in your eyes
Just left me beside myself without your heart (without your heart)
I could never love again now that we're apart
Oh, can't you see I'm not fooling nobody?
Don't you see the tears are falling down my face?
Since you went away
Break my heart, you slipped away
Didn't know I was wrong
Never meant to hurt you now you're gone
Oh oh oh
Do, do, do, do, do, do
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
I could never love again
Now that we're apart
Now that we're apart, oh
I could never love again
Now that we're apart
