For all of us that grew up in the 80s, she’ll always be our Debbie.
I was 12 when this was on MTV. I was brought up on hard rock and rap music. Music like hers was said to be music for sissies and such. So, I didn't listen to it. But nowadays, I don't listen to rap or hard rock anymore, and music like hers is the best there is (as far as pop music goes, anyway). Love, being vulnerable, and wanting to experience life as one with someone else is so much better than trying to be hard and tough because we've been hurt by those who were supposed to love us. Hardness of heart really leaves us lonely even if we are surrounded by others who profess to be our friends and to love us; they're almost always not being honest and are not our true friends.
