      My brothers first car was a 69 road runner also. He sold it in the fall of 81 before he headed off school to use for college money. The car was absolutely beautiful with new paint, American racing wheels, 383 4spd. That’s where my love for Mopars started. I bought my roadrunner then in the with nter of 82 and drove through high school.

      @@markg7030 I just think the styling looks dated for 69. Not hating on it at all but it looks like a 64 car to me. By 69 the manufacturers were heading for a much more bulbous flowing line, laid back windscreens. look at the 69 gto with endura colour coded bumpers and pumped rear guards, The 69 mustang and camaro show the styling cues they were going for. Quarter vent windows were very much on the way out by the late sixties. Steve said they still sold well though so my opinion is obviously null!

    • @markg7030
      @markg7030 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@watsisbuttndo829 Thanks for explaining. I see what you mean. It's true this style looks like they copied a 66- 67 GM mid sized car. Even Rambler copied this style on the Rebel one year before MOPAR in 67. Consider this the 70 Cuda and Challenger copied the 67 Camaro styling. I also like all of these cars anyway.

    That 10K payment to WB must have been just a token payment as I think Warner Bros. got a ton of free advertisement for their Saturday morning cartoons because of the car. As I remember the Bugs Bunny / Lonny Tunes hour was about the most popular one on in the late 60's early 70's.

    I heard a funny story... Sister company Dodge, heard Plymouth was coming out with a "Cartoon" named car, and they LAUGHED.... In 1968, Plymouth had hoped to sell a few thousand, needed up selling over 80,000 the first year... Dodge HURRIED and developed their own 'cartoon' car... The Superbee... what the hell is a Superbee...??? and thats the rest of the story. My FIRST Roadrunner, was 1970, 2 door coupe, B5 blue, I loved that car...

    I’m wondering having watched this (and other Mags vids) at what point on the option list or packages are you forced to by a GTX instead of a RR?

    • @markg7030
      @markg7030 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The base engine on the road runner was a 383. The base engine on the GTX was a 440. The road runner was a no frills car but you could order many options. The GTX was an up scale car that included more features.

Nice car in this video but a few things like the finish on the air cleaner, plug wires, the screws on the fender tag. Did not show the underside so interested in what they did there.

    lot of wrong information being presented as right in this vid...it was 10k for the Horn and 50k for the rights to use the cartoon bird.
    im starting to notice a pattern.
    that hacked up 340 duster that you " promoted for sale ",and esp after the hoovie collaboration vid,which was Eye opening for the deception and absolute lies about " all that matters is that Hemi vin tag,you can swap in a Whole nother car and itll be a Real legit hemi car !! "
    you literally lost 99% of your credibility that day...that car is, Listed in the registry as being Wrecked and destroyed in the back and side of the original car,wadded it right up.
    then it was described as being rebodied with a 69 GTX...that is NOT a gtx body that hoovie has there....how did you miss the biggest clue??..
    you verified and legitmized a fake....and you are our mopar guru??
    and,is it true that you and galen the thief govier have teamed up to sell subpar cars too??....for shame.....
    i wonder if you realize that galen still owes people to this Day,and you are now associated with him.
    oh,and keep this in mind too steve..im just a regular guy,but the high rollers in the b bodies are all talking about you,and its not good talk.
