    My sisters 71' Road Runner (383) has the column shifter. That console shifter looks like a 73' Barracuda. I didn't know there were different configurations in the automatics. Good to know! BTW, hers is in Burnt Orange . She bought hers in Frankfort Ky. for $600 in 1980. Still has it. In the middle of a 40 year restoration project. lol

    Absolutely gorgeous.
    I grew up in a Mopar family. In 1965 Dad bought a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere. Then in 1971 he bought a 71 Plymouth Satellite Wagon with a towing package. I fell in love with that body style from then on. Then of course King Richard said that the 71 was his favorite.

    I had a 72 with a 340 in it way back in the day. You could practically stand in the engine bay, it was pretty roomy, easy to work on. Same color scheme but no strobes on the front fenders. White interior. You could live in the back seat of that car.

    Well said! I always find myself looking for these experts to make a mistake when going over a car I happen to think I'm very familiar with too. And although he did skip a few things I felt are worth mentioning like the "air grabbers" on the hood aren't functional in 71' and the front grill RR emblem and rear bumper being unique only to the 71' RR as well. I thought he did a real good job going over it. What a sweet package - I even like the color. I saw @2:52 some idiot had hammered the "pos" battery terminal onto the battery post. I can't help but wonder what else is done poorly; or if the next owner will take care of it the way it deserves to be cared for. I hope it finds a good home and will be driven.

    • @zephead4835
      @zephead4835 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      you make an interesting comment to the point where I thought I should add that this car might be a clone. I say that for two reasons number one I see a 120 mi speedometer I'm pretty sure the 71 roadrunner had a 150 mi speedometer. Also the rear tail lights had black tape surrounding them and the tape went on to the rear lower valance. That's a very subtle difference but worth mentioning. The rear deck lid should have a Plymouth roadrunner decal emblem on the right hand side.

    • @guidosarducci3047
      @guidosarducci3047 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@zephead4835 I had no idea about that stuff. You've got a good eye brother. For me - I'm at the low level of Chrysler knowledge to either sound like I know what I'm doing; or that I'm very, very, stupid. 😆I never thought to look at the speedo - And I didn't catch the thing with tail light bezels either. I gotta watch the video again now!😃If it were mine, I'd definitely drive it. How bout you? 🤔Would u drive it or just garage it? Knowing that it might be clone doesn't detract that much for me personally. I just assumed that he would've checked the vin/build sheet if possible. People sure are getting good at forging the classics though.

    • @zephead4835
      @zephead4835 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@guidosarducci3047 if you get a chance you can Google images of 1971 Plymouth roadrunner and you will find the black tape around the tail lights and down on the rear valance. Hear's something that I found interesting I didn't know this but the 71 roadrunner had two available gauge clusters one with a tach and one without. The one featured in Steve's video does not have a tachometer thus the speedometer only goes to 120 on gauge clusters with the optional tach the speedo goes to 150. So I stand corrected, the car and Steve's video could be a real roadrunner but as you mentioned the only way to know for sure is to check the VIN numbers.

    Steve has accurately provided the information on this beautiful Road Runner. The information on the insurance industry war against muscle cars is correct, however he was wrong about the OPEC issue.
    The OPEC generated oil 🛢 embargo/ oil crisis didn't occur until after the 1973 Yom Kippur war between Egypt and Israel in October of that year. It was the Arab response to the western powers support of Israel.
    It was this action that put the final nail in the coffin ⚰️ of the 60s/70s era of the muscle car epoch. Know your history people!!!!!!
    Again, here in 2023, history repeats itself, and in this past October 2023, 50 years after the '73 war, the Israelis and the Arabs (Palestinians) are at it again. The question is, will OPEC do the same as 50 years ago especially with Russia now a member and the poor relationships that we now are in with the Russians and Saudi Arabia due to the incompetence of Joe Biden and his village idiot cronies!!!!!! Ponder this!!!!!!!😊

    So many things are wrong about this car. Having owned 3, let me point some things out. First the Speedo is a 120 MPH unit only found in the 1973-75 models. It doesnt belong to this car hence the mileage is also incorrect. "All these items are original" is an incorrect statement!. The strobe strip is in the WRONG position across the roof. The bottom of the strobe should be between the wheel arch, this one has it way past because the person installing it didnt realize that the upper portion is closer to the rear window. It looks ridiculous, and the person installing it should do something else. The 383 decals above the marker light are incorrect (originals are a more square design and 2 tone) The strobe coming from the call outs on the hood and going down the front fender were NEVER an option for this car, instead they were an option for the GTX. 15 x 7 rally's are not correct unless it was ordered as an option. Instead a stamped steel wheel was the flavor of the day and finally looking at the test drive, when accelerating the steering wheel is canted to the left to keep the car going straight but when he lets off and applies the brakes the steering wheel is now centered indicating play in the front suspension. I am assuming (even though you come across as knowledgable), that the speedo and hence the mileage is an honest mistake instead of someone trying to deceive the buyer into making the car out to have far less mileage than it probably did.
