Veee Dubya! Congrats on the new bike! Great choice! The V-Stroms are bullet proof bikes. You will be able to lay down some serious miles on it. You can also do some trail work if you want. Those V twins are smooth as butter. For the record, you are a riding monster! Methinks you are a candidate for the "Iron Butt Award"! Looking forward to seeing your adventures with the new steed! Great stuff! Cheers!
Thank you DOC650, it should be a good fit for some of the longer rides, not that the KLR or DR couldn't do it. I'm old and the added comfort is nice. I had to get an Iron Butt after the EX chewed the original one off. 😳🤣Take care me Vee friend.
Very nice. I like the GPS mount just behind the windshield and the skid plate. If I ever owned one of these I would add those for sure. I liked the seat on the new model that I sat on but didn't ride it at all. Congratulations!
Thank you, PC. I have trips planned out that way when the weather cools. Maybe ride on that mountain I see you and Joe on, and breakfast at the Evergreen. Skid plate is a must for that low underneath, this seat feels good for the first 60 miles, but there is no ability to slide back and forth, your just in a hole. The new flat "no hump" seat will be great but 3 months waiting list.
Veee W - So freaking cool !!! - You can't wash away neglect. That beauty is freakin spotless & looks brand new. You hit a home run on that on brother - Nice job !!! That sounds great too - Very smooth :-) Can't wait for the next one !!!! Hope your butt has recovered LOL :-)
Well OW … the only thing on me that wears well at my age is my rear end 😳. But I’m good to go. I bought an air hawk “type” cushion off Amazon, it comes in tomorrow. I have a KLR buddy that is getting his Gen 2, 3000 mile Vstrom on Sunday for 6k it seems to be catching. I can’t wait to see his, I’ll get video. I’m glad I jumped on this one, I came in under budget for sure, nice to have it nicer than advertised. Yesterday I got the new Suzuki rear helmet trunk, bike cover, battery tender and jacket liner for the jacket I got with the bike in a big box 📦 on the porch. Guy was super nice.
You can’t hide money! That’ll make the long miles a lot easier. I am sure you will get tons of enjoyment from it. As always, thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Thank you, Calvin. The KLR could have made it, but this is a much better choice for the trip to your part of the world and home. It is so smooth and quiet, really a joy to ride. I am thrilled with the price and condition of the bike.
I seriously considered 650 V Strom before getting the DR. I just figured I already had a street bike and wanted to go more dirt oriented. Shoot, I even considered one before I got my Road King. Reading all of the reviews of them it’s apparently hard to go wrong with one. 👍
@@CalvinBradley Agreed, that is what I had heard too, funny I always thought they were ugly as sin, with that low pipe and exposed oil filter. I'll keep the DR for the more dirt rides too, I think for a trip across the USA the Vstrom will be perfect. Take care.
Look out ladies! VW just got a 2nd cylinder! lol I've been looking at the V-Strom family. I'm torn between the 650 and the 1000 of the older versions. Congrats on the new family member!
It is all about weight for me. I'm hoping I can pick this up when dropped? 67 hp and 6 gears is more than enough to get me across the street or the USA. It wasn't even breathing hard on the trip home. Thanks again.
You overshot final LOL - Man, that is a great looking bike. I like those colors too. Somebody seems happier than shit with the new bike :-) Hate to say this about pilots - "we" take extremely good care of "things" - You can totally tell this bike was totally "pampered" Very freakin nice. Great find. I seem to be learning a lot about V-Strom's this afternoon LOL... Yours almost looks like a Sport Bike...
Thank You OW … yes I was coming in hot and there was quite a bit of loose rocks so I took the next turnoff. Yes it’s a very cool bike I’m very happy to get an almost new bike for 4k Plus I had the adventure of riding it home. Priceless! Yes the Gen 1’s are not as off road looking as the latest Gen 3’s but very little has been updated from everything else I have read typical Suzuki. Yes it seems pilots are anal about things, but that’s good. The two headlights with LEDs lights up everything at night. Great to hear from you.
Wow, so quiet too. That extra gear is nice I bet. Can't believe you got it for less than a dollar a mile! lol The only issues I've heard about with them is the bigger V-Strom, some people report the rear axle wearing and creating issues around 20k miles.
Thank You. It was a great deal for sure, and the gentleman/pilot who sold it could not have been nicer. It is always nice when you see the bike for the first time and realize the pictures did not do it justice. It never missed a beat all the way home. Quiet is nice.
Excellent point! I just picked up a V-Strom 1050XT and my mechanic told me the only issue they have is improper chain tension adjustment. Alot of people have the chain too tight and it wears out the countershaft sprocket bearing. Cheers!
Nice ride Widget, adventures right around the corner, enjoy.
Thank You, it was such a great ride bringing it home from Montana.

Love it! Beautiful bike.
Thank You JM, the bike was definitely cared for, it found a good home for care, riding and adventures.
Hey mate, thanks for the video just a quick question. Are those vstrom decals on the front/side fairing actually grey/black or grey/gold?
fuck me - I did not realize (a-hem) I wasn't subbed on my inactive account. Expect more comments. Gotta re-watch LOL
Wow! Look at you … Mr two accounts 🤣😂
Living the dream as always. Great to hear from you DR Dane.

Hey Ed, thank you, it's like a new bike for 1/3 of the price. It fit my budget and exceeded my expiations.

I enjoyed the video, what helmet are you using and is the high vis paint fading? Thank you
It is a FLY Trecker helmet, my second one in bright yellow, yes both of them faded after a few years. Sorry I missed your comment..
