Another nice adventure. Thanks! I hope that all is well.
A couple more years or so, gonna be out there riding as a retired man, that sure is pretty country
@@jpaulie2008 That would be sweet. 👍🏼
Nice ride along!!
@@Motoramblings Glad you came along, poor Tenere T700 missed the action this year. But was a beast on the entire ride.

So weird to see so little green… 4:17

Can you possibly give me the exact dimensions of that Nomadic rack on your XR650L please,, Thanks great video
I no longer have the XR650, Thank you
I want to ask what forks are you running on this bike? I see they are inverted.
They are CRF 450x forks with stiffer springs. Sold the bike miss it.
Hey, how's it going? I'd like to use your clip in a moto edit. I'll make sure to credit you in all the descriptions. Is that okay?
Thats a nice headpipe you got with the lexx tailpipe. Fmf power bomb? Would you recommend it?
You didn't even let us hear it.. the reason I watched was to hear the sound. Fail
Greetings, WOW, congratulations 🇺🇲🎉🍾🇺🇲 As always another excellent detailed video production. Would you provide me with the link to purchase the winglets and chain guide. Thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos about the T7

My lung function has diminished from Covid as well. This disease was created by the US government in a lab in Wuhan China. And nobody cares. 🤷 I hate this country so much now! 😡
Can you please share your parts list for me? Thanks!
Looking for some in-depth info on the drzsm fork swap I have spent most of this year piecing together all that’s needed for a rmz450 swap just to change my mind and now I’m on the road to the drzsm swap 🤦🏻♂️ questions: Where you able to use drzsm triple clamp? Did you use the drzsm steering stem? Does the steering stops work without modifications? Then there is the wheel I thing you used the drz400s front wheel What axle and wheel spacers did you use ? And lastly what is your brake setup dr650, drzs, drzsm oh and one more thing did I hear you say the forks have race tech springs?
I do, I get frustrated with Suzuki’s laziness. The V650 could be so much more with very little effort. The DR, DRZ, V650 and RMZ Mx bikes all are years and years behind the times. They roll out new old designs, BNG’s (bold new graphics) new colors but decades old designs.
1500 miles is nothing. Obviously 1000 will be better but who wants to ride V strom on highway. Take it on dirt and backroads and then tell me 1000 is a better choice…
This was my 3rd V650, I’ve owned all three generations, and have a 4th V650 a gen 2 which is my favorite of the 3 gen’s. I put over 6k miles on the bike last month alone, and have been riding locally every day. Owned two gen 2, V1000 with about 7k combined between the two on & off road, owned 2 Vstrom 1050’s with a 3rd on the way and the Vstrom 1000/1050 are much better on the street, trips and dirt. Reason is the updated USD front suspension and better rear shock, you sit in the bike not on top like a V650 so the weight and balance feels much lower. Suzuki neutered the V650 with its 1970 conventional front forks and fork riding position, the wimpy 7/8 handle bars and cheaper rear shock. If you want a nice gen 2 vstrom I have one for sale. I’m done riding and trying to make a V650 into a good bike. Suzuki needs to improve the V650 or put it to rest. If you ride to the store or work it’s fine. If you take trips, ride dirt or want to pass a car on a mountain grade get the V1000/1050.
@@verbalwidget7267 so you have experienced all of them. You know what you are doing than. Good luck with the new one.
‘It’s only got 1,485 miles, and I’m putting it up for sale’. Interesting. Some people are very clear about what they want. Me, I’ve owned more bikes than I can even remember. One thing I’ve learned is that it often (not always) takes some time and miles to appreciate a bike. It’s interesting to get that ah ha feeling when you get what the designers were trying to do. But then again, some bikes just don’t work for some people (I sure have a list of bikes I’d never ride). When I first picked up my ‘06 650 Vstrom, I was kind of underwhelmed with it, but as the miles accumulated and I got more in tune with the bike, I now consider it a keeper. Cest la vie.
Con cuantos dientes quedó la corona ( trasera)?
Not sure if you’re still active on here, but I was curious if you knew the name of your luggage rack. I like the simple sleek design. Thanks for your time, have a nice day!
@@HPDlEHPDlE there is a rack comparison video that will have the name for you on my older videos. I don’t recall it.
Wha…WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?
@@stb357 gave it good thick forks with stiffer springs and ddc’s and a twin caliper front brake’s Totally different bike.

In 2018 I was going to get a Vstrom 650. I like Suzuki's I've owned two of them back un the 70's . However my son-in-law bought me BMW GS 1200 and that was that.
I understand, I bought a 2015 Vstrom 650 for a group ride this year, I did a few comfort mods, and put 5k miles on the bike all through the USA. It did do the ride, and got me back home with the usual Vstrom reliability. But I’m selling the 650 and going back to the V1050. There’s no comparison. Enjoy the GS
I got the XR’s only desmog kit on the way, with the jets and ‘air box mod’ they offer, I haven’t gotten it yet so waiting to see what jets they are and what the airbox mod actually is. I’ll find out if it ever shows up.
Still enjoy riding my wee afraid if I rode a 1000 would think the same. I get it more road oriented for long rides and high speed. Im weird like that; seeing how many miles can be pounded out of a beast. Then sell for parts if any good are left.
The Wee is a good machine no doubt, my main complaint is Suzuki forgot about the bike and desperately needs a suspension upgrade like the V1000. I purchased a Gen 2 V650 and took it on a 5000-mile trip a few weeks ago. The bike got me there and back but for the highway the bigger Vstrom has all the advantages. In the mountains of Colorado, Idaho & Montana it struggled to maintain speed limits and lacked passing power. My gas mileage was in the 38 to 43 range consistently and worse than similar trips on a big Vstrom. The bike made it, and I had fun and do enjoy the bike, but I have plans to sell it and go back to the liter Vstrom. The stability with the better adjustable suspension is noticeable better, the engine always has enough power, and the bike has been updated and refined over the years where the Wee has been forgotten. Thank you.
@@verbalwidget7267 100% However I bought the Wee at a bargain and live with the stock suspension. Probably time too upgrade this winter. Possibly the seat also; as long road trips are common for Me.
Ouch! That's a long one. I tap out at about 700 these days.
It just depends, I felt good, weather was good and killer LED headlight bulbs and riding a Vstrom. Last year on a T700 rode from Checotah, OK to Peoria, AZ over 1100 miles with the stock 4 gallon gas tank, things just clicked love the T700 have video but kind of slacking.
Next time, do it on a unicycle with a flat tire…..😉 My buddy used to ride all over place on a KLR and a VStrom. He said the VStrom was definitely a good bike to tour on.
Trust me .... nobody wants to see an old fat guy on a Unicycle. Your friend is wise, I also have a very nice gen 1 KLR650
My days of slogging down the slab for big miles are behind me. That said, if I had to do it, my ‘06 650 Vstrom would be the bike I’d do it on.
Things have to align up right, I had the weather, good night's sleep, big bright moon and a Vstrom.
Idaho. What London Police had to do in the wake of Jack the Ripper's killings.
New phoenix rider here, hoping to one day do cool trips like this; thank you for the inspiration
No worries, traveling on a bike is great, start small and work your way up. Wear the gear for the ride and have fun. Life is short, I wish you safe travels.
Years ago there was an "Iron Butt Race" where it was practically impossible to ride 1,000 miles in 24 hours. This man topped those guys with ease, and 10 hours to spare. I've ridden all day, and could not do one half of this story. Anyway...
Last year on the Yamaha T700 I made it 1100 miles in less than 24 hours. I have the footage of it just haven't posted it yet.
Are you sure that you read your odometer properly? I find this impossible to believe. Beautiful bike though.
it averages out to 65mph. Seems believable. I did 560 miles in 10 hours on my vstrom a few months ago, but I was stopping a lot. 921 miles in 14 hours sounds brutal but not impossible
Well just google Idaho Falls to Peoria, AZ and see if my odometer is close. 🤣😂 My dead butt says it was right on.
Could actually be much better without the word whiskers and exclamations. Just visiting. Good luck
I just bought a 12” dl650, and I LOVE the relaxing nature of the bike. Nothing about it is rushed, throttle is smooth, quiet motor. Perfect motorcycle to chill out on without crushing my wallet. Great footage btw!
Thank you, I had a 2012 V650 a few years ago, and that led to the purchase of this bike. Dollar for dollar one of the best deals around, and just a great reliable bike. Enjoy the Vstrom.
The bike driver should give the truck HIS insurance for wrecking his door.
Give me your insurance for what ? You can’t drive on the shoulder.
It’s illegal to pass on the right if it’s marked with a line if there was no markings at all, you can do that
Not bad for a 9 year old bike.
I live in Surprise, AZ and have another place in Klamath Falls, OR. I’ve ridden my bikes (Yamaha Super Tenere and a Kawasaki Voyager) up and back multiple times. This last trip on the Labor Day long weekend on my Tenere up thru the middle of NV to Battle Mtn, to Winnemucca, north to NV140/NV140 to Klamath. 1079 miles, I applied for the SaddleSore1000 certificate. Between the heat and crosswinds you do get beat up. Well worth the ride, the last 300 miles (to Klamath) makes it worth it. Stay safe!
That was a heck of a good ride, you sure had the right bikes for doing the distance. I would love to cross Nevada on bike, but it's just been blistering hot. Lived in Bend, OR and made the trip it several times in a car. I find the desert expanse beautiful.
Great too find a fellow V Strom rider / creater. Liked and subscribed. Nice video
Thank you, I'll have more videos of the trip from the beginning, and of other V1000 and V1050 rides.
Only 80 miles away from an official IBA (Iron Butt Association) certification. Much respect, and deserves an honorary mention. I don't like to drive at night on my DR 650. I bought the bulb from your headlight upgrade video but it has been on my shelf for 2 years. Maybe this winter?
Sitting at stop lights in neutral not watching mirrors is a great way to get smoked from behind by someone not paying attention to traffic. Nice bike though.
Your new seat pad must work well or you just got numb enough to ignore the pain. It was a fantastic journey to follow. Thanks!
@@ParallelCamper that seat pad worth every penny of the the $40 bucks paid.
@@verbalwidget7267 I think I'll try one rather than spending $400 on a Suzuki factory comfort seat on my GSXS
Awesome video,, thx for posting.. Couple quick questions, what gps are you using and can you transfer tracts to it and last could it be used on a BDR route.. Thx again...
No it’s just a car gps but works great for road riding and doesn’t break the bank.
Thx for the info..

Joe ... Mr. LUND guy. Thank you, it was a great trip to some places that I had not seen before and was able to meet up with some very nice people. I thought about you as I traveled through Wyoming, such a beautiful place. CC would have been useful for sure, not even a throttle lock on the Vstrom like last year, those are handy too. We need to do a breakfast soon brother.
