  • B series oil pan gasket removal and installation. This oil pan gasket fits all of the b series engines. The process is the same for all integras, CRVs, b16 del sols, civic Si, and any b series swapped Honda’s.

    Hope this video motivates someone else out there to fix their leaks. And keep these Honda’s on the road!

    You can use torch to ease removal of the old gasket. Doesn't have to be a cutting torch, just a propane or butane bottle torch from Walmart. You can get it off cleanly in about 15 min. Or you could try a heat gun or hot hair dryer. Heat the side that doesn't have to gasket and when the sticky stuff melts enough to pull it lose, use pliers or wear gloves and pull it off in pieces, maybe 6-9, depending on how hot your heat source is. If it's not coming off cleanly, heat is more before pulling off the gasket.

      Great advice! I’ll try that next time

    You actually want to add the honda bond in between the engine block and the gasket at the 4 corners where there are seems in the engine block. The RTV (honda bond) does not go between the gasket and the oil pan. The Honda bond is for sealing the seams in the engine block not for holding the gasket to the pan. If you are going to use honda bond all the way around you actually don't need the gasket at all. the RTV is a gasket maker. I'm sure this way works fine but its not the technically correct way to do it. although it might leak a little over time between the seams in the engine where the honda bond was supposed to go on the other side of the gasket.

      You’re right. Mine started leaking about 6 month later and had to replace it again. Didn’t use any Hondabond the 2nd time and it held nicely. No leaks

      @@MooreProjects Did you skip the Hondabond altogether. I found a Feldpro gasket which is more rigid and has metal. I read that with that, you on need to put RTV in the stepped areas or these specific areas. But there are no angled areas. I would think you could skip the RTV/sealant. Just thought I'd check to see what you ended up doing. Mine is a 99 Honda Accord DX.

      @aaroncalhounash3103 Can you tell me if this is the same on a Honda Accord (1999 DX-- four cylinder)? I got a Feldpro gasket, and I want to minimize use of Hondabond. I don't see the stepped areas or areas with an angle I've read about. The person helping me thought maybe we could skip the RTV, because it's pretty smooth.

    The sealant youre referencing before you install the gasket is from them sealing the oil pump. Not hondabond in the corners

    Can u use JUST honda bond As a gasket

    • @MooreProjects
      @MooreProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Christopher Roman no you can use it with a gasket but Alone I don’t think would be a good idea on a Honda. On other cars maybe just silicone would be fine. Hondabond is only semi hardening
