  • I replace a faulty oil pump o-ring on a 1999 Honda Crv. This video shows how to remove the oil pump for all Honda B series engines found in JDM and USDM versions of the Honda CRV Civic and Del Sol as well as the Acura Integra. These engines include B18A B18B B20B2 B18C B18C1 B18C5 B20Z2 B20B B16A2 B16A3 B16A B18A1 B18B1 B16B
I also install the Fel-Pro Permadry oil pan gasket (part # OS30630T). This is BY FAR the BEST b series oil pan gasket on the market.

Is there anything I need to do or swap from the 2z to the b?

Man! I wish I saw this video a few days ago. I just did my timing belt. I was going to replace the crank seal but I couldn’t get the timing belt gear off. I need to replace my oil pan gasket anyway. If I knew this I probably could have pried it off from the inside 😭😭😭

I have followed your channel for probably a couple of years now. I bought an RD1 as a learning project which has turned out to be a lot of fun. When I start rebuilding the vehicle, I changed the timing belt, water pump, bought the oil pan gasket ( with the "T" at the end ), lash job, replaced the valve stem seals, the entire suspension, practically everything in your videos. At one point, when I was changing out the oil pan gasket I thought about this video and even watched it. I figured, nah, my vehicle is not leaking oil, I won't worry about it.
After all this work, the vehicle runs great, I got about 30k miles with no issues but 3 weeks ago it developed the O-Ring oil leak. Now I'm undoing most of the work I did just to get this O-Ring. If you are changing out your timing belt and especially if you are removing the oil pan, I would change the O-Ring, like Phil says, "Your right there". I wish I did 😂
    Thanks for the videos!

Just looking back at the video, if you look at about the 15 minute mark, you can see how I used a paint pen to mark the timing gear before I removed the belt. There is also a mark on the timing belt that correlates with that mark. I do that on both timing gears as well BEFORE removing the belt. Obviously, this method won't work if you are replacing the belt, but thought I would point that out.
