I just want to give some positive vibes. As a native Manhattanite, I appreciate what you are doing. if you can complete this you will own the definitive guide to New York City. That's not the definitive skylines guide, but rather THE definitive guide to NYC.
So cool to see my apartment in the game. Hudson Yards is very corporate, but super easy access to everything from 34th St / Penn Station. And the views of the southern tip of Manhattan are breathtaking, right at the edge of the lower density on 33rd St.
I would love to see you build northward and do Times Square and Columbus Circle since that's the area I stayed in when I visited New York for the first time back in 2009. But more than that I'd love it if you'd just do some mass building to fill in the empty parts of the city that don't have any particular landmark buildings, just to bulk the city up a bit and make it feel more complete.
My ex-gf used to live at The Eugene, which was the tallest rental available in the city I think back when it was originally built a few years back. It was already impressive enough, but I remember seeing the Edge nearby really blew my mind. The Shops always stood out to me in an odd way; it kind of reminded me of the typical shopping centers you'd see in other parts of the country like CA.
I’ve dreamed of going to nyc basically my whole life. I’d love to visit the Hudson yards mainly bc of the edge. Along with the Rockefeller center and wtc observatories
I actually really enjoyed walking thru Hudson Yards, seeing the bird's nest and walking the Highline. I know much of the city is iconic but I also think having a few new neighborhoods keeps the city alive and always evolving. I do agree walking around the neighborhoods where my family was living, West Village (Downing) and Park Slope is more classic New York. NYC is the best city in the world. I have been binge watching your channel (heard about it from I am Pie) You are doing an amazing job, my favourite build I've ever seen so far. I can't wait until you get your hands on Cities 2! Also, just curious, can you do a walk around (short clip) and I would like to see the view from the ground as compared to real life, thx)
Great series, looking foreward to each new episode! But if you would use the speedslider to like 50% speed or slower, the camera would be slower as well, which would make this timelaps videos less hectic to watch. Akruas doas it in this way and it makes the timelapses even more enjoyable. Greetings from Leipzig
I thought of a way you can get around the underground train station mod dysfunction - plunk down Penn Station somewhere else, use the touch it mod to reduce it to just a building, put in two vanilla rib cage stations that have tracks at both ends, lay out your underground tracks, move the Penn Station building into its place and you're done! Grand Central can be done the same way. Hope it works for you.
Another awesome video! I have been waiting for this, can't wait for the livestream! Wonder how your gonna tackle the Javits Center, please tell me your doing the Javits Center! I actually like Hudson Yards! Granted, its not the best pace to have it, much perfer seeing the train yard, but it fits well. What i think they should have done, was that because the Javits Center is right across the street, they should have made Hudson Yards more taylored towards the JC. Like the towers there more as Hotels and apartments, then offices, imo. Also you mentioned Secaucus! How about instead, building Hoboken Terminal instead and having ferry's come across the river like irl? that way you can get ferries and still be able to connect everything up!
On my recent trip to New York, I was pretty amazed at how difficult it was to walk from Penn Station to the mall at Hudson Yards despite it only being two blocks away. What should have been a 15 minute walk ended up talking closer to half an hour due to all of the construction and horrible walkability on 30th between 9th and 10th avenues. Ended up having to turn around to take the tunnel by the USPS sorting facility on 29th and nearly got mowed down by a stream of cars who completely disregarded the crosswalk while making right-hand turns onto 10th Ave despite myself having the right of way. Definitely my least favorite area of Manhattan that I had the chance to explore.
Amazing work so far! I just discovered your channel through this video and I'm super impressed and I subscribed. Best of luck with this project and I hope you complete it! I personally see Hudson Yards almost the same way as I see Times Square. It's just a massive tourist attraction that I avoid most of the time unless I'm in the area and have nothing better to do. Kinda reminds me of Dubai in a way, super flashy with not much substance. Would love to see you work on the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island soon. Might be fun to figure out how to make the tram!
@@csch1510 We call it a tram but it's more of a cable car. If you're ever visiting new york you should definitely check it out! There's also plans to install a traditional "tram" aka light rail in Brooklyn though
There is an updated version of the Penn station on the workshop. I'm sure it's possible to make it work, even after latest updates. It works fine for me. But as a replacement you can also try using a couple of sunken train stations instead of underground ones and place a building or a surface on top of them. I also highly recommend to check out Prosper's Patreon page. He has a bunch of great NYC highrises.
an idea for you is to have outside train connections to become LIRR, Amtrack, and Metro North. That way, you are able to maybe be able to start off with penn station, then heading into queens to build a yard and build more stations. also, 34th street actually doesn’t have those sidewalks in the middle
Yes the outside train connections exist. And yup, 34th has no median, but I'm using mostly vanilla roads (to save ram for buildings), and I wanted bus lanes
I just thought of an interesting "capper" episode for this series. To finish off the series, you could visit some of the focal points of this series comparing what you built in game to what's actually there.
Hey! I don't know if you know anything about this, but I just wanted to ask. I play city's skylines on my ps4, and I wondered if you know any high-rise assets. Great build!
Dear Ithinkyouknow, Another suggestion if I may do so This isn't about a specific part of the city, but... Could you please tell us in one of the upcoming videos, why are there so many movies which chose NYC as the place of the filming?
As a New Yorker, I don't like Hudson Yards at all since I'm a railfan and Hudson Yards covers up west side yard so I won't be able to see the trains soon, which is very sad

Watching you build the lincoln tunnel connections really puts into perspective how much of an eye sore it is.
I legit got a Hudson yards ad before this video LOL amazing content as always this series is wonderful!

I used to live at 36th and Dwyer…so cool to see you build the Lincoln Tunnel and amazing how different Hudson Yards looks fine when I moved in 2015
I'd like to see Central Park
I’ve dreamed of going to nyc basically my whole life. I’d love to visit the Hudson yards mainly bc of the edge. Along with the Rockefeller center and wtc observatories
As they say about the Edge, the best part about it is you can't see Hudson Yards.

Here it is. I asked, you delivered. Nice work.
I really appreciate your videos because I learn a lot about NYC from your videos. I want to go there one day but have never been before.

That's good advice, thanks. I run my cinematics at 50%, and some of my timelapse footage and live plays are at 70%

Definitely get Dubai vibes in HY. The tram is actually pretty easy to build, but fun!
Wait a sec, there is a tram in NYC? Didn't know until now!

Thanks Cateinum I'll give that updated Penn a shot later.
For Penn Station, you can build underground train stations using the MOM mod! there may be a way to do it without the vanilla metro station entrances
I would love to see you build central Park because I live in NYC but I have only went there 1 time so I would love to see you build center park.
I'll build out a small portion of it at some point, but not soon

I've only ever flown into Berlin on my way to Leipzig. Definitely a city I want to explore.

Suggestion for next episode, as always will be Mets-Willets-Point, but to be realistic. Billionaires Row.
Hudson Yards actually looks nice, though. But, I would really like to see Some of queens since it it’s my home borough.
it's very cool . waiting for a new video
hudson yards feels like new york's version of london's canary wharf
Agreed!
How do you get so much cars popping up everytime you plop something? I love it!
Yes I lived this video I also like Huston yards
you built my building !!! lol
I'd love to see more public spacees, how about the green walk/sky walk
(don't know the exact name of the place)
Love it!

Can you PLEASE do a separate tutorial on how to use the new image overlay mod.
Amtrak has thru-running service at Penn Station....fyi
Hi ithinkyouknow, i have a question. Have you built your apartment yet
What LUT are you using for this series?
Add the 2001 twin towers for fun
How come you didn't make your subway lines directly underneath the streets?
Easier to connect the nodes. Otherwise I'd have to build subway first, making it less accessible later.
As a New Yorker, I don't like Hudson Yards at all since I'm a railfan and Hudson Yards covers up west side yard so I won't be able to see the trains soon, which is very sad
Just wait until they build the rest of the platform. No more trains :(
Hey my cats named farley and when you said james farley he shot over to my computer lol
Good kittie
Where are the assets that you use?
how far does the map extend into Long Island
Not too far. Unless you count Brooklyn and Queens haha
I have a feeling you don’t like Hudson yards but I’m not sure
I don't love it or hate it. It could just be so much better
omg is that the roblox music remixed?
It's music I got from audio jungle. I've never played roblox
