He wanted to do the right thing but Waller forced him to follow orders he knew were wrong and he ended up getting killed for his good intentions. Hopefully, he’ll be alive much longer in the new DCEU by James Gunn.
He's not, and I think it's a good thing because it's such an important moment in peacemakers character, he thought of Flag as a hero and looked up to him yet he was the one who had to kill him for what he believed was the greater good but deep down he knows Rick was also right in what he did, he was just trying to people the same as himself but through opposing means Also apparently peacemaker season 2's main antagonist will be Rick flag Sr who is his father and is trying to get revenge for peacemaker killing his son
Serves you right Thinker and Peacemaker, he may become a antihero in the show later on but in this movie Peacemaker is undoubtedly an evil supervillain
not a supervillain, a stooge, much more realistic, and with nothing to respect or admire even in a villainous way, like say, with Luthor, who is so over the top and "on his own" you have to admire how much he's willing to commit to his vision, but Peacemaker is just a soulless soldier in this.
This movie is so well shot, like damn. Obviously the helmet reflection fight rules, but the moment when ratcatcher sees peacemaker kill flag, at first, peacemaker is shown normally, and ratcatcher is from behind this fence like she's in a cage. But then when she grabs the goober, giving her the upper hand, she is shown normally, and peacemaker is trapped. So good!
I just love that Rick's death made him reconsider his “for peace i can kill men, women and children for peace" thing like in peacemaker he was ordered to kill the family who are a global threat to the world but he didn't he hesitated hands shaking first time not able to press the triger
Hate it when angles and moves don’t match in the choreography. When he hits him with the pipe it cuts to a completely different direction than when he started the attack.
Both Peacemaker and Amanda Waller were jerks in this movie. They both decided to kill Rick Flag for no reason. And Flag was right about Peacemaker: Peacemaker what a joke. First Boomerang and now Rick Flag
John Cena in real life has lifted over 750 pounds up over his head. Assuming a skinny guy like Flag only weighs like 160 pounds and assuming Cena is enraged its totally believable that he could toss him around like that.
I'm still impressed they managed to turn Rick Flag from a character I could not give any less of a shit about in Suicide Squad (2016) into someone I was actually upset to see die.
Don't know if I'm overanalyzing, but I feel like the close up shot of Flag's heart being stabbed is meant to parallel the death of Enchantress, whose heart also had to be destroyed, and by him.

If only Katana were here, she always had his back. She could have cut Peacemaker in half with one sword stroke just like mowing the lawn. It would be inadvisable to get killed by her, her sword traps the souls of its victims.
I'm here because i watched creature commandos
Man, this fight was awesome. That helmet shot of the fight is amazing, and the fight itself is so raw and brutal. Shame about Flag dying, but at least it forwards the plot and affects Peacemaker psychologically later in his own show.
On an unrelated note, Thinker's death is my favorite gore death in the entire movie! Thinker isn't a character I particularly care about, but man, that death is brutal and amazing!
The grittiness of the fight reminds me of the final fight between Spiderman and the Goblin in Spiderman 1 and the fight between The Russian and the Punisher in its 2004 movie, I was disappointed by the kaiju climax in comparison
I guess Katana didn’t have his back after all..
she did not unfortunately
To hell with his back what about his heart?
@@I-speak-U-shut-it lol that’s 2 L’s now taken by Flagg
I thought Rick Flag was leading role, can't accept he just died like that
Damn Flag is so much more likeable here than in 2016
havent seen this since it first came out and noticing peacemakers face when he realizes he's killed Rick Flag it tracks better as I thght he was more villainous in this scene but actually seems to hate what he's done in the moment which further justifies his solo show IMO
It's interesting to look back at this after Peacemaker's show and see how haunted he was by it.
I know he could have stabbed Peacemaker with the knife he pulled out of himself at the beginning, but damn was this a great scene.
peacemakers power makes him too overpowered
like how did rick flag even stand a chance to fight an invisible guy
Such a slept on movie and scene because it wasn’t MARVEL. Such a same. Fantastic scene.
no it was slept on cus it released during August 2021 (covid was still somewhat big) and went straight to HBO max on release day. it should've been in theaters for atleast 1 month before going to HBO max, would've made more money
@@ImQuirkless It was also a sequel to a mediocre movie.
@@ImQuirkless This movie and all of WB movies from late 2020 to entire 2021 were released on HBO Max and theatres the same day. This was done by AT&T when they were the owner at that time.
I wish they didn’t kill Rick Flag. He was one of the most honorable and heroic one of the team. He wanted to do the right thing but Waller forced him to follow orders he knew were wrong and he ended up getting killed for his good intentions. Hopefully, he’ll be alive much longer in the new DCEU by James Gunn.
He's not, and I think it's a good thing because it's such an important moment in peacemakers character, he thought of Flag as a hero and looked up to him yet he was the one who had to kill him for what he believed was the greater good but deep down he knows Rick was also right in what he did, he was just trying to people the same as himself but through opposing means
Also apparently peacemaker season 2's main antagonist will be Rick flag Sr who is his father and is trying to get revenge for peacemaker killing his son
I can't believe people saw this scene and didn't think this character (Peacemaker) was redeemable with a modicum of exposition.
So good!
Where is KATANA? she was supposed to have his back.
The choice to show the glass piercing the heart is so visceral
It isn’t the death that scares me, it’s the fact that they did a close-up of his heart being stabbed.
You can see that PeaceMaker regretted that. The shift in his tone and his face. He really did not want to kill him
If Flag kept swinging the pipe rather than mounting Peacemaker, he honestly would've won
I just love that Rick's death made him reconsider his “for peace i can kill men, women and children for peace" thing like in peacemaker he was ordered to kill the family who are a global threat to the world but he didn't he hesitated hands shaking first time not able to press the triger
never thought john china would actually make me laugh as much as he made me when watching the peacemaker show. like goddamn that was great.
When katana doesn’t have your back:
God that fuckin heart stab is SO fuckin brutal.
1:54 flag off camera 🥵
His dad will be out for BLOOD
It's pretty underrated that Rick flag did that good in a fight against an invisible opponent
Underrated comment lol
Even though he killed flag, in the end, it was touching to see that peacemaker had respect for him.😢
I don’t think Flag really wanted to taste it.
Jesus I fuckin cannot believe this movie came out almlst 4 years ago now! What the fuck? Where does time go dude.
It almost feels like yesterday. I feel so old 😭
2:15 What's crazy is that there is no light inside the body and it's just completely dark in there.
John Cena should do more villainous roles he's actually good as an asshole lol
Hate it when angles and moves don’t match in the choreography. When he hits him with the pipe it cuts to a completely different direction than when he started the attack.
Both Peacemaker and Amanda Waller were jerks in this movie. They both decided to kill Rick Flag for no reason. And Flag was right about Peacemaker: Peacemaker what a joke. First Boomerang and now Rick Flag
Peacemaker killed Flagg in self defense.
This movie proved that the DC universe is safe with james gunn
Who here after watching Creature command
Peacemaker is just as insane as the joker. At least the joker knows he’s crazy
Rick Flag Sr in Creature Commandos is going to be heartbroken that his son died because of Peacemaker
James Gunn is amazing
Facts
I agree. Which is why im excited that he's the boss over at DC Studios :)
Fax
Dude peacemaker is a real super soldier
Yeah bro straight up has inhumane strength. Flag did pretty good in the fight tho
And yet people still want to talk shit about Gunn's new Superman. Henry Cavill is to what the 2016 Flag is😂
I swear they always kill off the most valid characters and the second movie…
If only Katana had his back
His back? What about his heart?
I love how her little rat doesn’t leave her side and is trying to defend her 🥺
Don't know if I'm overanalyzing, but I feel like the close up shot of Flag's heart being stabbed is meant to parallel the death of Enchantress, whose heart also had to be destroyed, and by him.
Remember children, while everyone else was looking to get time off their prison sentence Rick Flag was just clocking in for another monday.
Peacemaker, the Beelzemon of the Suicide Squad.
Ironically Ricks death brought Chris back because he hasn't felt a death like actually felt it sense his brother and Rick was a brother in arms.
That wound doesn't even make sense? How did it go through his ribs? There wasn't enough force behind the blow and the shard wasn't small enough to slip between the gap.
did u know wrestling is choerographed??
I love the detail of how towards the end of this scene, you can hear the sound of Bloodsport falling down
