Well, Bloodsport's problem is that he's literally shoving his guns into the face of his targets, which mean nothing to an enemy that doesn't care about losses; so long as a 'zombie' can grab a gun out of his hand before it dies, that's technically a win.
In the original comics, Bloodsports doesnt have nanotech as weapons but instead a teleporting device that can teleport any advance weapon straight to his arm which were given by Lexcorp so he can kill Superman. But the movie decide to change it to nanotech which is totally awesome and lot cooler imo.
Peacemaker got his own show. It's about time we get one for Bloodsport, my favorite character from the movie. The suit, that suit is gorgeous. Loved that. His abilities, weapons and gadgets are outstanding. A series would give us more of those on display.

At first I thought his ability was literally to turn anything electronic or mechanical into a weapon. Like he just touches a phone or clock and it turns into something lethal, hence all the little gadgets on his suit. But turns out its nanotech
I love that they did not even introduce him properly ( Weapons, powers, abilities) you just figure him out throughout the movie and let's you decide if he's badass or not, which i think he is, those wrist arrows are sick.
Originally, the actor was going to be replacing Will Smith as Deadshot, but they decided to make him Bloodsport to leave the window open for Will Smith returning as Deadshot. Honestly, I love that they went with that decision because we get to see more DC villains in the movies.
I love they used Bloodsport instead because he's less known then Deadshot so they had more room to make him standout, because there wasn't too much presumption on how his character should be. Also Idris is helluva lot better and cooler then Will "Bitchslap" Smith.

Bloodsport is easily one of my favourite heroes/villains in this film and well…most others tbh. That’s largely down to his character design in this film, and Idris Elba’s performance. He looks so cool and I loved his grumble attitude
I just can't get over just how absolutely fuckin badass his suit and helmet looks! Anti-hero big badasses with guns and swords who are just elite soldiers, super-human, are an alien, or have some sort of powered suit - have always been my favorite comic-book characters. Guys like Bloodsport have always been my cup of tea, whether it be DC, Marvel or Image comics. He's right up there with alongside the likes of Deathstroke, Deadpool, Spawn, Chapel, Fantomex, Grail, the Punisher, Deadshot, Dane, Warblade, Crossbones, Bloodstrike, and Taskmaster - and this film really did him justice. Just as much as the first Suicide-Squad movie did with Deadshot, (though the film itself wasn't very good, Will Smith's Deadshot and Kinneman's Rick Flag were fucking phenomenal and made it worth watching imo).
Superman has been killed many times before. If we are limiting it to persons or at least humanoids or human-like, he has been killed in the Obsidian Age arc along with the rest of the League. Gog has killed multiple Supermen. Superboy Prime killed the Earth-2 Superman, which is golden age Superman. Enchantress + Killer Frost nearly killed Superman. Manchester Black also nearly killed Superman by giving him a stroke. An energy version of Superman killed New 52 Superman as well. If we go by DC animation, Metallo also almost killed Superman with a Kryptonite Bullet in Justice League: Doom. If we aren't limiting it to humanoids, there is Doomsday of course.

It's not much of a "redemption arc" as he's still a villain at the end of the film, more precisely an Anti-villain here. And Bloodsports' suit is more of a symbol than whatever Winter Solider had.

Ironically the Bloodsport of the comics is a weapons expert, and all of his "magical" nanotech equipment was given by LexCorp, but DeBois was a mentally ill vietnam war draft evader that after learning of his brother Mike went to the war in his place and ended up losing his arms and legs, became insane, and Lex manipulated him into killing Superman.
I really have to say, James Gunn made an amazing pick from DC's roster for his Deadshot replacement, and he and casting found an excellent choice to portray him. Hell, given how fun the character's comic gimmick of teleporting weapons in translated to the screen, I'd say the first movie's choice of using Deadshot was a mistake. It's amazing how many "also ran" characters DC has in its history that have the potential to translate well to the big screen, but don't even get proper credit in comics.

The best movies and characters show, don’t tell. They did say he almost killed Superman though which is a big marketing towards his character.
To me his suit comes off as less nanotech and more collapsible/modular. I dig it much more than what we've seen previously. Pretty clever!! 😃

I really have to say, James Gunn made an amazing pick from DC's roster for his Deadshot replacement, and he and casting found an excellent choice to portray him.
Hell, given how fun the character's comic gimmick of teleporting weapons in translated to the screen, I'd say the first movie's choice of using Deadshot was a mistake.
It's amazing how many "also ran" characters DC has in its history that have the potential to translate well to the big screen, but don't even get proper credit in comics.
Bloodsport is a 1988 American martial arts action film directed by Newt Arnold and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Leah Ayres, Forest Whitaker, Donald Gibb, Roy Chiao, and Bolo Yeung. The film centers on Frank Dux (Van Damme), a United States Army Captain and ninjitsu practitioner, who competes in an underground, full-contact martial arts tournament called the Kumite in Hong Kong. It was one of Van Damme's first starring films and showcased his athletic abilities, launching his career as a mainstream action star.
The screenplay is based on many of Dux's claims first covered in the November 1980 issue of Black Belt magazine. The real Dux served as the film's action choreographer and technical advisor. After its release, many of Dux's claims were disputed, including by co-screenwriter Sheldon Lettich, who claimed Dux fabricated his fight record and the existence of the Kumite.
Bloodsport was produced by Cannon Films and released by Warner Bros. on 26 February 1988. Despite mixed reviews from critics, it was a considerable box office success, grossing $50 million on a budget of $1.5-2.3 million. It developed a strong cult following, and has been cited as an influence on the development of mixed martial arts. It spawned three direct-to-video sequels.

Given how he kept firing despite it doing no visible damage, it seems like he was trying to draw starros attention away from the buildings and onto them, remember that this dude actually has morals and cares for others as he takes on king shark for trying to eat people and nearly kills peacemaker for attempting to execute rat catcher.
We never really got to see it much but he got High strength, durability and stamina
Let's hope that Bloodsport will live and survive through whole DCEU . If he dies i will be very sad. 😥😥

I remember reading that the design of Blood sports helmet was based of the Xenomorph. Also interesting to note that Deadshots mask resembles the Predator.
