Hey man. Great video. I just have one question though. I am currently an international student with a study permit and my program requires me to do coop. My question is, during my coop, can I also work more than 20 hours at a second job (which will be by using my study permit)? Like, my coop requires me to work 40 hours a week anyways so my second job will also be 40 hours, so 80 hours in total. Both of the jobs are online which makes it easier to do. I asked my university's international center and they said that I can only work 20 hours part-time alongside my coop job (40 hours) but that actually doesn't make any sense since that 20 hour restriction only applies during an academic session i.e. when I am in school, and since I will be working over 20 hours during my coop term anyways, I should be able to hold a second job and work over 20 hours, right? I hope you can help me man. Thanks.
Great Video Thanks! Before the study program starts, can you be applying for jobs (just applying sending in resume), and start working once your program starts?

I would like to ask my situation here in Canada, I finished all my class online in the Philippines, I recently arrived here in Canada to finish my Co-op work program 30weeks (600hrs). my question is Can I work part time 4hrs per day and 4hrs per day for my coop in the same Company? like 20hrs part time per week and 20hrs co-op work per week in the same restaurant, or better that they are both different company? I do appreciate your response.
Hey Jayson, thank you for this video. I had a query as my eight-month graduate certificate program for financial planning from Seneca College offers co-op program, as you mentioned you were working in two different places so wanted to check the following: 1. Is there any working hours restrictions for co-op students? As in only 20 hours of work per week or can I work more than that in stores / cafes as well? 2. My co-op validity will expire with study permit itself right? Awaiting your response and best wishes👍🏻 From Angela, India
Angela Cherian thanks for watching and for the comment. Regarding your concerns: 1. COOP depends on program and college. Confirm to them if how many hours should you comply with your COOP program. In my case, the total of COOP houra that I should finish was 360 hours for 1 full sem. My COOP company was generous enough that even if I already teach my hours, the continued giving me hours to work with them as I had a paid COOP. Aside from my COOP company, I also worked part time in other company. As per IRCC, you can work more than 20 hours apart from your COOP company. 2. Whatever indicated in your SP, that will be your expiration date of COOP and ending of your program.

How is it that people can't pay tuition by working in the summer? 4 months of full time work! If you made 15$ an hour, worked 12 hours a day for 6 days a week, you'd be making 4,320$ a month! Take 1,320 off for taxes and monthly expenses. You still got 3,000 each month That's $12,000 in the summer Did I get this whole thing wrong?🤔

Rusty Nail thanks for watching and for the comment. It depends on the program if yiur COOP or placement is paid or not. I was the one who looked for COOP company that is why I was paid by my company. But unlike for nursing program or other healthcare, they call it placement and they paid for the semester and they were not paid by the institution.
Rusty Nail in my case, the part-time job that I was working with, I asked them that I wanted to do COOP with them and they answeres yes. That os the reason why I mentioned that better to look for a part-time job related to your program and atick with them to show your loyalty.

@@JaysonJim thank you for answering the question. I've been considering taking up more than one part time job once I get there, not to make life comfortable, but just so I could avoid debt while still having enough for expenses.

Hello, Jayson. An international student is allowed to work more than 20 hours per week during a scheduled break, and he/she must be a full-time student before and after the break. What if the student has taken only a prerequisite course before the scheduled break, will he/she be eligible to work more than 20 hours a week? Thank you.
Hi Jim, I've a Christmas break can I work fulltime?
Hi Jayson, is it easy to find part time jobs if you study in Conestoga?..In general, outside campus most probably not in line with your current course is ok.
TRAVEL STUFF thanks for watching and for the comment. If you’re not too choosy, you can find a job. I made videoa about “ STRATEGIES & TIP” for international student. I suggest to watch it too regarding working outside your program.
Very informative and helpful. Is the part time or full time student job taxable? If so, how many percent?
Thank you so mich for watching. Appreciate that. Yes, it is taxable. The tax depends on the province. Like here in Ontario, it’s 13%.

Hey Jayson, just wanna ask when I should stop working when I finish my study program? Currently I’m working full time on campus and I’m on my final semester.
Thanks for watching and for the comment. Once you received your completion letter, you must stop working. But once you applied for PGWP, you can continue working then.
does it applies to any school within the city other than your current school where you attend as a full time student? I mean i can work full time on campus in any other universities within my city and not necessary to my school?
Hi Jim, Thanks for the information. Really great video. I have a doubt. I am a first-year undergraduate student.
I am planning to take 3 of my second-year subjects during the Sem break as a part-time student and with that whether I will be able to complete my Second Year program before its scheduled completion? and if I complete all the subjects before the scheduled completion dates, whether I can start my co-op before its schedule? Can you please explain what is the benefit of taking some subjects in sem break (both money-wise and time-wise )?
The vedio is much informative bro. I have one question, can i work more than 40 hours per week in my academic break? Is there any limit regarding the hours of work in the scheduled breaks?.

like 20hrs part time per week and 20hrs co-op work per week in the same restaurant, or better that they are both different company? I do appreciate your response.

Hi Is there a limit or restriction for the number of hours for working full-time during a scheduled break ? Please let me know
Hey Jayson, thank you for this video. I had a query as my eight-month graduate certificate program for financial planning from Seneca College offers co-op program, as you mentioned you were working in two different places so wanted to check the following:
1. Is there any working hours restrictions for co-op students? As in only 20 hours of work per week or can I work more than that in stores / cafes as well?
2. My co-op validity will expire with study permit itself right?
Awaiting your response and best wishes👍🏻
From Angela, India
Angela Cherian thanks for watching and for the comment. Regarding your concerns:
2. Whatever indicated in your SP, that will be your expiration date of COOP and ending of your program.
thank you for answering.
My doubt was that. Will i still be able to work while studying if my program doesn't have co-op.?
If yes! Do have to apply separately for the work permit or it will be issue automatically if my study permit get approved?
Thanks for watching and for the comment. If you don't have a CO-OP, you can still work for 20 hours per week. If I am not mistaken, no need for a work permit for that since you program doesn't have a CO-OP.

Hey Jim, I got TAship from Carleton University. I will be doing TA in campus so can I do a part time job along with that, off campus for 20hrs a week?
How is it that people can't pay tuition by working in the summer?
4 months of full time work!
If you made 15$ an hour, worked 12 hours a day for 6 days a week, you'd be making 4,320$ a month!
Take 1,320 off for taxes and monthly expenses.
You still got 3,000 each month
That's $12,000 in the summer
Did I get this whole thing wrong?🤔

Hi.. Is co-op/internship term po ba is full paid?
Rusty Nail thanks for watching and for the comment. It depends on the program if yiur COOP or placement is paid or not. Like for example in Global Hospitality Management which I took, there was no TF for COOP. I just paid for the medical insurance.
