- If you arena will be an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT here in CANADA, you are eligible to work while studying. But there are conditions that you need to be aware of.
In this video, you will know what ON-CAMPUS and OFF-CAMPUS are and how many hours you can work, what should be the CONDITIONS in your STUDY PERMIT, samples of study and WORK PERMITS, CO-OP WORK EXPERIENCE and how many hours can you work during your CO-OP term and all about working full time during semester or scheduled breaks.
Lastly, I also indicated what the government of Canada will do if you don’t comply on the study and work permits conditions.

I just have one question though. I am currently an international student with a study permit and my program requires me to do coop. My question is, during my coop, can I also work more than 20 hours at a second job (which will be by using my study permit)? Like, my coop requires me to work 40 hours a week anyways so my second job will also be 40 hours, so 80 hours in total. Both of the jobs are online which makes it easier to do. I asked my university's international center and they said that I can only work 20 hours part-time alongside my coop job (40 hours) but that actually doesn't make any sense since that 20 hour restriction only applies during an academic session i.e. when I am in school, and since I will be working over 20 hours during my coop term anyways, I should be able to hold a second job and work over 20 hours, right? I hope you can help me man. Thanks.

Hello Jayson. Can one work more than 20 hrs after a week during the short break between end of spring semester and start of summer semester. Meanwhile the person has worked less than 20 hrs a week during the spring exam period.

Hi Jayson, is it easy to find part time jobs if you study in Conestoga?..In general, outside campus most probably not in line with your current course is ok.

Thanks for watching. It will depend on your program if you will be having a CO-OP term. But if you don’t have, the Study Permit suffice because there will be a condition that you can work on and off campus.
Hello, Jayson. An international student is allowed to work more than 20 hours per week during a scheduled break, and he/she must be a full-time student before and after the break. What if the student has taken only a prerequisite course before the scheduled break, will he/she be eligible to work more than 20 hours a week? Thank you.

1. Any international student can work on- and off-campus regardless if the programs has CO-OP or not as indicated in your Study Permit.
2. CO-OP is part of your program. Depending on your program whether it isba 1 full term or not. During your CO-OP, you can still work part time on- and off-campus for more than 20 hours.
3. With your prospective program, CO-OP depends on your DLI if they offer CO-OP to that program. I suggest to go to the website of DLI and check it ther.

My question is, If I get a full-time job, should I quit working after completing the required hours? if thats the case I think no one will hire me for just 7 weeks. Alexandra Layug thank you so much for watching. Iglf he will take 2 programs that are also fulltime, he will be granted 3 yrs PGWP. With regard to the 1 sem break, he can but it will depend on the program when will he take the 2nd one. Also, please make sure to communicate with your internationals school advisor to get necessary details because they will advice you if he can work fulltime or not during that break.
Hi Jayson, what if my program has a paid coop, then 35 to 40 hrs/ week for 4 months, pwede pa din ba magwork part time kahit 15hrs lang during paid coop? Let say 40 hrs per week yung coop then, during weekend ngpart time ako 15 hrs, so total of 55hrs paid in a week. Is it allowed? Thank you

I was doing my COOP ina Mexican company and I was a part timer at the hotel. As per IRCC, if you are having your COOP, you can work more that 20 hours apart from your COOP hours.

Thank you so much for watching. Appreciate your comment. With regard to your question, if your program is considered as 1 yr, you will get 1 yr PGWP. One of the application to get PR is Express Entry thru Canadian Work Experience that needs at least 1 yr Canadian experience but 1 yr PGWP is not enought for that. The good thing is, you may also consider other PNP programs to other provinces.

1. Once you are still in your academic term, you must only work for 20 hours per week.
2. If you are on your COOP term, aside from your COOP job, you can still work for another job more than 20 hours.
3. Whatever condition that is indicated in your permits, you must follow it.

If the online freelancing is not part of the school, it means it's off-campus.
Not sure about the stock market.

1. COOP depends on program and college. Confirm to them if how many hours should you comply with your COOP program.
In my case, the total of COOP houra that I should finish was 360 hours for 1 full sem. My COOP company was generous enough that even if I already teach my hours, the continued giving me hours to work with them as I had a paid COOP. Aside from my COOP company, I also worked part time in other company. As per IRCC, you can work more than 20 hours apart from your COOP company.
2. Whatever indicated in your SP, that will be your expiration date of COOP and ending of your program.
Between 2 semesters there is a 15 day space. If i complete my first semester am full time enrolled for second semester can I work full time in those 15 days between the 2 sems

Hi. How are you? If I do part time online tutor (tution job online) in my campus hotel or any other hotel in the city (I mean in my room where I live in a hotel) will considered as off campus job. Thanks for watching. If your friend is a fulltime student, he/she can work on-campus and off-campus for 20 hours per week. But make aure that is is also indicated in your friend’s study permit as condition.

I have completed a one-yr program and my next one-year program starts in 3 months. Am I eligible to work full-time in this duration?! If yes, can I work upto 80hrs or more in a week for multiple employers? Can i only work 40hrs/week for one employer?
How is it that people can't pay tuition by working in the summer?
