HI GUYS. First of all, you are highly helpful with all the videos you provide. Second, I have an important concern related to this topic, I'd appreciate it if you answered me. I have a work and study permit which was supposed to start in the fall term (September); however, because of an emergency I had to change DLI and I couldn't find a spot for my program in the same term, so I had to enroll me for the spring term(May). Then, I decided to enroll myself in an English full-time program for the Fall and winter terms, in order to hold my study permit and show that I am pursuing my studies; nevertheless, I started working part-time besides that. My question is: Am I violating my study and work permit conditions because I am working part-time while taking prerequisite courses prior to my main program? such as an ESL or FSL course..
Thanks for your kind feedback! You are only allowed to work part time while your study permit is active and you are attending school full time for what your study permit is intended for. If you change the school or program you have to inform IRCC as they will update your study permit. Great video! Will i be in problems if i work before my program starts because of being kept at a waitlist for admission? This happened to me and i ran out of money and i had no choice but to work part time
I failed in 2 subjects in my study and teachers filed multiple academic integrity to me because for various reasons like not providing links and citations which I did not know would result in academic integrity. So is there a chance that my work VISA could get rejected?
Hey, I realized that the immigration officers forgot to add the work authorization statement in my study permit. So I gave it for amendment. Am I allowed to work during this period?
I have a question. should i stop working after the grades are up in the portal, or when the transcript and completion letter from the school is released? Thank you.
I am currently studying at niagara college. But i am in the fast track program. I want to go regular but their said no. Can I take a leave of abistence for a year. How will my post graduate permit be affected
Certain conditions have to be met and it can only be for up to 150 days. See here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/while-you-study/study-permit-conditions.html#s01.1
Thank you so much for the great information I have a doubt when I’m already on a student visa which is before October 22 and eligible for work more than 20hrs until Dec 23 but what if I want to extend my study permit ? in that case do I still eligible to work more than 20hrs on my study permit extensions?
Before doing so just give ircc a quick call, but you extended ur visa it means its not a new application so I assume u can still work more than 20hrs but always cross check with ircc :)
My niece came to toront on student visa, she is working 20 hrs a week. She finish her PSW at Centinial College. She will finish on May, what is her next step.
See if she can apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit : www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/eligibility.html
Sorry but I have no idea about the laws around bringing fire arms. Personally I would not recommend bringing any to Canada, you are only asking for issues at the border then
So when I finish my studies and got my grades I can apply for a post graduate work permit then continue working only when I’ve lodged an application I don’t have to wait for it to be approved
Yes you can work after you submitted your PGWP application and are waiting for a decision. See details here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/after-you-apply.html
Hey i have a question.. what if i want to change my college and province will it affect my study permit or is it possible if i have may intake and I withdraw that and then i apply for September it take does it count under study permit violation???
Could you please tell me if it is required for international students in Canada to work part-time during their studies? or is working only optional. Can I just concentrate on my studies without working till I graduate? Note: My spouse is a full-time worker.
Hello, I have worked more than 20 hours mistakenly even if I was allowed to work upto 20 hrs so am I in a serious trouble ( I had worked more than 5 months for the 20hrs) when I get to know then I stopped so can you please tell me am I at the risk of getting deported?
I am an international studying studying full time. Can I freelance for a US based company part time and receive the money in Canadian bank account? Is it legal?
Its mentioned briefly at the bottom here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/work-off-campus.html#no-conditions I would still check with IRCC but think there is a good chance you could at least do 20 hours.
@@studyliveexploreca I have 1 question. I am trying to calculate the cost of moving with my 2 kids to PEI AND I'm having problems finding a website to help with costs of student visas and other costs, can you point me in the right direction?
Hi, here is a pretty good website to compare cost of living: www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Canada I believe the Study permit fee is CAD 150 at the moment. But remember there are other costs to gather medical exam, biometrics etc...
Well, this is another helpful video I am planning on moving to Canada from Nigeria in July What would be your advice for me Here are the universities I applied to 1)University of Alberta 2) Cape Brenton University 3) University of Regina Which province will be better for me as an international student 😢

I am not sure on that, please check with IRCC.
If you exceed the 20 hour limit by 15 minutes once in 2 years, does that mean you’re screwed?
Haha probably not, but you should just try to avoid that.
I have been accepted to my main program with ESL condition. And my main course starts on September can I work on summer?
You can not work until your program starts and you have your first day of school.
Hey, I realized that the immigration officers forgot to add the work authorization statement in my study permit. So I gave it for amendment. Am I allowed to work during this period?
I would rather wait for the correct study permit, but you can contact IRCC and ask, they may say that you can work already.
I have a question. should i stop working after the grades are up in the portal, or when the transcript and completion letter from the school is released? Thank you.
Good question.
You have to stop once you have your final grades.
