Thank you Gregor ands Ilja for the video, we really appreciate it! We are in the process of completely updating our bass configurators and they will be live in a few days, the Headless configurator is already up and running, for those interested in checking our work. Feel free to reach out to us and we can provide more info about our basses and photos of our existing bass builds!
@@cags12 this particular one would be around 4k Euro. We are preparing a semi-custom spec very similar to this one which would be around 3 - 3,3k before tax
This is a thing that I notice is missed from MANY fan fret bass builders: Using a zero fret OR brass nut. Why is that? Also: this model has a great body shape. Elongating the upper horn slightly (1 or 2 cm longer) while deepening the lower cut to access the high register better (1 or 2 cm deeper) would make it perfect. Smoothing the fretboard ancgles AND frets edges makes A LOT of difference in the playability of 6 string basses ( for luthiers it takes 4x times longer to process the frets tho) All this with the option of a headless design would make one hell of a base for an instrument.
I dropped a 6 way rotary selector into my Dingwall Combustion 5 after adding the third pickup, and these are the exact selections I can achieve with that setup. Did this a couple of years ago and never looked back!
The guitarist and bassist of Grapefruit Astronauts use Aviators. I think this bass might actually belong to the bassist! (Because of the 12th fret inlay)
I was in Germany last week for a layover and kept hoping I'd run into one of the guys from the channel..... and probably end up walking away with a desire for new gear. This bass sounds absolutely killer!
Hey Gregor! That's a lovely review. May I ask you why didn't you decide to play in the high register of the instrument? (especially without using distortion and while cutting the high frequencies) One of the best things about this kind of 6 string fanned fret basses is how sweet they sound in the very high register. Fanned fret is not just for metal. Thank you!
beautiful bass. Very smart settings. Many options. AMAZING online configurator where you can configure literally EVERYTHING! (if you have 10000 dollars) What is sad (same for dingwall), the sound of your current configuration is shit if you dont play metal. And if you do, it doesnt matter which bass you have. Sad but true, Pbass 4 strings for 800 dollars (any brand) is still undefeated in 90% of songs.
1:59 Your English is extremely good for a non-native speaker, Gregor, so I hesitated before commenting. But since you ask, « second of all » isn’t considered correct by grammarians (although we all know what is meant). You could opt for just « second » or « next » instead. Great video, as usual. 👍
I know. This was just a bit of fun ;) I love being a non-native speaker. It allows me to play with the language in a way that would probably considered to be weird if I was a native.

@aviatorcustomguitars7628 What is the ball park price for the Bass on the video?

Like to see Headless Model......
@@aviatorcustomguitars7628 thanks, I was hoping it was more affordable but I understand you are a custom shop

It was helluva fun with this one 💀🤘🔥! What a cool bass!
$3600 for a 4 string isn't what I would call "affordable".
That is a visually stunning 6 for sure. the fretboard looks amazing with the color they choose for the body.
Never been so much into 6 string basses, but this one is a beast

I love you guys having a bit more fun with this one. Great bass as well!
0:36. spitting out my coffee😹
I own the very first Aviator Raven. A 7 string multiscale beast! And a bass machine is in plan already...

exactly, it's his bass :)
That's very.... Dingwally!!! Not a problem... looks and sounds great.
Sounds more versatiel 🙃
Ilja John Lappin is the right man to test this one, his band Hirsch Effekt is very good as well.
🙏
Does look good and sounds killer
I love that tone

What a masterpiece off modern bassbuilding. What a unbelievable Tool!
You HAVE that bass... Now.
it's already back with the owner unfortunately
I'm really impressed with that bass!
I was definitely too!
@@pxnheadwhen you are not impressed than you are not a bassplayer🤪
I went to their website and there are no basses to configure or buy.
they're about to update the website
Can’t find any info on the website.
Yep I had the same issue. I saw one bass that was sold and no other basses to be seen on their website.
Same here. Perhaps AG are hoping to generate some interest? I think they got what they wanted.

I thought we covered that in the 2nd sound sample
You mean the tapping section?
I meant sonething like this 🤷:

How does this compare to the BTB806ms?
Now that looks like fun

I wasn't sure if they were still making guitars.

Top ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Remember guys, before starting the video, go check out the instrument price to avoid any GAS crisis 😄
It's like Dingwall and Ernie Ball had a baby.
The next Dingwall clone
Seems like a lot of metal bassists are playing 6 strings these days
Why don't you ever play in videos Gregor?
Lol? A lot of other channels review basses.

👍👍👌
You're not going to get any girls with that kind of music.....
I assume you’ve never been at a metal show? Much more diverse crowd that you might expect
That bass doesn't actually exist...
Gsus, Ilja's chops are disgusting. 😂
It's very modern. Great for the younger 'TH-cam' generation, I guess.
What?
