Born February 8th, 1932, John Williams is one of America's greatest film composers. This short video is my personal tribute to him in celebration of his 84th birthday in 2016.
60 years of a wondrus torrential rain of genius... "All art is a gift of the Holy Spirit. When this light shines through the mind of a musician, it manifests itself in beautiful harmonies." ~ Baha'i Faith Writings on Music
I’ve been a fan of John Williams scores since I was 13, I bought all the Star Wars remastered albums and all the other remasters as well, John Williams is a musical genius and I don’t think any composer can get to his level that he has, don’t get me wrong, I also love Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri and Danny Elfman and so on but John is something else....
Thanks! This is a great tribute to a wonderful composer and orchestrator. I have found so many teaching points in his themes and accompaniment figures.
It depends on at which point you consider the theme to be over. I mention in the video 9 notes because most people hum/sing/play those when referring to the theme. The entire theme is many more notes, but I am guessing your teacher is looking for the answer of "nine." You can find numerous videos on youtube of the theme being performed.
***** Then do it like MatPatt who hides in his closet when recording Audio :P Anyways, I will check your videos in the future, and subscribe if the quality is upheld/improved contentwise, regardless of Microphone *thumbs up*
+Chris Wright (Understanding_Music) Kind of an old comment so sorry to bring it up so much later, but I think you're one of the best narrators I've heard on youtube
So we all just watching this for our class, huh?

Nice! I didn't know that Williams scored the music for Jaws.
Have you been living under a rock, Pugs? Every American movie fan knows this...if they grew up in the 1980s.

Awesome video Chris! Just something to correct - in the description you say he was born on January 8, he was actually born on February 8.
No problem, thanks for posting this! I'm doing a research paper on him and this is really helping me out.
@@LordStarscream100 You do realise you forgot to change accounts right?
