As non violent as he is, Strauss not only threatens but openly encourages violence against the desperate people he lends money to. His actions directly lead to several characters lives being ruined. and for that reason I think he should be higher up. Also Abigail kills a Pinkerton, even if it's just once, she did do it and technically, it's a crime even if we hate the guy.
strauss' business is technically legal but it takes a dump on everything the gang stood for by preying on the poor and defenceless they claim to be fighting for
@@Garland846 I agree, I would say Strauss is one of the most cold-blooded of the gang members. His value of figures and lack of compassion for those who are entries in his ledger book reminds me of the Strange Man from the first game. A fellow accountant.

Charles didn’t murder the poacher, it was self defense. You can see that the Poacher drew his gun first and was about to point it at him. Charles had a faster draw and reacted in time.

i would like to say, its said that Mary-Beth can "pick a pocket quicker than you can blink" or something along those lines. Also, in rdr Dutch is also WAY worse, and he kills in cold blood more than Arthur and John, at least thats what i believe LOL. but overall a good tierlist! Keep it up man.
there's even a companion activity with Mary Beth where you rob a stage coach together,, she gets taken hostage and you have to headshot the guy holding her, so not only is she a hardened criminal she's also pretty cool headed.
OP, if you really believe that about John and Arthur then you need to play more RDR properly...
@@godzillazfriction im gonna be honest i dont even remember writing this KJSDFKJ but, yeah. john is brutal and what not, but as john said in rdr2, "[dutch] seems to enjoy it now." which is mostly what i was talking about :] tho, now that i have played rdr more, i 100% get what you mean
Dutch also murdered that old lady with his bare hands. And not even over that bar of gold, but simply out of paranoia
I feel like Javier could go S tier too, hes part of many missions in game and in Shady Belle you can find a wanted poster of him where he has a bounty of 1000usd. Comparing what kind of mass murder you have to do as arthur to get a 1k bounty i think he could go S tier
I agree, bro also Javier worked with the Mexican government to kill innocent Mexicans
Bill should've been higher than Sadie, he led a gang for several years until he died in RDR1, he was with the Van der Linde gang for 6 years and, after leaving the army, he was a highway robber before he joined the gang as well. And Sadie had never really committed any major crimes until chapter 6, excluding killing enemy gang members. She was also completely innocent before the events of the game.
It was stated she was never innocent lol also she was a bounty hunter from the main game to the epilogue which was 8 year she was bound to get more kills then bill
Bill also was stated to have raped people while running his own gang I'm pretty sure. Unless I'm misremembering the first game. So. Imo Bill is number 1. He did everything everyone else did, and then thay.
Sean a gifted gunslinger? What did you smoke before you made this
abigail literally killed a man????? Even tho Milton was an antagonist, in the eye of the law he’s just an agent doing his job and abigail killed him.

If we take the first game into account which you should, since its part of the story. Jack Marston murders several FBI agents and Army soldiers who were attempting to take in a mass murdering outlaw, and then hunts down and murders Edgar Ross in cold blood. He is S tier for sure. When did jack take down fbi agents and army men, btw the fbi (pinkerton) agents weren't trying to take in a criminal (john) they tried to kill him although they had a deal (john taking down his former brothers in arms in exchange of his liberty) so my guess it was more of a self defense situation even though the law may list it as acts of crime, if they don't acknowledge ross's corruption and manipulation

While Herr Strauss’ “criminal” tier is debatable, I would say he’s definitely “hardened.” As hardened as any of them. He saw every one of those persons before Arthur met them. He knew their circumstances. It never seems to occur to him that some form of mercy might be required for certain individuals in his ledger, his figures and his accounts. That is what’s most frightening about him, to my mind. Even most of the cold-blooded killers of the gang seem to have something of a conscience. Strauss is a lot like the Strange Man from the first game. Also “an accountant,” also an impressively hardened individual. The only really good thing I can say about Strauss is that he is loyal to the gang, even under torture.
this is so f3cking cringe to the point i just despise the RDR community of making it seem like Strauss is EVIL INCARNATION even though he literally suggested to Arthur that he should 'try not to kill them, it's very bad for business' and what do you mean by 'conscience' - stop arguing semantics in regards to your falsely perceived beliefs/thinking...

you can also add John, Arthur and Bill on there...
even Javier although RDR2 completely misused his character considering that he was originally supposed to kill a whole stagecoach family in a coach robbery and this wouldve enhanced the over-arching story of Javier but also the moral depravity that Dutch set upon in his gang...
@@godzillazfriction Arthur and John don't kill for no reason like Micah and Dutch do. Arthur and John kill for being tested, threatened, or because their life and freedom is on the line and don't always feel good about it when killing in seemingly "unnecessary" times. Dutch and Micah kill for no reason without any remorse and kill anyone, women, children, anyone. Micah is also a potential rapist from things learned of him in RDR2 and a psychotic criminal sociopath who kills for the fun of it. Dutch shoots girls in the face with no remorse. Bill might have some remorse and same with Javier but yeah they definitely lean towards psychotic but aren't as bad as Micah and Dutch in my opinion given the amount of crimes and nature of them. I call Dutch and Micah psychotic because of who they are willing to kill, their other criminal behaviors, their complete lack of remorse, and sense of self entitlement in their killings and crimes. Arthur and John feel remorse and know they are bad and want to change their ways and that's why its called Red Dead "REDEMPTION" whereas Dutch and Micah cannot be redeemed. Arthur and John can be redeemed because they know its wrong and want to change and because of that I wouldn't classify them a psychotic sociopathic killers like Micah and Dutch

Bro Marybeth always goes out stealing like pickpocketing. They met Mary when she was avading the law with a bag full of watches and wallets. She even comes to Arthur telling her stealing in town and they almost killed her and so
Abigail can tachnically be considered a criminal since she did kill a law enforcment agent. Also, I don't know if this is being pedantic or not, but the ones who don't actively participate in criminal behavior can still be considered criminals by aiding and abetting actual criminals. With the exception of Jack.
Jack assaults Kieran by throwing rocks at him
Pinkerton arent appart of law enforcements
@@titousobased They are private cops
Trewlany would be comparable to Lester, they don’t get their hands dirty but outright plan out heists.
On another hand, Strauss’ business should be perfectly legal. Worse person doesn’t mean he’s a criminal, he should be in Swanson-tier. I don’t think he attacks anyone on the ferry heist.
so he's worse than Arthur, John, Javier, Bill, Micah and Dutch...?
He smashes some poor guy's head with a bottle
Your definition of crime, Strauss not committing the beating. He’s the loan shark, lends money cause he knows he’ll get more by sending a soldier, manipulates both the loaner and Arthur, convinces Arthur to beat or murder and bring the money… he’s a terrible evil and in court, being the brain of violent operations like this, the sentence is more severe then the one breaking the legs.

It’s said a few times that Abigail is a good thief, and she also blew up a building in Saint Denis with Hosea💀 and she also killed Milton too
I would bump Molly up to D-tier. She had Dutch convinced that she told and as his girl, she’d be privy to a lot of info.
john definitely did a lot worse than arthur if you include rdr1 considering he killed hundreds of army men in mexico without hesitation
you're forgetting everything about what both are capable in free roam, Arthur definitely takes more enjoyment in this life compared to John who just wants his family despite the game presenting an allegory for John to be reborn once again as an outlaw considering his past caught up with him...
also John's 1st kill was when he was 11-12 years old and was going to get hanged for it until Dutch saved him and it's where John joined the gang...
Its not really a crime if you are made to do something
John in RDR1 killed for the greater cause while Arthur killed for money.
i just want you to know that abigail literally killed agent milton whos one of the main antagonists in this game
Abigail killed Milton, so she did murder an agent of the law. She also was a hooker earlier in life.
Mary-Beth is routinely described as the most prolific pickpocket in the entire gang and she also breaks into houses to steal things.
Strauss's lone sharking scheme is legal as is mentioned many times.
Tilly murdered Anthony Foremans cousin, according to them in cold blood. She also helps rob a stage will Bill and Arthur.
Lenny joined the gang because he murdered the guy who killed his father. If you read an newspaper article that
Sean kept about his fathers death, it mentions that Sean went with his father on terrorist activities in Ireland prior to joining with the gang. Hes as hardened as anyone.
Charles and Javier are both cold blooded killers. Im sorry I dont see what make them less than Marston or Bill.
Hosea never shoots anyone. Hes a conman, not a gunfighter. Hes stolen alot, but hes honestly closer to Trelaney than he is Charles or Javier.
To be fair to Charles, he didn't kill that guy in the clip in "cold blood." The other guy threatened him and reached for his gun before Charles grabbed his shotgun. Charles was just quicker on the draw
I think Strauss should be upgraded to the B-tier, an accomplice to murder. Being an enabler to violence is bad enough, especially when the enabler outright encourages beatings. Strauss actually told Arthur to beat Thomas Downes, and he can actually tell him twice if Arthur hadn’t already done it up until a certain mission.
Yes, Arthur was the one who did it, choosing to go through with it, but Strauss was the enabler, making him an accomplice not only to an assault, but a straight up murder as well.
Plus, Strauss actually gets his hands dirty and attacks a guard during the boat robbery in Saint Denis as well.
so you think he's worse than Arthur even though he suggested to Arthur that he should 'try not to kill them, it's very bad for business' why in tf would Strauss say that to Arthur if he knows what Arthur is like... Arthur literally says that he's doing this for the 'pleasure' of beating/torturing and (optional) killing the ppl who owe the debt...
@@godzillazfriction I think when Arthur says he's doing it "for pleasure" he was being sarcastic, as he is shown to be during the game. Also on a few occasions he tells Strauss that loan-sharking is "dirty work", he seems to do the debt collecting out of obligation to the gang.
@@thepariah3516 how was he being 'sarcastic' there's nothing in the damn story that suggests this and you're not even pointing out where its shown to be 'sarcastic' that alludes to your original point, the reason why he finds Debt Collecting 'revolting' is because of what it stands for within the gang, it's not because Arthur is taking pity on those who he beats/tortures and kills since you can kill and even Strauss reminds Arthur to 'try not to kill them, it's very bad for business' - Arthur doesn't mind at all for killing them, there's no actual consequence other than how Arthur chooses to realise what he's been doing which the only time it works is when Arthur confronts the widow and her son which definitely reminded him of Eliza and Isaac, Arthur still isn't a quote on quote 'Good person' just because ppl deem the 'Good deeds' to be trivial for Arthur to gain 'Redemption' even though that's now how that works and that certainly undermines the games Story about Arthur Morgan...
but anyways, there's no consequence in actuality because it's a criminal/outlaw gang that hypocritically and ironically exploiting the concept of Debt collecting to gain even more money...

Tilly was an acomplice in the Foreman massacre
Hosea, while he wasn't involved in much violent crime (there's the attack on the Braithwaite manor, not sure if he did anything else violent) he was a fraud and a scammer, he stole that coach from a certain individual's cousin by marriage and was involved in planning stuff in the gang in general

Swanson, Molly, Grimshaw and Pearson were known acomplices because they knew about the gang and didn't report anything to the authorities
The only true non-criminal is Jack because he was a kid when the gang fell apart
It doesn't make much sense to talk about Arthur because some crimes can be written up to him but he may or may not have committed them. He may or may not have robbed people at gun point for example, missions don't force you to rob them
I disagree with the murder of that ordiskoll, because it wasn’t really murders, especially at the time where you could turn the ordiskoll in
also it's implied that Sean killed innocents during the dialogue from RD Online, he says but not directly towards himself that killing innocents gives him a 'nasty feeling' or something like that to which he said
what matters about Arthur is if he's capable of that... by that logic you should equate that towards John elsewell in both Red Dead games
@@godzillazfriction I'm capable of murder and yet I haven't killed anybody and you can't win any lawsuits against me. John is pardoned canonically, so he loses all crimes before rdr1, he is then pardoned again before he was killed so he’s bottom
I feel Abigail should be higher considering she killed Milton. Murdering an officer (if the pinkertons can be called that) isn’t a light crime
Not bumping Abigail up more is WILD-- she should at least come after Tilly imo bc she did kill a Pinkerton (not that we like led him anyway but the technical aspect of it according to this list)
Uncle could be Red Harlow so if you go by that theory he's killed quite a few people
"Abigail doesn't really commit any crimes."
Agent Milton: T_T
What about the one shot kid he should be higher and Hosea did the same amount as any of the gang members plus he Jase had more time to do more stuff
Also Sadie broke John out of prison and killed dozens of official officers
I feel like abigail should be in C tier because she killed Milton
Wtf is that jack beating up Arthur mod
who else here waiting for a mission that starts between “6 am or 7 pm”?
I'd have put Micah at number 1
Because yes, Dutch did RUN everything, he also had some code.
Micah killed children and did it for fun
Let's be honest most of our Arthurs and Johns have killed thousands for literally no reason
there is a theory out there that Uncle is Red Harlow from Red dead Revolver if so he can be higher on the list
He’s not sadly
In the first game Dutch did say Abigale was a prostitute, which I guess would be a crime but not as bad as the others
Was it even a crime back then?
@@derpeth2101 probably not, maybe to some people who are really traditional
the fact that Molly is straight up in the Saint tier already make the mome when she is killed even worse as she legit basically didnt deserve it, i mean already she didnt deserve it but now youre just adding salt to the wound of how bad the others were for thinking so badly of her!
I really dont understand how you forgot that Abigail puts Milton on a t-shirt considering how important that mission is to the story. Also I think Micah should be ahead of Dutch. Yes if we are talking strictly numbers Dutch has committed more counts of crimes, but first Micah is a predator and second he kills a buuunch more innocent people (Dutch kills two, three if you wanna consider Cornwall innocent). Also lets not forget he is a Rat so he commits both unforgivable crimes in the eyes of regular people and criminals
You should have had a con man tier just for Josiah
13:16 RIP
Pearson could be charged with Aiding and Abetting.
