Kieran actually made me sit up and think for the first time in awhile. I agree it does give me hope for part 2 being actually hard and im happy to see the return of double battles. Like its insane only the ghost gym had double battles and you cant repeat those

Great video! I agree with all your points there, and I think you've missed out how Poliwrath also had a Sitrus Berry in the final battle, so even after it uses Belly Drum, it's not like instant death for it.
I maybe went on hard mode with this DLC since i played through the story with only 4 Pokémons, with not that good of a type coverage, mainly for fun, and somehow it made the fights more challenging As for the last fight with Carmine since i wanted to be RP i challenged her with only Ogerpon to fight(i had a lvl 1 mon with an item to double the money but it didn't really fight) And i think that without this challenge i wouldn't have loved it as much, but i'll be going with a full team to see what happens in the indigo disk
Too bad by this point I had 3 boxes’ worth of shinies and hundreds of L exp candies to build any Pokémon up at an instant.. maybe on a fresher playthrough these battles would have been more exciting with the added challenge. I HAVE just mashed my way through Pokémon battles with strong attacking moves since I started my journey in SoulSilver tho. I like how you mention BDSP since I thoroughly enjoyed the added challenge with the updated move sets and items !! Nice vid.
Thanks for the compliment! I think I would have had an easier time if I had a similar setup to you with the free-flowing EXP candies, but I was fresh out when I started and also was using fresh mons from the new DLC area, so I think I made things harder on myself haha
I'm personally looking forward to how much they hyped up Blueberry Academy being straight up _Competitive Battle Geniuses_ I'd love to see common tricks we see in competitive singles, while AI won't ever replace a real player, but having that acknowledgement of how much more complex this game can get, and have that acknowledgement be shown to casual players would be an amazing way to hopefully get more people into it.

Even more than just have everything at level 100, just turn Blueberry Academy into a true Battle Facility. Or heck, even just add that functionality separately if they don't want to go to that extent for the story.

the story of teal mask fundamentally doesn't work if u don't want Ogerpon meaning the entire emotional crux of Kieran's story completely falls off why can't i just talk to Kieran after his last fight in Teal Mask, he can still get mad at us, if anything, us not talking Ogerpon when they want to come with, works just as well for why Kieran starts dislike u, u just told him that the legendary pokemon of his land u didn't want, even tho it wanted to be ur friend, he could totally, incorrectly take that as us disrespecting his culture and him
Teal Mask from my perspective continues SV’s trend of having some really iconic boss fights, but lower general baseline. Also based BDSP take. Sinnoh is always my favorite region, regardless of game.

I was basically Hardcore Nuzlocke-ing BDSP with such reckless abandon until I got wrecked by its Elite Four. In any case, great vid! Especially love the Kieron analysis!
That’s fair! I think I had a desire to catch and use a lot of Pokémon because of the more seamless catching mechanics, which left my team at a lower level. Also, though, two stages of Giratina on top of a team of 6 is pretty nuts
The thing that has pissed me off about the base game infinitely more than anything else is the fact that the main game is WAY too fucking easy. Sword, moderately challenging. BDSP, pretty difficult. PLA, the most aggressively agitating and difficult BS that I’ve ever seen, and I loved it. It was so refreshing. But Scarlet and Violet just held the players hand through the entire game, and the gym challenge was a joke as well as the ridiculously cheesable titans (beat them 25 levels underleveled) all along with the stupidly broken mons you get access to like Skeledirge and Garganacl, I’ll say it, this part of the game is easier than fucking let’s go, which is exactly why I LOVE the DLC. It’s refreshingly challenging, has an interesting story, and brought back iconic mons like Gliscor Chandelure and Snorlax. 10/10 DLC
I wish Pokémon would let you unlimited rebattle gym leaders as a given and stop the foolishness. Lastly, I would love unlimited relive the moments such as battle as many times as you would like against the AI professor etc.

Indigo Disk *should* have all lvl100 pokemon, we've had so much time to grind and get our entire team to lvl100. Or maybe they can make that optional.
