Since I'm subbed, I knew you were uploading today, so while waiting, I watched the video where there was a continuous horn strobe in the high school with all the code 3 horns and asked myself if it bothers you, maybe just leave it. Just because mixed signals are illegal, doesn't mean you'll go to jail, that would not make sense
Very good idea and I seen ground up outlets mostly on switched circuits with bottom being switched and top being always on! Ground down outlets are not switched
Adding an emergency light by the fire alarm panel is a good idea. With LED heads I hope! When I wired my fluorescent light in the room for my fire alarm panel, I did add an emergency light and broke the tab on the receptacle for a constant hot on my switch pole.
North America emergency lights look okay I do like Canada emergency light. looks really bright. I never know emergency light have a cord that's pretty cool.
I live in UK I think wire nuts are not safe ,but I would use wago,s as you can connect wires more safely and still test for connection when testing wires in the future.
I live in Canada and I think wago's are unsafe. They are good for temporary and good for testing and small loads. But I've had too many experiences coming back to replace them after they've burnt up and damaged equipment. I prefer a solid connection that doesn't rely on the connecting device where it simply therefore insulation.
One thing that could be something to invest in is the flush emergency lights that drop down when the power goes out the when power is restored it flips back up and is flush. It visually pleases most people because you can’t see them
Nice video, question (as per usual lol)… for an old building, how would you connect it to the fire department?… when the alarms go off course… and would I have to call our alarm company for that? And the alarm company where I live is coming to our building in November or October, should we just ask them to then?
here if you have a fediral pacific panel you have to change it out no questions asked or the insurance company will not insure you and the fire dept can fine you for keeping it in use
Hey Nic very nice video! I love these kinds of videos where you install new equipment in your house! I am really waiting for your monthly testing video. When are you going to upload it? Thank you!
I haven't even recorded it yet it's the first day of the month It's much more of a struggle right now with finding time to create content at the same time as preparing for college and graduating high school as I said in my post so not sure if and when it will happen
Not in British Columbia. There are assessments for certain grades but it's not the style of having one assessment that determines everything at the very end.
@@NS-Sirens yes but I only upload twice a week if I uploaded when I filmed it I would sometimes have multiple videos per day and then weeks without anything
Nic i would replace that battery with a new one. Such a years old battery which is deep-discharged will never really come back to life with full capacity and quit completety in the near future. It would be bad that in the time of need it would not light.
@@nics-systems-electric fair enough. I didn't either until I saw they were used heavily in Europe and available far longer there than in NA. You actually read my mind lol I was gonna mention a few videos ago. You should add a emergency light to that boiler room, great install!

nobody is going to jail. Mixed signals are definitely illegal so that device has to be replaced.
Also you did not mention it's obvious that at least some of those screw drivers side your using are design for energized equipment!

here you could just wrap the new wire around the others and tighten the wire nut tight and call it a day espicaly for a light load set up
Always good to pre-twist
They sell a breaker finder that use to find which breaker goes that outlet
