Actually it's not really true reason being the exam is potentially really difficult to crack plus has very low pass percentage with being extremely expensive. So people do divert into healthcare industry like informatics and administration. So generally people with medical background get settled in these fields. Having discussed the advantages of doing CA in India and then going on to do CPA in Canada to shorten the length of the program there one point that got sorely missed is that Indian CA is a big rip off and you know what I am talking about, it has been so superficially difficult that even many bright students drop out. Indian CA is what to say..... sucker of sorts

Just checked, experience working in India under a CPA US firm will count if the company to which they are applying is looking for someone with similar experience. This actually applies to all prior work experience, if the employer is looking for someone with similar work experience it will definitely be considered.

If by acca, you mean cpa, then yes for sure you can. You just need to ensure your employer (and this could be in any industry or a professional services firm) has a pre-approved CPA program. If they are not, you can go the experience verification route as well, but this might be a bit harder. The overlap doesn't matter. Accurate disclosure of information is very important throughout the immigration process as well as after.
