Hi betsy, thanks for this insightful information, im an ACCA member migrating to Canada as PR in 2024, and this has really helped me; if i can easily get a job with my ACCA, then its worth waiting for renewal of MRA and rather pursue other certifications like CFA.

Hi Do you have any advice for those who might be moving with a part qualified qualification like an affiliate or someone still studying the exams and who has non relevant experience? Please advise.
Hi Betsy, do you require work experience if you want to start with CPA Pep or CPA Prep? I have a bachelor of commerce with finance and taxation UG degree, and I'm part qualified in ACCA. I'm planning to go to canada in 2024 however, I realize that ACCA is no longer recognized there so I was thinking of pursuing CPA Canada and I think I might have to start from CPA Pep but I have only 6 months of work experience.
Thank you for the video! I have a question : There is a MRA between CPA Canada and CIMA for CGMA designation holders. However no information on whether you are eligible for CPA exemptions for individuals who have completed CIMA exams but yet to receive their CGMA designation (by completing the practical experience requirement). Does anyone know if there is any path for CIMA exam completed individuals who are yet to to obtain CGMA?
Hi Betsy!! So I’m ACCA certified and is planning to immigrate into Canada via CPA study permit (CPA WSB is a DLI, and so they can issue an appendix to apply for a study permit). My problem is, courses offered by CPA WSB and B.C are not eligible for PGWP, so even if I proceed, come into Canada, and is eventually CPA certified, I will have to leave Canada, I can’t work and then later on apply for PR. Please could you advise on a better immigration route whilst still able to pursue CPA and get a PGWP afterwards.
Hi Betsy, I have a business degree from HKU with a major in Finance. Is a transcript assessment by CPA Ontario necessary in order for me to waive the PREP? Or coz my major is finance NOT accounting, hence it will not be useful for me to do the transcript assessment? Many thanks.

Depends on where you want to work? Canadian employers are flexible to accept US CPA at least to certain levels.

How CPA body teach? Is it personal learning and appear on exam? Or are subjects are teaching on school?
Thank you
Hi Betsy, What do you mean by challenging the exam?
It’s taking the exam to prove that you know it already… think of an ielts… ie test of what is assumed knowledge.
Hi Betsy, I am not yet a chartered accountant but I’m currently in my final stage of ICAN and I’m going to Canada for school very soon. What should I expect if I want to take an exam as a graduate of accounting without being chartered?
You will need to go the specific CPA website to know this. The video is generic.
@@coachbetsy What sounds harder to your "ears"? 1. CPA or 2. Masters Degree in Statistics?

Please google, lots of colleges in Canada for this.

Yes but you first have to do preparatory courses since you major wasn't in accounting. For more in info just search CPA PEP Canada.
Is CPA canada internationally recognised like ACCA or CPA US? Would you suggest somebody from an engineering & data science background to go through the CPA process? Is it required for roles such as a CFO or corporate strategic financial management?
These questions were answered in the video. Yes it is definitely recognized. For the latter, A CFA may be better suited for SFM.
What will you advice on an Accountant graduate from Nigeria University who's 30 years. Any need to pursue more license base on job opportunities or face I.t courses which am already good at?
IT seems about right if practising Accounting is no longer desirable.
