I'm just seeing this video for the first time. My Dad is the "Lloyd Idelman" Max spoke of in his interview. Thank you so much Max! I will never forget the day we spent as your guest at the Half Century of Progress show. You made Dad feel like a king!
What a wonderful story. Max Armstrong really helped the community so it was so fitting to see everyone pull together and restore his family's tractor to perfection
What a great story..I love the old red tractors as my Dad had an IH dealership in a small town in Northern Illinois. Seems like yesterday that I would sit on a shiny 560 on the showroom floor..I was in first grade
We had a 560, what I basically learned on. Narrow front. Put a lot of hours sitting on it. Always wanted the bigger tractor with a cab, but now would love to have the 560 back. Good memories.
I have a 1963 560 that I drove home new from the dealer (at age 11) when my father bought it. There are 5802.3 hours on the hour meter ,which has been broken for at least 40 years. It runs but it could use a great deal of work by some of those FFA kids.
WE HAD 2 of them.....one we had rear end replaced under recall..they were actually good tractors after u got the rear end changed.. we put a blower on one..pulled a 5-16 plow easily.;.but couple years later...blew a head gasket....then we bought a 806 which was very nice.....this is when the 4020 was around, and i ran both....i probably would buy the 806 over the 4020...but the 4020 was a very good tractor too
My dad rolled a 360 utility when he was young. Something malfunctioned with the steering. He was trapped under it for several hours before they found him. They traded it for a 504. It didn’t have the best steering after it got broken in either. We later had a 460 Farmall tricycle. It would wobble back and forth going down the road, too.
It's the u joints in the steering or needs a larger key in the steering column. That was the problem with my grandpa's super m and my 450 that I'm restoring
nice 560 max my dad got a 1963 560 gas wf she came from are famly farm and i boult back my grandpas 1956 300 utilty back a year ago and my dad and i and my daughter are restoring her

Great Video!
I have my dad's John Deere 70 Diesel and 440 industrial.
My uncle's had a 1959 560. The biggest piece of junk International ever built. Spent more time in the shop that it did in the field
0:06 model je?
“…like shaking hands with a dairy farmer…” I was seriously like “cause they’re proud of their cows?……ohhhhh!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What's the horse power on it excuse me !!!?
The 560 produced 59 belt horsepower.

I cringed when I saw that girl underneath those forks. Had a guy killed where I used to work when they failed and they came down on him.
Poor Max, never owned a decent tractor. 🤣
We have a 560 , all its used for now is feeding hay. Its OK, but it sure isn't the reliable tractor like our super M or the 706.
