  • What if Mikazuki Zero and Mikazuki Gai from "Tekkouki Mikazuki" was in Super Robot Wars? An ability showcase.
Tekkouki Mikazuki, meaning "Iron Armoured Machine Cresent Moon", is a six episode live action Super Robot series. The series was conceived and directed by Keita Amemiya, a veteran of the Kamen Rider franchise as well as creator of other live action media such as Garo. The series is noticeably high budget for Japanese special effects-heavy television, featuring a large number of vehicles, super suits, and monsters. Perhaps relevant to this, the first episode was originally planned as a movie.
The series follows AIT, an organization that fights Idea-Monsters or "Idom", giant monsters formed out of the thoughts of humans, often their strong desires. Foremost among their tools is Mikazuki, a mysterious robot-like statue left over from a lost civilization, the Kingdom of Gaira. Mikazuki responds only to the instructions of Kazeo Isurugi, a ten year old boy whose father went missing in an expedition to discover more about Gaira.
The series heavily involves the traditional Shinto concept of "kotodama", or "the spirit of words". According to this belief, spoken words have power to affect reality; positive words create good fortune and negative words create misfortune. The Idom are created when words materialize, and Mikazuki similarly responds to Kazeo's words.
The opening theme song of the series, "Crescent Moon", is performed by Don Dokken of the American glam metal band Dokken. Additionally, the song is composed by Hatake of the Japanese band Sharam Q.
For clarity, the subtitles here are not mine.
    「鉄甲機ミカヅキ」のミカヅキ零とミカヅキ凱がスーパーロボット大戦シリーズに参戦したられば。全て武器と特殊能力。
